Example:
Story line: mac rumors becomes the first to site to have non evil ads
By line: this story sponsored by State Farm. Are you in Good Hands?
Story here.

It's less annoying, you'd see it and since it's ultimately text it doesn't detract much from the browsing experience. The ad part can even be a link.
I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. It's less distracting, not in the way, and makes for a better reading experience. In fact, I'd give up my ad blockers if websites moved to that type of thing.

I block ads for the sole purpose of creating a better browsing experience. it just isn't as enjoyable as is.

Pages that show one or two paragraphs of an article and then you have to click through five pages just to read the entire article, when the whole thing could have fit on one page (more pages = more ads), is just insane. Or placing a huge ad every few paragraphs.. that just makes some folks lose focus for the article.

Or, the most hated example, waiting until you're on the second or third sentence of an article and dim the screen to show you a full-page ad that you have to go out of your way to dismiss.

Yes, it's out of control.. and I'll continue using my content blockers until someone wakes up and makes some much-needed changes.

Proof that marketing works. ;) When is someone going to write an adblocker that blocks the Purify marketing? :p
Everyone talks about Purify marketing. I haven't seen any Purify mark.. oh, wait, I'm using content blockers..

I bought purify and am not impressed. Get white spaces saying something about e-advertising net. Not showing with Adbomb. Think I gonna give it back

You should report the site to Purify, instead of doing away with the app.

Did it occur to you, that the site you linked to, is probably not one that a lot of people would go to in a U.S. based market, much less in other countries that aren't Argentina?

Adbomb doesn't properly handle every website either, even though it is still in beta. You report problems and give the developer a chance to fix them. If the problems don't get fixed, then consider looking elsewhere.

If you tell me how to report. Was looking around the app - no way to do that?

What has the us based site to do with it? Is that an us world. There is a lot of people outside of the US.

So far I have not found a site adbomb does not show well and for now its free

And stuff is excelently prepared. Even a MENÚ to report

You missed the point. Just because a content blocker fails to block an ad, or shows an empty ad box, (in your linked case) that doesn't mean the app is bad and should be tossed aside.

Adbomb is still in beta. I think you need to take a step back for a few moments, and get some perspective and clarity. Nothing wrong with liking an app (even if it is in beta). At the same time, you have to remain objective and look at the overall picture, in my opinion.

There is nothing wrong with Purify. it isn't perfect and the developer has never claimed that it blocks every add on the internet, or that it correctly renders a webpage after removing an ad. The internet is filled with millions upon millions of webpages. It depends on how a webpage was designed, as to whether or not a content blocker can render a page correctly.

I think you are very biased because of your love of Adbomb. And I think you are trying to hold Purify to an impossible standard.

Until Purify is updated, you will have to either email the developer directly of the problem, or contact him on Twitter.

I get your point. Dunno if I am biased but today on my sites - the ones I use - adbomb does a better job. And I am pretty international as I am german living in Peru and working all over Latinamerika.

Got an email of purify guy?

Dumb question here but how do you update Purify? App store only offers to open the app, and in Purify there is no update button. Please help a girl out.

Purify is only updated via App Store. If the App Store App shows you the current version 1.01 in the Update tab, you're fine.

I have been testing Crystal for the last few days and its been superb there are no options but it does what it says you can see the differnce in speed while out and about

I only just found out about content blockers, through one of my other posts!

Installed Crystal on my iPhone 6, so hopefully I'll see improvements (especially at gym, where the signal is quite bad).

Shame these don't work on 32bit devices, as my iPad 4 could really do with one.

How has Crystal worked out for you?

Thanks so much. That is what it is showing. I thought I missed something somewhere.

unistall ABP. it is sh*t.

install uBlock Origin in your PC/MAC.
install Purify in iOS.

No you don't need to run it in background. iOS does all the work.

Can you provide a link where I can get ublock? The link I searched and dled from will not install the software on my MACBOOK PRO.

According to the developer of Purify, the next update (not speaking of the one just released) will include in app feedback and social blocking etc.

Purify App ‏@purify_app 10m10 minutes ago
@tosla Coming next update along with social button blocking and more!

AWESOME news. I am really in love with this app. It was the only that really worked perfectly for me.

So happy to see Chris working on the right improvements. Thanks Chris

I tried the free version of 1blocker for 3 days. It worked well but eventually I just paid for Purify. £3 barely buys a cup of coffee these days!

Purify takes out the white space and blocks sponsored ads. It's been updated already too. Only 5 days in.

There is apparently (at least) one out there that will work on 32 bit iOS devices but you have to compile it yourself in Xcode then install it from there. By all accounts it works just fine so why Apple have restricted them to 64 bit only is a bit baffling. Other than making newer devices appear faster and start people wanting to upgrade.

The thing I'm getting puzzled about with all this content blocking furore that's going on is the world seems to be reacting in a way implying that iOS users are going to ruin websites and put people out on the streets now we have them. It's not like the desktop and Android worlds haven't been fully embracing them for years is it? And if they're saying it's going to be that big a hit to them then I put it to them that they've been tailoring their ads to iOS users knowing they were the only group unable, until now, to block the insidious things.
