I have not taken many pictures yet, but it seems like a very good camera. Hopefully I can get a few more taken this weekend and give you more feedback.

It's not hideous at all. It's a very attractive phone even in Verizon trim. I got mine from a smaller authorized retailer in town so they did not have any accessories. Today I stopped by a corporate AT&T store in another town just to see what they had for accessories. Anyhow I ended up buying the LG Quick Circle Case for it. It is pretty expensive, but after I tried it on the phone I just had to buy it. It's a very nice case IMHO. Really looks nice and I love the circle clock and functionality. Also since it replaces the stock back cover it gives the corners some protection, but is not bulky and it protects the screen when you put it in your pocket.

Great. The main disconcerting thing was that the back of the case wasn't a monochrome dark gray look, instead it had some silver on the back which I thought messed it up. After some research, the look is actually growing on me.

Does the cover of the case fold back easily for one-handed use? I know the Dot Cover for HTC m8 didn't...if it does, I'll probably end up getting the case (if I get the G3 of course, which I probably will)

Yes the case folds completely back and it actually makes the phone easier to hold in my opinion. There is no magnet on it, but it does close flat and stay closed unless you tip it upside down. As a bonus the cover can act as a stand if it's not on a slippery surface. The back of the cover is textured and has a slightly raised LG logo. No carrier logos on it which looks nice. It also allows wireless charging, but I'm not sure if any charger will work or if you need the LG stand. The stand charger looks really nice, but once again the LG logo on it adds to the price.

LG put a couple sample Quad HD video clips on it and they look amazing.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Thanks for the information, really helpful!

Can someone comment on the GPS performance on the G3?

Is it fast finding your location on Google Maps? Is it accurate? And does it work when your inside a building or your house?

GPS on the G2 doesn't work inside buildings, but my SGS3 did (or at least much better. It was also faster finding my location).

I'll have to do more testing, but sitting in my living room it found my location with GPS about 30 seconds after I launched Google maps. I am on the main floor of a wood framed house with a fairly good sized window in the living room, so if your in a metal or concrete building your mileage may vary.

Got the Quick Circle from AT&T store and it is compatible with Powermat. They let me try the case with the mat in their store, no problem as it works fine.

I only tried the M8 case in a Verizon store. This Quick Circle is much more comfortable to use than that.

So far the only negative I have found is the IR blaster is a bit on the weak side. I have to get pretty close to my TV to get it to work. Battery life doesn't match my Maxx, but that was to be expected. With normal use it should make it though a day fairly easy. I do like the fact the battery is user replaceable instead of being built-in like the Maxx. It always seems batteries start to get weaker after a year or so of hard use so it's nice to be able to replace.

Something I just noticed if you have a Verizon version and want to use Qi charging make sure you get their Quick Circle case. I got the AT&T version and it only supports Powermat charging. Now whether or not my Verizon G3 will now charge on Powermat with the AT&T back remains to be seen, but I am fine with just plugging it in anyhow.

I have yet to experience hot temp but my battery life has been very ****** and have had the device for a week now. Going to flash stock to see if it can help battery life but if it doesn't work then I'm going to return it.

Pretty happy with battery life of g3 after 5 days use. I am usually at around 10% by 8pm. That's with heavy use.

Camera is very fast. Almost as good as my iPhone 5S in terms if picture quality(just my opinion and I don't admit to be any photo guru).

Got the att g3. Lots of bloat ware. Very annoying the crap att put there. Yes I know how to disable the pre installed apps. But still annoying especially since they still take up space.

The stupid att contacts pre installed app is the most annoying. I couldn't care about it.

And most annoyed about the wireless pma standard att is going with.

I have a qi wireless charger already. Just a pure profit greedy move by att to use the pma wireless standard instead of the qi.

How's the memory usage on yours? Mine seldom has more than 300mb free. Half the time Chrome can't background 2 tabs. One will reload when I switch tabs 50/50. Apps rarely actually background, they just reload when I go back to them half the time.

You got the 16gb version right ? Sounds like LG is as heavy on resources as Samsung.

I usually have between 1.2-1.5 GB ram left on the ATT 32gb version with 3Gb ram.

So 2GB ram may be a little tight with memory availability.

Which version do you have? Is it the international version, the Korean version?
I think the version/model makes a difference. The US version with 32/3Gb ram has been great with multi tasking. Almost like the difference between the S5 16/2GB ram and the N3 32/3GB ram.

Mine doesn't have any issue with multitasking, but yes it does like memory. I'm usually using around 2 GB of my 3 GB so if speed and multitasking is important to you I'd recommend the 3GB RAM 32GB storage version.

Its the 16GB/2GB international version. So much for that "Don't worry guys it's optimised for 2GB of RAM".

I only got to play with the G3 for about 10 minutes at the Verizon store. They had 3 of them on display. I was surprised that the phone didn't seem quick to respond when opening apps, there was a slight lag that was not present on the G2 when I compared them side by side. I thought it might be because it was in demo mode, but the G2 was too. What have you guys experienced?

Did you check what was running on it already. Mine smokes with just minor tweaks, no rooting or removing bloat or freezing apps.

This from xda:
"I have been playing with android many years. I know how to set up a phone to get max performance and I can tell you this is the best yet even with somewhat degraded battery. This from a guy who has pretty well toyed with everything to ever come down the pipeline".

You folks still aren't going to try it? Depends upon what one considers a good upgrade I suppose as the consensus from most owning the G2 considers the G3 the next great thing. :)

Don't like the contrast or color or brightness? Already dealt with on xda. Many tweaks and more to come.

No, I didn't. At first I thought it was because it was running in demo mode, but the G2 was too, and it was noticeably quicker. How do you check to see what is running so I can compare them? I thought something must be off as I expected it to be like the M8, S5, etc. I like the edge to edge screen, and the screen is huge for the overal size of the phone. I think the volume control on the back would be easy to get used to.

I've had more time with the camera and I have to say lt's really doing nicely for a smartphone. I think the laser focus does help get focus quicker. Tonight I took a picture of a little buck deer in my backyard and it did very well for getting a quick shot.

The more I use this phone the more I like it. I'm not noticing any hesitation or speed issues. Mine is working great. I also notice I use it a lot more then my Maxx for browsing the web. It's really like a baby tablet, but very compact for the display size.

Love to see that pic! :)

Been playing with custom roms today with my G2 and tried the G3 rom and it looks fantastic.

The new UI in the G3 is very nice. I'm not a fan of flat UI, but LG has the best one IMO.

Big Apple fan here. I work for Verizon and I got my business phone in the mail today. I chose the LG G3. What are some cool things that I can do with this phone and with android in general? I am still in training for Verizon, so I don't know a whole lot about Android just yet.

Shoot a 4k porno. I'm still working through the proposal with the misses. Sometimes you only have one shot at these things so I wanna make the pitch to her just right.
