I thought of three things:

A) WebKit: Burn it to the ground and remake it. We need fewer specific WebKit tags and more sticking to the standards. With any luck, it could even make it leaner and faster if they trim the code enough.
B) Change the iPad Safari UI. It's not unfriendly, but could be less of an obvious desktop metaphor and more touch friendly. Metro I.E. was pretty good at that.
C) Metal 2.0: It needs to work better than what we have now and maybe even better than OpenGL.

Those are just some things that came to mind.

Shouldn't screen size be a factor with multitasking?

General a new Safari Ui would be awesome for ipad/iphone :D

It should work though. The health app tells you when you walk up stairs, so I imagine it would be a similar thing with the barometer and going up or down a level in a carpark
Sorry for late response - recognizing stair step movements is based on the accelerometers (which do work in 3D), not on the barometer.

I'd like to see the following:
-Deeper app linking so apps can share stuff to one another much easier
-Default apps
-FIX THE DAMN THIRD PARTY KEYBOARDS!!!!!!!!!!
-Give widgets on home screens if we want
-Allow us to put homescreen icons anywhere we want to put them
-Dark mode
-Support for using PS or Xbox controllers over an OTG cable
-Extreme battery saver model
-Customisable control center
-Support mice/trackpads (More so for the iPad Pro than anything else)

WE NEED f.lux! its not even hard. I know 4 people who already made an app that does the job, but did not publish it due to f.lux asking them to not publish it. F.lux did release an xCode kit for it but removed it to comply with apples terms and conditions.

And hopefully an updated icon to match. The current iOS Safari icon is still hideous but the newer OS X version does look much better. The worst looking icons are the ones that use too much white that also include Calendar, Health, Game Center, Reminders, Photos and now Music (old icon was WAY better).

iOS 9 is better than 8. So obviously they're not doing things half way.
Doing better than iOS 8 doesn't mean they are not "not half-assing." They some better features...but when it comes to under hood issues...I would say..they are.

The iPhone 6+ runs better with 9.2b than anything before it. Also, less stutter with CC and NC. That shows they're fixing things.

Okay...9.2b is different. I don't have 9.2..so i can't speak on that. IF it's true...then...all is well...but for time being...yeah...

Don't get me wrong. I believe you. I really hope the GM version is exactly what you said.

I hope it works as good for you as it did for me. Of course, I won't be able to tell you about whether or not it is because I've moved up to the 6S+.

There's difference between half-assed work and working hard and make the best of it.
Every iOS release since 7.o has felt extremely half-assed. iOS 6 and earlier felt much more polished and smooth performance and stability wise. Also, the current UI design of iOS is extremely half-assed and amateurish, it looks like Jony Ive and his team never bothered to finish it and basically decided "eh f**k it, Tim Cook won't actually care and people will download it anyway and still buy the products that it runs on." Now that we are on 9.1, it looks like they don't have any intention of actually finishing and refining the design and they actually made in worse in some areas (I'm looking at you Music app).

On 5S, the stutter is fixed in app switcher. In rest of the place, it stutters exactly like iOS 9.1

So should we expect 1 place stutter to be fixed in every 0.1 update?

I know that would still be reasonable. They took entire version update 8 -> 9 to fix stutter in Weather app. :D

Make spotlight more "global". For example, when typing a movie title—spotlight should shows IMDB link, rating, etc. At the moment, only movies you already opened before from the app—indexed on spotlight. other than that, location, restaurant, places, etc would make it better.
This will cause more lag

Absolutely. But take a look at the amount of information Apple is able to put on the Apple Watch screen. Blizzard adapted Hearthstone, which was a desktop / tablet only game for phones.

Plus, the YouTube app already does Picture in Picture, so there's no reason Apple shouldn't be able to do it for all videos. I don't think we'll get everything that an iPad can do, but we'll get something.

Different system wide themes (apple created and third party).

Improved stability and less bugs.

Improved notifications centre, the current system is a joke compared to android.

Just used Firefox on my iPad. It does tabs so much better than Safari. Open up a lot of tabs on Safari and then Firefox, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Only cons with Firefox right now. It stutter when scrooling down pages :/ even on 6 plus :(
