So great it lags and an iPhone 5 on iOS 6 STILL beats the crap out of a 6S in responsiveness and fluidity...wow.
Think we are kidding? We aren't, even an iPhone 4S wins over a 6S in responsiveness and fluidity. I was disappointed when I upgraded to it to find out that performance was as good or worse than my 4S. One thing I defiantly don't like is that my 6S only gets about 30fps with everything in iOS vs 4S on iOS 6 at 60.

You gotta admit, that's embarrassing...

What about this design for 3D Touch? Contact pics aren't present, because I don't want to show any faces without proper permission.

iOS 10 is getting lockscreen glances. Bookmark me.

Interesting idea, but everything else looks too skeuomorphic to me.
That's the point. Flat design is boring now, because everyone uses it and it all looks the same.

Apple's slogan (or what it used to be) is "Think Different", so it makes sense for them to be different. That's just not really the case anymore for them and it definitely isn't the case for their design department anymore, which is very disappointing. Their design used to be different and no one else had something like it. Now Apple is pretty much copying everyone else with a flat design with a UI that looks like a web page without a stylesheet, blue links on a white background.

People think skeumorphism is outdated, but its not and it never will be. The beauty of skeumorphism is not its ability to relate to real world things, but to allow artificial things to have character in its own special way, without being limited to just one tactic.

iOS 6 just looks so old when I look at it now. It's like comparing OS X to OS 9
How so? When I look at both new and old firmwares neither screams new or old, they say I'm something different.

The only reason you feel that way is because you have used nothing but the latest and its drilled into your brain and seeing the older one makes it feel old.
I use both 6 & 9 everyday and they both feel different, yet neither feels old or new.

The reason I stick to iOS 6 to this day is because of its optimization, speed, efficiency, and experience. I still find things in iOS 6 that I never knew existed and things that are unique and convenient. Every app has a different feel and a different way of functioning. In iOS today you just don't get the same vibe, because everything is white and every app looks the same. It's just unpleasant to use.

Wishing for dark mode, fixed 3rd party keyboard support and the ability to change default apps to 3rd party apps.

Lock screen apps.

Let me put a weather widget in there or a sports app with live scores so when I tap my home button I can instantly see the latest game and live match.

File system access
Fix the keyboards, honestly just make them work or introduce an apple word flow style keyboard
Deleteable apple apps

Photos storage being unlimited and free
Fix Apple Music
Drag and drop in iOS.

Hello! I thought it'd be fun to predict what new features iOS 10 will have. It'll be fun to see who gets the most right and the least wrong.

Here we go!
  • More apps per row on iPad. At least for the 12.7 inch pro.
  • A much improved multitasking app picker on iPad. We all know that the current one is complete garbage.
  • Siri SKD
  • App Store search ads (duh!)
  • App subscription pricing (duh!)
  • Hiding stock apps.
That's all I can think of right now.

I wish we got more customization with our home screens. Like widgets.

Or even just let us have spaces between apps.

Native OpenVPN support would be very nice. I'd be delighted if it were supported in iOS, OS X, and Airport/Time Capsule.

All of Apple's apps to support split view, especially Music.

If there is only minor changes to the UI and not Major ones for iOS's 10th anniversary, I have no more respect for Apple's design department. This is ridiculous that we were, and still are forced to use the current UI. Apple really should've gave us an option to use the new one or old one. The current one doesn't fit in with the character of the devices anymore. When I'm holding a premium glass and aluminum device, I want a UI to fit it (iOS 6). When I'm using a colorful plastic or colorful anodized aluminum device, I want a UI that fits with it (iOS 7).

When you buy a new car, you always get an interior to match the exterior color of the car. It really shouldn't be different for operating systems on devices if you think about it.

Boy, I sure do rant about design a lot don't I? I can't help it, design is something I love, and bad design (iOS 7, OS X Yosemite) gets under my skin terribly.

What makes iOS 6 "premium"? I thought all the faux leather, felt, linen and gloss everywhere looked anything but "premium". There is absolutely nothing premium about this:

iOS 7 probably went too far in the other direction (they pretty much redesigned the entire UI in less than a year) and my guess is we'll see a course correction to all the blinding white tomorrow. The way I look at it is iOS 7 was the redesign, iOS 8 brought new features, iOS 9 was about stability and iOS 10 will be about refining the UI.

There is no excuse for the iPad Pro to be unable to do what my jailbroken iPad 4 on iOS 6 can do...
It speaks for itself...

My god this hurts my eyes. If you need all those windowed apps like that you should be probably be using a Mac or PC. I'd love to know the stats on how many people actually use 3, 4 or more apps layered like that. My guess is the numbers are small.

Also one other major request.

camera management. And by that I mean using a camera and then syncing your photos/videos with it.

At this stage it's a nightmare

Eg I have a Nikon 5D and went on a trip this past day. Shooting some video and photos.

That fact that you need multiple cables and attachments to send over the photos and videos is a nightmare

But worst of all, if I shot video with my Sony A7SII which shoots in XAVCS then this is impossible to send on an iOS device. The iPad Pro has no power to handle the USB connection between camera and iPad.

Meaning, I have to wait till I'm home with my mac or take a make with me if I want to transfer videos across. And yes I can change it to shot in MP4 but the higher bit rate of XAVCS is there for a reason.

I would be happy with a dark mode, lock screen widgets, and 60fps across the board (fix the blur issue). Not a ton more I need on the iPhone front. I think Apple has some work to do with iPad though. Need to differentiate it (maybe 12.9 at the least).
