At least it was just Costco and groceries. It’s when it starts doing it for takeaway and fast food places that you have to worry!
We had a spell years ago where in the course of a few sundays we popped to friends for sunday lunch, the Sunday after the last visit i was sat at home and my phone popped up a notification telling me the travel time to their house as it presumed i would be going there again as it started to look like a regular journey.

Hmmm...my “home” navigation prompt always works for me.

I actually freaked out yesterday when I got I. The car and it suggested a route to Costco when I opened maps on CarPlay...yes, I actually was going to Costco.

Then, when leaving Costco, instead of suggesting a route home, it suggested a route to my local grocery store instead.

Damn you Apple...yes, I typically go to my local grocery store after Costco to get other stuff from there.

It knows me too well at this point.

Red or Blue?

I see that the Map in the UK is supposed to include "Flight Status". I think this was released in iOS 13 for the US. How does this work? I cannot find a way go get flight status, either from a spotlight search or through the Maps app.

  • Flight status uses on-device Siri intelligence to scan for information stored in Mail, Calendar, or Wallet, and proactively serves flight information for terminals, gate locations, and departure times, as well as flight changes or cancellations for upcoming travel.

Worked for me back when I was actually flying places. As long as you let it, Siri will look for flight info. I would always have it add the info to my calendar. When it came time for my flight, I would open Maps and it would give me directions to the airport as well as the flight info right in the app. I was flying a lot, so I always used the airline app for much more detailed info, but when leaving a meeting in a strange city, it was nice to have directions to the airport already entered.

Found some old screen shots on my phone.

BTW...is anybody else experiencing any odd visual glitches on Apple Maps over the past two days? The text inside a number of different highway shields for parkways in the New York City area is now missing, and depending on my zoom level, I sometimes see odd street names showing up in places where there aren't any streets. This is happening on my phone, as well as on CarPlay.

Rebooting didn't fix it. They must be doing something behind the scenes again...let's see if any new testing grounds pop up in Canada or Europe.

Not sure if it’s related but spotted this yesterday and can’t quite work out how to report. The Daventry in the bottom right is correct but the one in the top right is wrong and is called Long Buckby. When you zoom in it is there.

Just drop a pin on that spot so you can report an issue at the pin.

Part of Lake Michigan disappeared 😂

Speculation from Justin O'Bierne that this could have something to do with Canada's expansion. Possibly a sign that it's on the way

Just remember, you heard it here first.

Like a clock, I’m at least “correct” twice a day...I only hope we don’t have to wait 6 weeks for full release (or I hope I get the release early!)
I do wonder how long this one'll take. When I was reading Justin's post about Canada, he pointed out that while the land area is HUGE...the "stuff" in that land area is less. I could actually imagine this one going somewhat quickly.

Definitely! It's roads and buildings that drive the time factor here IMHO.

One of the reasons I can't wait to see how they handle Europe.

Can't see Canada yet. But the timing makes sense. As I said earlier, when weird things are happening to Apple Maps during use, it usually means changes are taking place on the back end.
