Eh, its different. Google are taking your data and using it to tailor ads and to sell to companies to see what consumers want.

Facebook on the other hand are trying to manipulate the data to alter your feelings, whether you receive factual news or ********, and do anything to keep you viewing their site longer. They essentially build a simulated version of each user and themore data they get from you the more they tweak your character. Its creepy.
They tweak your feed based on the info you provide though...much like Insta and Tik Tok does with your browsing the apps.
The more you browse for one thing...it becomes all you see.
Then if you look at news reporting whether it be digital or through the airwaves or video, the same thing is being done.
There is no factual reporting...it is all slanted in one way or another.

Look at the current events in the US. Watch one news reporting outlet and you get a slant on the news based on the networks beliefs. Change the channel and you get a different slant on the same events. Then watch an overseas station and get a whole different take on the same events from outside reporting.

We live in a world where the facts/data are being skewed and what we see and how it is presented is not always accurate.

Sorry...I went down the rabbit hole a bit there.

But yes...what FB does is creepy

I remember old batman vs joker movies (if I’m not wrong), with the creepy hynosis thorugh tv channel show :v

And also, with all news, weird analyse report, forum discussion, etc, they are doing the same thing as you put as - driving opinion. Some diff here and there, but the main concept is the same

Remember sometimes back, i read an article mentioned that fb guy will become one of the most powerful guy in the world :)

So, do we want to stay at home because of the creepy night ? Or be aware, and enjoy life :)

You can send just about anything just as I've previously said, the issue is opening up within iMessage.

Let's make sure we are both clear. 3 chat groups.. it's similar to 3 different chat threads, therefore in one particular chat thread... photos are combined in one album/view.

I’m sorry, i confused. I want to reconfirm, 1 family chat group, 1 friends chat group, 1 work chat group, for the picture album view, all pictures are combined to 1 thread/tab ? Not seperated as per the origin chat/group/thread ?

One family chat/thread, One friends chat/thread and one work chat/thread. That would be 3 threads seperately... based off it's thread. And you can view pictures for each thread in the info tab.

For sure. The modern media is a joke. Its so hard to dig through bias to get to pure facts.

Personally I get my news from AP because I find it to be the least bias of the major new sources. But thats just personal preference.

Mostly just curiosity. I enjoyed my S8, but only kept it around for a year.

I'm a light user so I don't do anything particular that favors one phone over the other - aside from my workplace and family being extensive iMessage users. I primarily use Google email and cloud services too. I'm hopeful that on Android, Spotify will play nicer with the old BMW iDrive in my car and allow me to see track info and skip/rewind. I don't play games on my phone much but, I'm excited that I'll be able to load up an emulator and just play some Sega Genesis when I'm bored now too. The camera also looks to be a huge upgrade from my XR.

Update:

Getting myself set up on Android was not particularly difficult at all. I love the 90hz screen and overall size of the phone. I had a hunch that I wouldn't really care that much about many of the differences between Android and iOS and that still remains true. Don't love the texture on the back the some way others do. Battery life is excellent yadda yadda I'm sure you all have seen reviews about what's good on this phone. Notifications, the app drawer, Google Assistant, and the home screen are all significantly nicer than the iOS equivelants. Feels very efficient.

I am really unimpressed with the video capabilities of the phone and the processing time to make tweaks actually does irritate me. Which is kind of killer because I'm pretty happy with the still photography, despite the fact that the viewfinder rarely shows me what I'm actually getting.

For all the customization I can do to Android I can't bring myself to stick with anything other than stock for 15 minutes. I also notice slightly worse app reliability (Spotify downloads don't work all the time) and minor stuttering here and there. And I do already miss iMessage.

Overall a good phone, I'll continue to use it and re-evaluate at the end of the return period.

My LG V60 is used for manga, anime, Twitter, Facebook, games, and YouTube with headphones since it's got a quad DAC. My iPhone is the only device that'll connect to my car so for music and GPS, I can't use the LG. The speakers are better on the iPhone, so calls and music are clearer but also louder. I'm stuck with iMessage and location because my husband also uses an iPhone. My bank and email are also on the iPhone. So I'm pretty much evenly split, using Android at home mostly but iPhone mostly on outings.

It's really crazy how I can no longer just be satisfied in one ecosystem.

I really couldn’t be bothered carrying two phones and using 2 different ecosystems. As they both pretty much deliver the fundamentals demanded in modern smartphones, I’m happy just to pick one and stick to it.

I really wish I could be that way again. I'm entirely complicated and it shows in my electronics.

I woke up missing AOD showing me the weather from the lock screen, since moving to iphone I haven't been able to set it up properly.

Gotta say considering going back and stop procrastinating. I spent 1k on the 11 pro in August (256) gig so it's a big step down going back and spending another 1k on a Note 20 Ultra or something similar.
There is Way for weather to show on lockscreen. But you have to set up the bedtime feature in alarms.

Yes it’s not the same. Pretty sure iPhone 13 will get AOD since the screen is rumored to be variable refresh rate.
yeah but interesting how always on display will work on the iPhone though as we know it won't be the same as android. maybe it will just be the time and date

Same here , depending on my mood sometimes i might swap out from iphone ussage and use an android (i still have my samsung galaxy s10+ which is still working very well , i used it for a good 6 months then got an iphone XS Max. So using them both, I love em both, i can't fault them for what i use it for.

So I switch between my iPhone and my note 20 ultra. Every time I switch from my android to my iPhone, my visual voicemail doesn’t work on my iPhone nor do I get notifications that I have a voicemail. I have to call Verizon and have them reprovision/reset my voicemail.

How do you guys switch and not have voicemail issues ?? I’m with Verizon.

After exactly three months with the Note20 Ultra I have to say I do not regret the switch in the slightest, the phone is great and to be perfectly honest feels way more modern than the latest iPhones (I think the high refresh rate as well as better use of the screen real estate on the Note are the most important to me here)... On the other hand, smartphones got so similar that those fine differences between makers and operating systems are not as pronounced as they used to be a few years ago - even switching from iOS to Android was a breeze and I encountered no issues at all. So I might be switching between Android and iOS in the years to come, but for now I have no plans to upgrade for the next two years.

I agree. Switching between the two is not as drastic as it once was, primarily because both tries to make their experiences the same. They borrow from each other and that only helps us as users. Critics really have to nitpick to find the differences between the two. But if I had an iPhone, I wouldn’t be critical about it... I enjoy iOS. I just feel after years of owning it. I wanted more versatility from an OS standpoint, as far as hardware... the iPhone is superb.

But as of now... just as you mention. I’m perfectly alright with keeping this Fold2 for the next 2 years, I’m just hoping Samsung improves on the pace of updates. That’s the only achilles heel with this device.

WWDC was alright, but there are several small things about iOS 15 that weren’t mentioned that I’m excited about: Pull-to-refresh for Safari, screen share for FaceTime, locate phone when turned off, and a few others. Also, the quick note feature, the new Safari tabs, and Universal Control are excellent.

I wanted an entire overhaul of the lockscreen, notifications, Messages, and the ability to place apps anywhere on the Home screen, but I guess not. Sigh. Oh, and I wanted AOD, but I think they’ll announce it in September and make it a feature for the new iPhone only.

But I love all of the privacy features coming to the Mail app and Safari. Sure, the event wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to make me return my Pixel today. I just love all of the small privacy and OS refinements Apple does. I need to admit to myself that I’m purely an iPhone person.
