What brand/model of HDD is used in these?
I am just wondering if I am better off just buying either a Seagate 7200.4 or WD Black and installing it myself then upgrading with Apple.
Model: Hitachi HTS545016B9SA02

It's certainly giving me the urge to touch&feel it too...
yes i know i need applecare. my birthday is in may and money is tight as im underage. so i was going to buy it for my birthday next year since it would be under a year.
You only have 90 days from the purchase date to purchase applecare. So you have until roughly the second week of September. With the shipping, just wait until the status changes to shipped, and you will know exactly when it will arrive by using the tracking number...

Can you please stop talking if you don't know what you are talking about?
You have 1 year to purchase apple care. 90 days is the phone support you get. Theoretically you will have a lapse in your phone support. Big freaking deal, since they're useless anyway.
Have a nice day spreading misinformation.
I am so happy it is not even funny. It is so different coming from a TiPowerbook to this. Screen seems to have no dead pixels and looks great to me.
I was told that since the bottom is now one piece of metal, ram and HDD is no longer user upgradeable. I think no one really knew for sure at the store since this was the only one on display out of all of them and I'll be sure to check the manual.
I've never used Leopard either (tiger only) so I have a lot to learn. Also it seems the keyboard lights are on even in pretty normal lighting.
Am I the first to post with a new MBP 13"?
Just got the 1199 model from
the 5th ave store in NYC. Migration assistant is transferring files from
my late 2006 MBP now (will take 3 hrs). I can tell you screen looks awesome. Even when liking from the bottom, sxreen doesn't go negative black!!!
Nope- heres some more pics if it helps and BTW- awesome SD card slot- I totally forgot and just ditched the cable
Congrats man... I can't believe we are some of the first to post about receiving them. I'm trying to get use to the trackpad but it is why quicker already doing things and I bet it will only get better.
