Interesting choice, why did you decide to decrease the screen size? I have been in doubt until the last moment. After two cancellations and changing which computer I was going to trade-in, my new laptop will arrive today. I went with the 14" Space Black Macbook Pro Max/14c/36/1TB. It will replace my 16" 2019 MBP i9/32/1TB in all ways except playing pc games, which in this it will be a POS.

this is really very helpful. you explained it like i was five and i got it!!Holy crap - did you order two laptops for that price!?!?!?!? 😆
RE: binned vs unbinned. There are probably better explanations in the thread somewhere, but a 'binned' chip happens when they go to make a M3 Max chip, and they test the CPU, and realize some of the cores aren't working right/performance isn't what it should be. Your order above shows a non-binned chip, meaning you're getting the full power out of the chip as expected.
When looking at the options for the M3 max chip, the top chip is "binned", the second one is unbinned:

I can never remember how many CPUs/GPUs it has, so I'm lazy and say binned/unbinned.

Waiting on my Space Black 16" MacBook Pro. I ordered late, wanted to see it in person first. Original date was Dec 1 -7, but after little while it was quoted Nov 21. Won't be today, maybe tomorrow. It's coming DHL from China, in Cincinnati now on the way to Baltimore. Usually Apple uses UPS for me, I am not impressed with DHL. Their status doesn't show a delivery date, and there seem to be a ton of customs messages, on holds, etc. But other than not being happy with DHL I am not worried I suspect it will come tomorrow or worst case Friday.
I wrote that on Tuesday, not today -- assuming it will be here today Wednesday or Friday. At this point I am thinking Friday. DHL < UPS.Doubt it’ll be delivered tomorrow/Thanksgiving.. but if it does. That’s impressive lol
You right. My mistake lol.I wrote that on Tuesday, not today -- assuming it will be here today Wednesday or Friday. At this point I am thinking Friday. DHL < UPS.
I upgraded my original order to exactly the same as yours and I got the identical email from B&H yesterday. I am contemplating what to do next.I ordered a 16” Max 14/40 64gb/4tb from B&H on November 1st. Because I have their promotional credit card they absorb my state sales tax which amounts to $312.
Today I got an email from them saying “We will continue to try and secure stock to fulfill your order, however at this time we do not have an exact date on when we can fulfill it.” It goes on to offer options for selecting a different product or canceling the order. Talking with them via email it sounds like they don’t expect to have it in their hands until January.
It seems shocking to me that Apple would treat their authorized resellers this way. As a retail customer I can place the same order direct from Apple today (three weeks after the B&H order) and have it in my hands by mid December!
Thank you for recounting your experience. Sigh. I’m just going to wait.ive had the last 3 refreshes of the maxed out mbp 16 inch. the first one i got through bh because i had their card and had a good 0% apr. i got that same email but stayed the course as i was in no rush.it was about a month to get the machine, which i thought was ridiculous. the last 2 (early 2023 mbp 96gb/8tb variant) and now the late 2023 128/8tb variant i ordered direct from apple to get it sooner and not deal what that. also im sure bh have a waitlist so its not even sure where your name is on that list as im sure many people are taking advantage of the tax free option on the payboo card.
I've not used something like that before - but keep in mind that putting something like this on the lid of your laptop (with a SSD in it) might put inappropriate pressure on your laptop screen if you leave it on while in a bag. It would really really suck to break your screen.[2 Pockets] Afterplug External Hard Drive Travel Pouch for Laptop, Reusable Stick On Holder for Wireless Mouse/Earphones/Portable External HDD/SSD—Seagate, WD, LaCie, SanDisk - Gray
anyone use a product like this to expand there storage? if so what's your thoughts... trying to decide im going to return and upgrade my Mac to 4tb.. or just go with this...
I have a couple of external SSD's already...
and a NAS with 20tb+... just not sure how I want to proceed..

At the rate my shipment is going (and being handled by DHL express) you’ll get yours before I get mine and I ordered earlier and it shipped earlier. Sigh. Really wish it was being handled by UPS.Wednesday (Nov 22nd) ordered a Space Black MacBook Pro M3 Max 16/40 64/2TB directly from Apple. The order was charged and it shipped yesterday via UPS with delivery date Nov 30th. Original estimated delivery date at time of order was December 6th-8th.
