By that logic, why even complain about the government or the problems plaguing the community we are part of? We can just leave; no one forces you to stay. That is flawed logic because, even though, you are not forced or you do not absolutely need to own Apple product or to live in your country, there is a switching cost. That cost does not make switching painless and easy.
"Opportunist: all businesses are. Name a business that is not." It depends on your definition and on the degree but you'd be surprised, even though, most multinationals, publicly traded businesses are opportunistic to a predatory level.
Buying an Apple product is not equal deciding on citizenship. If there is a flaw, it's your logic.
Again, name one business that is not opportunist.
Specific chipset could be the same but it takes more time and effort to come up with something to fit within the tight space of a phone to begin with.
Then they just put it in an iPad and fill the rest of the space with battery.
That sure sucks if you were waiting on pulling the trigger on an iPad Pro. It seems Apple has jacked the prices up on NON base model iPad Pro's by $50. I was on the fence but this seals the deal, I will make 64GB work. B&H Photo still has that on sale for $619 compared to now $799 for the 256GB model.
Now that has put my order at Aus$1699! Up from $1629. Phone call tomorrow to see if they will honor the order date price.

My 10.5", 512 was ordered first week of September and was due 7th which was pushed out to the 14th now supposedly due 21st. Phone call tomorrow to make sure the price remains at the ordered price. Either way the $50 extra (on the 256 & 512) so soon after release it pretty poor form in my opinion. I may even reconsider if the price increase is passed on to me which is likely. More a principal thing with me.
I bought my 10.5” 256GB LTE model the day it came out so I don’t mind only because of that, otherwise it’s pretty shady of Apple
$50 is nothing compared to the £400 increase they put on the iMac 27" in the UK recently because of currency fluctuations, but it doesn't really bother me what Apple do with their pricing - I look at the price when I'm buying something and if I'm happy with it, I'll buy; if I'm not, I won't.
I missed both of those increases having purchased just before they hit but I'm sure I'll get caught out by one some time in the future

I bought my 10.5 256gig wifi model for $779 yesterday and got the Beats X ($150) for free. That works for me. Go through the Apple education site. Offer ends 9/25

It's purely the principal of it for me and, doing it on the quiet the same day as the keynote plus, on an item that is a recent release. Poor form in my book, but that's their perogative.
I think its messed up to increase a product price mid cycle. If I didnt have an iPad Pro, and was considering one, this would have definitely deterred me. Im well aware of the production environment and the fluctuation of costs of of raw materials, but I feel like apple's profit margins are high enough to absorb the cost.
If you worked for even a fraction of the amount of time you spend making threads on this forum the $50 wouldn't bother you. Look through your post history and ask yourself if all that has been worth it.
I am yet to take a plunge on buying the iPad Pro 10.5" I have my reasons to wait ! So it does bother me...and so I have expressed my agony...and Pain !!
Some retailers will give a discount sooner than later. Really a non issue, just buy it from one of those. I don’t bother to go by Apple’s pricing logic, someone always offers a discount if you look hard enough. There is no advantage to buying direct from Apple.
They are not equal -- it is an analogy. If you think that they have to be equal in order for the analogy to be valid, then your logic is flawed. By the way, you can live elsewhere without revoking your citizenship.
