It still seems to take Apple a really long time to correct issues regarding road layouts, or the way the map affects navigation instructions. I've been trying for at least 18 months to get a few things corrected in New York City, but to no avail.

I’ve had three that I submitted in the last couple of months followed up on via email. That’s unusual for me, but they wanted more detail for the corrections.

Something I had been fighting for more than a year to have changed was finally corrected recently...but they took my suggestion and only half implemented it. They added in new (correct) information, but left the incorrect information as well. *facepalm*

I am still waiting for the update of the cartography of Italy ... I hope it will arrive by the end of the year, even if I am starting to lose hope...

Boy...a follow up email today to the follow up email they sent last week. They are trying to understand the entrance to a restaurant I corrected. It actually is very confusing based on the street address. But it's 40 minutes away and they want me to go there and take a picture with my iPhone so the have the location data. Not gonna happen...

You are lucky to get a reply for your corrections to POI (entrance to a restaurant).

I submitted corrections to alternative route and also the entrance location of a metro station (should be of more concern as compared to a restaurant I think), but yet no response from Apple since last year. I guess I have to wait forever!

they are quick to respond issues of missing places though.

But you are not in a new Maps area, correct?

Sorry for being a pedant but the United Kingdom/Ireland isn’t the same country just as Spain and Portugal aren’t the same country. So Ireland should be listed separately under I. Gibraltar is most definitely not part of Spain either (!!!), so should probably be listed under the UK (along with the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey), or separately. The Azores and Medeira are part of Portugal, not Spain.

Hoping they add bike routes...not because I ever use them, but to shut up people saying Apple Maps suck because Google Maps has bike routing. ;)

But seriously, add bike routing.

And I want multiple entrance edits back. What a tease to have them in the early iOS 13 betas only to pull them.

And it will never happen, but I'd love for Apple to designate certain Apple I.D. folks (just for verification reasons) as "super users" or trusted resources that have priority when submitting corrections or are allowed to have corrections auto approve to be checked later so updates can occur at a faster pace.

And a web version....not much...just these and I'll be happy.
Maybe Apple will add those in WWDC21

Hmm , it is a bit politically sensitive, like to display as a separate option for the selection in a list of countries.

Understood…as a side note, the first post is a “Wiki” post, so anyone with enough posts on MacRumors can adjust/correct.

I will make the appropriate changes based on the notes above. Most were done quickly based on other info and no offense was intended.

I’ve done it. Apologies I didn’t realise I could edit the post.

Does anyone else's Apple Maps cause Car Play to crash? I've had this issue ever since the first release and I feel like Apple is ignoring it. I drive a Honda by the way.

This is the first I’m hearing of it on here…you may want to check the CarPlay and AppleMaps subreddits in Reddit though.

I've had it crash on me occasionally ever since the early beta's of iOS14 really. If you are navigating in Maps and leave the app to go to something else within CarPlay then go back to Maps it crashes then reloads and starts the navigation again. Doesnt happen that often but occasionally. I notice it more when i switch to have a look at Google Maps\Waze, not navigating, which i also have just to compare things like traffic etc then go back to Apple Maps.

I drive a Vauxhall, same as a Buick Regal in the US when i bought mine, but think it may have happened to me driving the VW Passat we currently have on loan as well. Its also happened to me on a few different Vauxhalls i've driven since the early iOS 14 betas. On the betas it happened quite a bit then settled down but happened a few times recently.

Same thing for me, in a brand new BMW.
As it recovers automatically, and it only happened a couple of times (while using it almost all the time), it’s not that big of a deal to me…
