Would anyone else like to see a dark mode? I like dark backgrounds, but it'll also be nice to have a darker UI
I would love a dark mode and that should be something toggled on by default on black/space grey devices. This is one of those features that's present in some form on OS X but missing on iOS for some odd reason, i.e.: the notification center on OS X has more default widgets available than the iOS version and some of the OS X NC widgets were previously on iOS but disappeared after iOS 7 (Weather forecast, social media, etc.)

Dark mode, or at least a dark keyboard option

Dynamic content in iMessages e.g. Links show previews of content, videos show thumbnails, etc

Improvements to iPad multitasking - 2 instances of same app side by side e.g. Safari

Dynamic/subtle motion on icons like new Apple TV

Generally refreshed icons throughout entire system

New sounds (ring, text etc)

Fl.ux like feature which optimises display at sunset/nighttime so it's less stark, bad for eyes

Auto low power mode at 20%

Voicemail for FaceTime

Ability to type queries to Siri (alternative to using voice)

Weather and Calculator apps for iPad

Per-app rotation lock

More control over Do Not Disturb scheduling

Per-contact read receipts

Fix AirDrop (temperamental at best at the moment)

Letting UK users have 12 hour time with AM/PM (e.g. 4:58 PM)

Ability to snooze Messages and Mails to reply to them later

Sleep Cycle-esque Alarm app which uses accelerometer/sound to wake you in light sleep phase

New photo filters in Camera app (much needed)

Touch ID on Hidden Photos album and per-app in settings

That's a few off the top of my head. Bug fixes and under the hood optimisations obviously a given.
that's a pretty stunning list.

and all seem doable.

Great list!

I would add just a few more to this:

A completely redesigned and streamlined music app. The Apple Music service and the radio features should be spinned off into separate apps so the default music app will be the tradition iPod music player from before.

Redesigned action buttons that actually look like buttons, takes design cues from OS X.

Better UI optimization for the iPad.

Moderately refreshed UI taking more design cues from OS X.

- The ability to lock apps (such as messages and photos) with Passcode and Touch ID
- Dark Mode (keyboard and apps such as Settings)
- Fix all of the stutters
- Customizable Control Center (low battery option at the top)

That's all I want. :)

Sounds Good

Here's a few things I'd like to see on a future update:

1. The ability to set different days for Do Not Disturb. I do not want to be disturbed early on a weekend morning, but I do want that call or text on a weekday morning.

2. I want a number row on the keyboard. I hate having to bounce back and forth between numbers and letters.

3. I would like the ability to set default apps. For example, I prefer using Google Maps over Apple Maps. If Apple allows us to have and use an app, we should be allowed to set it as the default.

Good list. Nothing insane or droid and all of them make sense.

My iOS 10 wish list? No new iOS 10.

How about we make software as it was before...
No need for yearly big updates.
Why not add each feature on a .x update? So instead of having every year a buggy OS we start having something really stable...

Sure for marketing purposes this might suck but in the end your users will be happier getting free goodies throughout the year!

Not necessarily in order:

1 - Allow us to place app icons in whatever position or number we want per home screen.
2 - Widgets.
3 - Allow us to either delete of or truly hide unwanted stock apps.
4 - Allow choice in choosing default apps (browser, maps, etc.).
5 - Improved (more manual adjustments) camera app.
6 - Some sort of a utility that will allow us to manage the "Other" BS without
having to erase the whole damned iPhone (or iPad)!

Realistically, I don't see more than maybe one of these things (if any) happening, though.

My List:

"Private Mode" for iOS and Mac so that if I don't want a certain topic I am talking to my wife about (Christmas presents) to be seen by my kids walking by the iMac I forgot to sign out of, I can temporarily "mute" the conversation from syncing to everything. Just like Do Not Disturb is now for individualized conversations, so should syncing in Continuity.

"Remote Wipe" synced conversations so you can kill a conversation about what Santa is bringing your kids after you realized you just texted your wife for three days buying things she sends me with Amazon links while your kid is using your iPad to watch Netflix, that, guess what STILL doesn't have user accounts that I can sign out from.

Yeah… Thanks Apple. My children now know that Santa is not real.

To recap:

Private Mode for Message syncing (a la Do Not Disturb)
Remote Wipe for Messages (a la Safari Tabs)
User Accounts (a la every other decent tablet and computer ever)

Have the red badge notification bubble removed and use the top status/ menu bar to indicate a notification .

I honestly think Apple will do this especially with the size of the iPad Pro. Having to look all over on that beast for red badges is silly for its size.

Apple also should figure out a better way to utilize the iPad and iPhone's home screen then having it for a grid of apps. Most people in my opinion have gotten use to smart phones now and don't necessarily need all the apps in front us all the time .

According to some rumours iOS 10 could change drastically the iOS user experience. This is due to a widespread criticism about the iOS interface, which is accused of being too old fashioned. Do you agree?
