What we need, is an app that will allow us to click on an ad, and automatically add the ad to the user's personal block list. A lot of users don't know where to put information in the custom rules section. Having this ability would help take the load off the developer to correct a site, as well as empowering the user of the app.

Now that would be cool!

The developer could create the ability via the Safari share sheet. Click on an ad, and the share sheet for the app comes up. Click on the app and then you are offered certain options as to how to handle video, text, fonts, ads etc. And depending on which option you chose, it would then send the new rule to the correct section of the app.

In regards to the aforementioned, users need to be able to back up their custom rules. A developer can create the in app option to save the app rule package to the computer, Dropbox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive for safe keeping. Automatic backup of custom rules. That way, if a user needs to reinstall the app, he or she can easily input the custom user rules list into the app.

Edited to add: The first developer that can make this happen will have a gold mine, in my opinion.

I just sent this feature request to the AdMop and Silentium devs. Maybe they can implement it?

Thanks for sharing!

That would interfere with the ability to open links. If the ad isn't already blocked then the blocker doesn't recognize it as an ad - it's just another link. It would be very difficult to train the blocker to differentiate between unblocked ads and valid links - if it detects an unblocked ad then it may as well block it to begin with. What's to keep the share sheet from coming up when you tap a valid link in Google or at Apple.com?

To be honest, I wouldn't want such a feature.

ABP is now available. This is the one by Eyeo that gives you a choice to shut off acceptable ads.

Adblock Plus (ABP) by Eyeo

Tested it now: it is what i expected, it is SH*T.

Even with 'acceptable ads' disabled, it shows ads!!!!!!!!

people, dont use this. this company is evil and don't deserve our support.

If you want the best free adblocker try AdBlock Fast.

Tried ABP and found it to be good as far as ad-blocking is concerned. It's slower than other blockers, though. Especially the slower scrolling speed (iPad Air) on heavy sites is annoying. I'm using Adamant now, which is among the fastest and most thorough blockers I tested. I download it when it was free with IAP. Now that it costs money, it seems I have been grandfathered into the full version.

How did you check the data usage for loading individual site?

Has anyone noticed that Yahoo is changing up its homepage, after you visit it the first time in its original format? Of course, when it changes banner and sponsored ads get through.

I wonder if Yahoo is fighting back against the adblockers? Haha

I want to make a sugestion to BasicGreatGuy:

In your next reviews, add the amount of downloaded data to the review.

This way we can see which blocker is blocking more data. Thx
