Still, what's keeping me from buying this phone, is that it only has a S801 and a few months down the road, the Note 4 will include a QHD display and the S805. The biggest improvement of the S805 is the GPU and I'll feel better about spending $700 on a QHD phone with a S805.

This is how I feel as well. As much as I like the G3 and some of its features, it doesn't feel like much of an upgrade coming from my S800/330 on my Nexus 5 to the S801/330 on the G3.

It won't happen since it's to early but wishing Samsung would surprise everyone and include the S810 on the Note 4.

I honestly would not be surprised if Samsung conveniently leaves out OIS on the Note 4. They always seem to get away with that kind of thing.

So what is the difference between the Snapdragon 800 and the 801 ?

----------

G3 is too big and heavy IMO. It's close to phablet big.

Sad to see this continuing trend of large and heavy flagships in 2014.
Depends....if you have a M8, its actually lighter and about the same size asside from a few mm wider. Dont know what you have though.

The phone looks like a winner. Once again, then G series is better than the S series. Too bad, LG will sell way less than Samsung.

As far as I know, the GPU is clocked higher, and there are some battery savings.

Yeah, it seems once again HTC, LG, and Sony have all come out with better phones, but Samsung will outsell them all combined.

It's stupid. And unfair.

I dont think its "unfair" they just need to figure out how to make the masses think they have the superior product.

Samsung have done a very very good job in marketing the Galaxy S and Note series, take Sony for example  still no official xperia z2 release in the states and most of the world.

For what is worth, ive started to see commercials for LG phone recently in my country for the first time :) so hopefully they do the same in the rest of the world and push sells

I agree....but what is interesting is why don;t they? I mean they get all the marketing info that we guess or figure out ourselves. They have a very highly paid staff to promote their products. Why not advertise? It makes no sense to me. They don't have to spend as much as Samsung or Apple does but they need to have a presence. Advertising that is informative that shows how good their products are in everyday uses.

I think I will sell my 5S and my G2 and get the G3. Why not right? The G2 has a lot of great features and the G3 is only going to be better.

For all the iPhone is the best phone, I may get the iPhone 6 when it comes out but probably wait for the iPhone 6s with the larger 5.5 screen.

A S810 on the Note 4 would be a huge surpise, not doubt about it, but it's only wishful thinking lol :D

Beautiful phone. I loved my G2, but I couldn't stand the buttons on the rear, just could never get used to them. Also lack of a stylus drove me towards the Note 3. Same issue with the G3, great phone but just not for my needs.

While no experience with this one, I still feel the M8 will win out for me. I cannot say it doesn't knock my socks off but then again maybe I can regardless.

The next Moto X or the iphone 6? We will see.

The G2 was nice and the G3 looks to be as well but the rear buttons kill it for me

Thanks for the link. LG G3 looks great compared to others. I do not know exact light conditions. But I am able to get better pics out of S5 (sharper than pic here). It is very difficult to understand exact focus point/plane in these pics. It looks like as if these pics are taken without focusing / not focusing on same object.

I was really speaking about this current trend as a whole. IMO S5, M8, Z2, and G3 are disappointingly big and heavy. The G3 is borderline phablet big.

I have a Nexus 5 and I'm seriously considering a Moto X because of its smaller footprint.

I have a G2 and i love it, but the Moto X size is perfect. I'm very interested in the G3, but it might be too big. I wish the mini versions of these phones had the same high end hardware.
