Same here...have the same issue even after the new IOS update.
But as @tbayrgs pointed out I can turn the 12PM sideways and it work just fine. It must be the location of the wireless charging unit in the 12PM is different so not all wireless chargers will work now.

I am not going to buy new wireless charging units just for the 12PM that is dumb. I have 5 scattered through my house that work just fine.

It is odd, the wireless Samsung duo works fine though. I tried my spigen case and it was no different on the Belkin.

Like belkin are saying wait for our MagSafe charger lol

I’ve gotten used to the 60hz but i would be lying if i said i couldn’t tell the difference. I do think how apple do their devices it is still very smooth though due to the animations being better but going from iPad Pro or fold you can tell the difference. I still use my phone the same though so for me it’s not as big of a deal as i was making out before i must admit.

still would love to have it and i would upgrade next year for this alone in fairness.
I can definitely tell the difference when popping my sim back in the Fold or N20 ultra but it's not as much of a difference coming from the 12 Pro Max as it is with other devices. This thing is smooth and fast. Only occasionally notice it if browsing through my photos real fast or scrolling on chrome or Safari fast and it's really not that bad. Definitely would be nice to have 120hz but this is still a really nice device even without it and I appreciate every bit of battery life I can get out of it.

So Apple have released Air Pods Max that retail for £550. That would be a **** no, especially with that stupid looking headband. lol

Yeah, Apple’s pricing often tends towards the ridiculous with many of their products but recently, they’ve been really testing those bounds. The MagSafe Duo at $129 (really $148 after purchasing a USB-C 20W adapter ) and now these at $550 USD.

I have a pair of the Sony MX4 and they’re brilliant—exceptional noise cancellation with easily accessible ambient mode, really good battery life, super comfortable, charge with USB-C, have a dedicated app with loads of configurables, multi-pairing so I can seamlessly switch between 2 devices, a traditional headphone port for wired usage, and they fold up neatly into a reasonably sized hard case. The only area they lack when compared to using Apple headphones is the seamless switching between all of my Apple devices (limit to two with the Sonys). And I was able to pick them up for $284 (currently $279 on Amazon US)—literally half the price.

.
.
.
.
.

So yeah....I have an order placed for the AirPods Max in Space Gray set to arrive next week. ?

Full transparency—I have access to an Apple Employee’s discount so I decided to give them a test drive to compare to the Sonys. As much as I love quite a lot of Apple’s gear, I fully expect to be sending these back before the end of the extended holiday return period on January 8. I just wanted to see if there really is anything to all of Apple’s claims. Short of the aforementioned ability to quickly switch amongst all of my Apple devices, I can’t see how these surpass the Sonys in any other way.

For that price I don't care how they sound. I can buy two or three others for that price.

And sorry, to send back earbuds is nasty. I'd never buy used earbuds that go in someone else's ear. But that's me.
Wonder when Apple is going to lose that stem on their buds? I don't like that either.

I see nothing in the design or specs that justify that price tag. Thats insane. There are much better headphones available for half that price. If you buy those, you're buying it for the Apple branding. Unless I'm missing something.

These aren’t earbuds...they‘re over the ear headphones. Also, Apple doesn’t resell return items as ‘open box’. If they do sell them, it’ll be as refurbished after a servicing. And the ear pads magnetically attach and are removable so those would be brand new.

But yeah, agree wholeheartedly that the pricing is pretty ridiculous. These would have do be pretty spectacular in some regard for me to even consider keeping them and on paper, don’t see what that could be. I am curious though so no harm in test driving them.

I bet they still sell quite a few units. But anyone who wants top quality noise cancelling over ears should be looking no further than Sony XM3/4 & Bose QC 35ii for a heck of a lot less money.

Beats are alot cheaper, even their best ones. Those sound pretty good and sometimes they are on sale for $199 but kinda rare.
I have two JBL sets of over ear wireless headphones and the Beats are better though not way better.

Yup, second the recommendation for the Sony XM4...really no glaring weaknesses. Mine have been terrific.

Sigh. Here I am again, a month or so into iPhone ownership, bored and with the Android itch... lol.

