loving the camera technology!
Dedicated flashes use lasers to help auto focusing in very low light. It is good to see that functionality appearing on phones. I am not sure how much it helps considering sensor is more limiting as well in low light. LG also added faster glass to G3 (F2.0). It should help in lot of low light situations. I am hoping that some one include flash sync mechanism in phones to make use of dedicated flashes. That will be awesome. These cameras in phones (S5) works very well in good light (flash/day light) situations.

Much better phone than S5 and M8 for sure IMO.
Screen is the best among them. I think it is bigger/thicker than S5 and M8. But it gets you lot of bigger screen area. Will ATT allow placing orders immediately. I have another 4 days to return S5 and get this one.

Wonder how battery life will actually be. I'll be waiting for MKHBD's review. Seriously considering this to be my next phone if Apple disappoints.

Well they are claiming improvement of 30% that I saw and the G2 already had amazing battery life

Not super impressed with the G3 now. It is more in line with the M8 and S5 hardware wise, not the super phone from the future everyone was hoping for. But could be worse than those other flagship phones, due to the high res 1440p display, what kind of battery drain will that be ? I am surprised the G3 didn't get the awesome 805 Processor, which I thought is supposed to be specifically designed to handle 1440p display resolutions.

I think the next hot phone is the HTC One M8 Prime;

- Snapdragon 805
- 3GB RAM
- 5.5" 1440p screen
- Android 4.4.3
- Sense 6.5
- 18mp camera

The new G3 just seems more of the same, with the exact same hardware as the S5 and M8, just a high resolution version.

Meh..... So plastic after the hype of metal. Weird sku choices regarding 16/32gb 2gb/3gb ram.. and judging from few videos only thing to take advantage of the high res screen is the wallpaper and a few stock apps. Oh and LGs skin despite flatter icons looks like it has as many useless gimmick animations as it ever did.... Feel like Homer Simpson designed it with plenty of starwipes added... After so much hype, it's just another LG phone....

Wonder if we will see a Google Play edition ?

Lame, not only does the phone not impress, we don't even know when we can get one? I think by the time this is available something better will be right around the corner. I'll probably sit this one out.

Nice. May be a bit too big for my liking but i think its a nice phone. I see questions about the battery life. Seriously, ....the G2 battery life was insane! I see no reason why this would be much different. Even if it is a little worse due to upgrades, it should still be great.

My favorites upgrades are the removable back with a MicrSD slot. Dont like aluminum backs.

still have battery life and software concerns
maybe even performance concerns, dont understand the need for that resolution

That quad screen brings concern. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh no!

Again with the overheating issue as in the G2????:mad::mad:

Then I'm almost out.

I saw that issue when I was trying the G2 at a store last year.

Yup, same concerns here as well. I'm sure I'll see plenty of criticism for this but IMO, the screen resolution is simply unnecessary overkill, a result of LG's need to say 'we offered it first' in a never-ending game of oneupsmanship vs. HTC and Samsung. There is little to no benefit at all having that resolution in device that size and at the cost of CPU/GPU and battery performance. And yes, battery performance may prove to be adequate, but how much better would it be if the resolution was dialed back to a still more that sufficient full HD.

Otherwise, I will admit that in comparison to the M8 and Galaxy S5, the G3 comes closest to offering the complete package. Still not a fan of plastic, though LG has done a slightly better job vs. Samsung, IMO.

Beautiful design, 5.5" QHD IPS display, 3GB ram, removable battery, wireless charging, microSD support, OIS+ w/ laser auto focus.

Yet, using a tweaked version of last years CPU/GPU from the G2 disappoints me. Will wait for reviews and how it performs but in the mean time, the waiting game will just make me become more interested in the upcoming Note 4..

If comparing only to the S5 and M8, the G3 would be a no brainer.

There is lot of bickering in android forums about 805 not having integrated LTE radios. They think, it is only suitable for tablets/bigger frame. May be 810 is the one we are looking for.

G3 is too big and heavy IMO. It's close to phablet big.

Sad to see this continuing trend of large and heavy flagships in 2014.

Agreed. In 2015 next year, the majority of the top Android phones will be 5.5" standard screen size. That may even happen this year still, with most the new phones supposed to be 5.5" this Summer / Fall.

G3 = 5.5"
One M8 Prime = 5.5"
S5 Prime = 5.5"
Note 4 = 5.7"
Nexus-Six = 5.2" minimum.

Lots of speculation here, 80% to be exact.
