I don't want to get any hopes up if nothings gonna happen, but I've been monitoring the ping time of developer.apple.com and its usually 30ms. And now there is a lot of 130ms.... Maybe something is happening server side...
This method of investigation is new to me, but I wonder if it's just people querying it more often as it's around the 10am mark?

I have noticed that the software update check lasts longer around 10am, even when there isn't an update, and I've often wondered if it's because of people like me checking...

Trust me its an amateur way of checking and certainly could be from how many people are refreshing the page, but I believe the site does drop in response time when they're about to update it. This is my first time doing it this way I'd have to do it more often to see if I can spot any patterns.

how do you do this? traceroute?

Keep it up, I'm expecting sheets and sheets of data over the next few beta cycles :D

Not looking good.. 10.2.1 hit servers at 9:52am yesterday.
On the other hand plenty of releases that came closer to 10, with some a few minutes after, and even some up to 10 to 20 minutes after.