I know that I prefer Android as an OS. I just don’t think I can be bothered with the faff of selling and buying something! 🙄

This is exactly why I haven't picked up an iPhone 12 Pro Max or 12 Pro yet. I'm a big Nexus / Pixel, or OnePlus OS guy, it's just so smooth and comfortable to use stock Android type UI. But I do get sucked into the new shiny Apple hype for the brand new iPhone, it is a very good looking phone, no doubt. Super high quality build.

Why is everyone creaming their pants over how radically new the iPhone 12's are? Only thing that's changed is the sides now go back to the blocky square edge instead of the curved rounded edges, everything else looks the same once you slap a case on it. The big ugly notch, and the god awful Fisher Price OS that hasn't changed in years.

2021 looks like a super Android phone year, with the next gen Snapdragon 888 shocking everyone being a massive upgrade and more efficient, and phones like the Galaxy S21 and OnePlus 9 Pro look like amazing devices coming

So took delivery of the AirPods Max today. Have only had them out of the box for less than an hour so very initial impressions:
  • Terrific fit, finish and feel. The materials used feel very premium and even things like the sliding of the arms and articulation has weight and purpose to it. Button and digital crown have very solid movement and click action.
  • They’re noticeably heavy compared to other popular options (I have had a couple of Sony models including the latest XM4, Bose QC35 II, and Beats Studio 3). It’s understandable considering the competition are nearly all plastic but again, it‘s obvious the first time you handle them. That being said, I didn’t find them heavy or unwieldy when wearing them. Of course, I’ll have to test wearing them for longer periods to see if that changes over time.
  • I found them to be really comfortable. They don’t squeeze hard on my head and the mesh band at the top does a surprisingly good job of distributing that weight across your head.
  • Sound qualiy—far too early to tell but the first handful of songs I tested sounded quite good. And even though I’ve used it a few times on my AirPods Pro, Spatial Audio is quite cool and messes with your mind. When noise cancellation is active, I can’t really even hear my own voice when speaking—also, quite wierd.
  • The case is just stupid. It looks just as dumb in person and feels very much like the same material used on the iPad keyboards, which means it’s going to smudge and attract oily spots that don’t clean off super easily. The fact that you have to put them back in the case (use that term quite loosely as it really doesn’t cover much of the headphones, and does nothing to protect the most vulnerable parts) to put them to sleep is a really poor choice by Apple. They could‘ve kept this functionality if they wanted to put absolutely should have added one more button—a power button to be able to shut them off entirely. And unlike most other headphones, they don’t fold up to any smaller of a footprint. If I do end up keeping these, I’m going to have to find an appropriate size soft bag to slide them into if they’re going in my backpack or messenger bag.
I’ll test them more thoroughly over the next few weeks as I have until January 8. They feel really nice, appear to offer very good sound quality but the form factor is very much a possible deal breaker. And even with the 25% discount I was able to use, they’re really pricey.

Strangely, the iPhone 12 Pro is the first phone I actually prefer with a case on.
I normally am not a case guy, but picked up a cheap clear case from Amazon after the official silicone one just kept crumbling away.

With cases, I often end up taking them off as I much prefer phones naked, but I really don’t like the feel of the 12 in hand. I think it’s the flat sides as my sister asked me to replace her screen protector on her 11 Pro last week and holding that was so much nicer in my hand.
I think the flat sides look better, but the feel in hand is way more comfortable on the 11 Pro to me as it just sits in the palm a lot nicer.

Fully agree. Aesthetically the 12 pro max is a nicer shape in my eyes but the actual handling / feel aspect isn’t as nice as the 11 pro max

By all accounts, they're very good headphones. No way I could spend that much (or even a fraction of) on something that forces you to use the stupidest of cases to stop the battery draining when not in use. Hopefully 3rd party alternatives aren't too far away for owners.

Forcing you to use a product is one thing, but when it looks so terrible, offers no protection and awkward to use is ridiculous. Even for Apple. When did Apple start hiring 6 year olds to work on their designs?

Yup, the case is the biggest issue I’m having with these headphones, though admittedly it’s a pretty minor one at the moment because I’m not using them outside of my house. Adding a simple power button to fully shut them off would’ve at least gotten part of the way there as I’ve ordered a third party headphone case that was pretty inexpensive and would solve the portable protection issue.
