A brushed stainless would have been a better option.

So, should have Apple used a brushed stainless for the 316 L stainless steel Apple Watch? I'm not following your view point. It's the Exact same steel almost as the surgical steel used on silver X bands and if it accrues micro scratches, it's not that big of a deal. Stainless steel in general will do that. I don't see many Apple Watch owners complaining of this knowingly because of what to expect with the stainless steel in general.

The SG coating obvious doesn’t give a significant amount of “protection” since it already has blemishes after three days of being babied.

And your experience isn't everyone else's. I have zero scratches on mine or any blemishes at all. Which, I don't use cases either.

Yea people think I’m crazy but I missed the home button too. I much prefer tapping than swiping. The swiping on the bottom of the X is too far down on the device.
Yep I really missed the home button I loved the X but hated no home button. But I’m back to my 7 plus and loving it. I didn’t go for the 8 plus because not really any different from my 7 plus I don’t care about wireless charging

I prefer the non Plus. I would have kept my 7 if my wife didn’t want a smaller phone than her 6S Plus. Returned the X got an 8 non Plus. Gave her my 7 non Plus and took the 8 non Plus. Like you glad I’m back on the UI that IMO is a culmination of almost perfection.

I wouldn’t mind a soft home button. I need a medium protective case like the Magpul Field case. Those types of cases have a lip. When I had the X in a similar case I couldn’t swipe down or up because you had to ‘dig’.

Also call me crazy but the bezels IMO and my experience have a lot to do with better navigation on the screen. Best way to explain it is the screen is a lot more centralized on the chassis.

Your not crazy lol I don’t mind the bezels on my 7 plus It puts everything into proportion sort of nice and neat if they could make the bezels half the thickness then that would be perfect for me.

Resistance is futile. You will eventually lose that button!

I returned it. X was just not worth the cost to me. I missed the home button too.
I was able to get an 8 mo. old 7 ($325), a gen2 Series 1 42mm AW ($135!), and shopping for an iPad Pro for about $350, = all for $275 less than the X. I also sold my iP6 for $200.

$200 for an iP6 is pretty good imo!

Not returning my X. Went from 8 to X and love it! The swipe up to go home feels more natural (to me) and is likely that all newly released iOS devices will adopt this sooner or later.

I totally agree. This is the way I use my iPad Pro. Everything I do is gesture based. I rarely use my Pro’s home button. I found myself very often swiping up on my 7+ To go home. I knew then I needed to give in and upgrade to the X.

It’s the same with the headphone jack though. As long as there are still viable options available, it’s sometimes worth putting it off and enjoying a needed feature for as long as possible until the option is gone.

In reality an iPhone user could keep the home button for at least another 3 years. The iPhone 8 should be good for that period even if Apple decide not to release a lower priced flagship including one next year.

I know... was just kidding. I held on to the headphone jack with the 6S+ and then jumped ship for that and other reasons.

Yeah I bought a 6S last year as it was a good deal and still had the jack. I haven’t regretted buying an older model. I know next year i’ll lose it with my upgrade but i’ll likely get an iPhone 8 when they are even cheaper again.

I can’t see the iPhone X coming down enough in price next year. It’ll still likely be at least £800 and I can’t justify paying that much for a phone I’m not particularly bowled over with. I’ll be using the older form factor for another three years I’m guessing.

I see many posts now where others are saying they're trying to use their iPad and realizing that gesture controls aren't they after using the iPhone X. I think this is a good sign Apple will easily be transferring Face ID/gesture controls to the iPad line up.

With the ipad pro and iOs 11, swiping up brings you to the app swticher and control center. Tapping in the empty space brings me to the home screen. I never need to touch my home button unless i need to authenticate.

iOS 11 been alright on 7 plus and battery) ?

I am very bipolar. Bought the X. Returned the X. Got an 8 Plus. Returned the 8 Plus. Got an X. Only real complain I have now is the phone is not wide enough for ppl with big hands to type on. Other than that I’m slowly getting used to it.

Had the X, wasnt a fan (no home button, no TouchID). Returned it and went back to my 6 Plus.

I'll see how it goes with the X Plus later this year.

If not, I'll get the 8/8s Plus and see where Apple goes in another year or 2.
