Sorely tempted to get a Note 8 now my x is returned and ios 11 is a buggy mess on my 7+. Just don't think 14 days will be enough time to decide if I do buy one after 10years on iphone and ipad. First reaction when using Android is always negative.

The Pixel 2 is nice and buttery smooth. iOS 11 is the worst update ever.

Hmm 14 days is closing in. I really like my X but am debating returning to save some $$. I can use my SE for a week and still hit the Black Friday specials to save even more.

The Plus is still too big for me in my hand and pocket to be comfortable 100% of the time. This is the only thing I don't like.

The 4.7 is too small for things like keyboard.

The X is and should be just right.... but at $1,149 and $199 AppleCare.... an 8 at $699 or $749, $129 AppleCare and a $250-$300 giftcard is extremely tempting... and I could get over the size.

But then I only keep a phone for a year and pay 50% of the MSRP and cancel AppleCare for a near 50% refund.

You are the only one who can make this decision, but it sounds like the X is the perfect phone for you and it is something you will use every day for at least the next year or so. If you need the extra money for life's necessities than changing to a less expensive phone is the right way to go. If the money is for another "want" item I would carefully consider what you are giving up vs what you are getting.

Very valid point and I agree totally. I just can't help flip flopping 5 times between now and this afternoon.

Would have ordered the Pixsell 2 xl as I need (grown accustomed to) the larger display, but with all the reported screen issues I can't go there for the sake of my sanity! Also the long term build quality and Google hardware support is questionable.

I like the non XL.

Yes, that is what he is referring to and I finally found a YouTube video of someone doing it but the Verizon guy who was a self-proclaimed Samsung guy and owned both the galaxy s8 (? I’m not sure I know Samsung names) and note 8 swore that no phone on the market does that.

That's why he's the Verizon guy.

My first reaction with the Note 8 after almost exclusive iPhone use since the 3G was all positive. My only other venture away during that time was a short stint with a Galaxy S5 which I hated.

Just got mine and am already ready to box it up and return it. The tall, skinny screen is so dumb, why did they go with that aspect ratio?! The colors change from different viewing angles. The notch is fugly. I miss the wide keyboard of my 7+. I don't see any benefits other than it being smaller. Don't know what people see in this phone, I'm not impressed. I'm also sad, this is the first year ever that I wont have a new iPhone.

The X isn’t really for a plus users it’s for non plusers. Next year they’ll be an X+.

I ended up keeping my X. Tried to go back to my 7 plus and it was okay but I like that my screen doesn’t go off on the X while I’m reading. It always did on my 7 plus and it drove me nuts. The smaller screen is something I was willing to sacrifice to avoid that. I’ll definitely get a X plus if they ever release one.

So I returned mine on Friday, 11/17/17 as Saturday was my last day to return it (got it on 11/4/17). I went back to the 8 Plus and felt so weird holding it and the whole bezel thing up by the speaker and by the home button was just awkward. This morning, Apple Store near me had Verizon 256 GB SG in stock. So I ordered another one for in-store pick up. So far so good. I immediately installed Spigen Glas.tr slim screen protector on it.

How did you guys manage to put these 2 threads right on top of the other:

Looks like the "will" have the lead.

BTW, I'm a Left Twix guy and the Right Twix people can suck it.

Look at the date they were posted. Of course one had more posts than the other...

Coming from a 6 the x is a huge upgrade. The 8/8+ is just same old outdated design. If you love that design stick with it.

Not sure why People who prefer plus even got the X. I use my iPad for watching movies/shows so the screen for me is perfect on the X. I would hate taking an oversized phone with me everywhere.

Plus fans should just wait til the plus X then you can backpedal about how the notch isn’t even noticeable. And how its easily worth the 1200 plus or how the gestures are so much faster and Face ID is flawless, Hooray!

Nah, I feel like most people upgrade yearly. That’s why the iPhone upgrade program is such a hit even though you’re literally throwing money down the drain. I do it so that I can upgrade every year. I could be way off, but based on what I’ve seen from people I know and those that I’ve stood in line with waiting for new iPhones... there are two types of people: 1. Those who use the upgrade program and upgrade yearly. 2. Those with enough money to just pay retail for whatever phone they want (and they usually buy new phones at every release, or in this instance they buy both the 8 plus AND iPhone X). I think Apple would have sold just as many phones no matter how they handled this release. It doesn’t really matter what Apple does, until they screw up big time their products will sell, and they will likely sell out on launch day.

Majority of phone owners don’t upgrade their phone til it stops working. Only a small percentage upgrade every year. iPhone users might be a little higher but still most people don’t upgrade every year. More people do 2 years then 1. But most people probably still have an iPhone 4 lol

Returned mine today. So happy to go back to my 7+. Really hated the X. If this is their idea of the future of iPhones, then I may have to switch to an Android.

With the 7 I can reach all 4 corners with a minor adjustment with my thumb easily with one hand with a Magpul case. Can’t do that with an X or a Plus.

It’s going to be hard to find a flagship phone now in the 5” range which is what you need for one handed thumb use.

The 6/7/8 could be the last of the king of one handed thumb use. Funny cause if I remember correctly Apple wanted to provide a phone for one handed thumb use. Yea I guess times are changing.

When you complain about the price seems like you couldn’t afford it.

I’m guessing 95% of the people here can’t afford it. But ask anyone and they all sound like millionaires buying fine wine.

I complain about price because it’s too high. That’s all. Prices are getting out of control, not beyond reach. It’s a choice.

All these “rich people” seem to think it’s a good idea to perpetually pay $50 a month for the rest of their lives just to have the latest phone.

*pocket computer. Considering we all spend a majority of our free time on the devices, you can see why we don’t mind. But I agree, it is getting too expensive.
