Actually he says it's 'maybe' ... ;). Semantics change context greatly.

I don't know MRU....at the
8:58 minute mark he says "the LG G3 is the flagship i would pick of 2014 so far"

At the 9:12 mark he clearly says " the LG G3 is the best flagship you can buy right now"

Then at the 9:35 mark he says "is it the best Android phone you can buy right now? Maybe"

You are 100% right! He is planting suggestions for us to "go buy it........you know you want to.....you know you need to....just buy it....."

Off topic: I saw episode of House Hunters last night. The people were moving from Arizona by where i live to Ireland. I told my sons I know a guy on the MR forums that lives there! The landscape was beautiful So green and colorful!

Yeah it's only green because of the rain ...... You can get sick of green :D :p

Though I do live in a very tourism centric county, was once asked by a group of Americans "do we have any <phonetically> *La Pre Shuns* around here ? "

I looked at my friend / college puzzled and they looked puzzled back. Asked to repeat and they ask about the *La Pre Shuns* again ..... It took a good couple of minutes before we figured out they were asking about Leprechauns ....... :D:D:D

----------

Just set aside some of that green and get one. You know you will anyway, its inevitable, like the tide. It'll go great with your new 3 smartwatches ;)

Lol, I'm really tempted.. too much so. Found an italian site offering the G3 16GB model for €450 ........

lol agree with you there! I come from a small town in Colorado called Durango. It is a huge tourist destination. Featuring the old west feel and attractions. We had lots of European tourists that thought everyone that lived there would be wearing cowboy hats boots and wear six shooters! Old west style! :)

Hehe.... When I lived in the states and was telling people in school about Sweden (where I'm from), a bunch of people literally believed me when I said we had to watch out for polar bears on the streets, and that we didn't have phones yet! That was in 5th grade but still.... :D

But yeah, the hilariousness goes both ways! And just fyi I have nothing but <3 for the US and its strange inhabitants :)

I love people of all kinds. I love to people watch..... it is amazing how much you can learn and grow from watching and talking to people from different places. When I travel.....i always try to not be "that funny tourist" guy. But probably am anyway! :D

You can always spot American tourists in my local city of Lincoln. Being a thousand years old the map of roads and streets looks like someone dumped a plate of spaghetti onto the table. They travel in packs, dressed head to toe in bright waterproof clothing in case it rains, even during the height of summer, clutching a waterproof map tied around their neck, looking hopelessly lost.

OMG I know it very well. Went to Lincolnshire & Humberside university campus there ... The tourists your on about are usually walking the older narrow streets going up the hill and up to the Cathedral :)

Lincoln's a cracking city ... :D Though at times I had to go into Hull (ours was a transitional year when the media campus moved) and that city (Hull) is a hole .......

Also used to go to Skeggy, Cleethorpes & Mablethorpe on holiday as a kid .... Once ended up with my mother and stepfather on a nudist beach outside of mablethorpe .... My mother was sunbathing and a nude guy walked over to her with his cricket bat hanging and asked her if she wanted to play with his balls ... I swear to god I'm not making this up :D:D:D:D:D:D

Well bugger, just got an email from Clove. They say that the wireless charger is not commercially available right now, so I won't get it tomorrow, ill only receive the phone. But they'll ship it when it does become available.

Goodness I hope the courier delivers it right to the office. If it gets driven to the central registry it will enter the dreaded internal mail system and won't reach me till probably Wednesday.

There have been times where I've literally shown the confirmation email of delivery to the lady in the registry, but she refuses to even look for the parcel or hand it over because she hasn't processed it and issued a mail notice to me.

There are certain people in the Air Force who love red tape so much they probably use it for BDSM in the bedroom

Well it came!

Feels really nice in the hand. The plastic absolutely does not show fingerprints.

It's pretty warm currently, but thats because I've been using it while it charged, and all my phones did that.

The screen is incredible, you really can't see pixels, I personally can see the difference between my Note 3's screen and the G3. The Knock on feature keeps turning the phone on in my pocket though as it hits my leg.

Will keep you posted. Any Questions? I'm going to work now and will do my best to answer any.

Is there a setting to reduce the sensitivity of the knock on feature? Maybe a screen sensitivity setting? Notice any lag on the screen when scrolling? How bright is the screen indoor and outdoors?

I could see the screen just fine today, although when I was outside it was overcast, so not really a challenge for viewing.

I wouldn't call it "lag". It just doesn't feel quite as smooth as Cyanogenmod on my Note 3, but much smoother than Touchwiz. It can occassionally stutter for example if you open the app draw and begin swiping to the next page before the animation has finished completely, as in it doesn't do the page swipe animation, it just throws the next page up with no animation.

Thank you! Have you had a chance to test the sound? Does it seem to run hot if viewing the screen for a while? Sorry so many questions.....what screen setting are you using? Auto? :)

Been playing with it for an hour on Auto 100%. Phone just feels room temperature.

The speakers played a song impressively loud for a phone, not quite as rich as the htc one m7 my friend has. But just as loud and didnt distort.

On an unrelated note this is the first manufacturer keyboard im considering using over the google keyboard

You're not worried about the prospect of an 805 variant coming out shortly after?
I am not sure it will hit the US market. I keep hearing rumors about the 805 model....but we heard the same rumors about an S5 prime....an M8 Prime and so on......

Edit; Not sure the 805 will be that big an improvement. If I don't like the 801 model....then it saves me from waiting on the 805 model altogether......

But that millisecond saved as it opens an app quicker will literally add up to at least 4 seconds after a few years of use ... That's 4 seconds you wouldn't have otherwise ;)
