I'd would be surprised if most addicts don't at least try it but if you already have a G2 or cannot return it then that is understandable.

Opinions are definitely all over the place from folks having a nice flagship and the G3 will replace it as their daily driver as well as some others that wished they never bought it.

Finally got my hands on the G3 ....

I'll be perfectly honest and say I could not see the difference in increased resolution at all, it was a really great looking screen though - but definitely less bright than either my S5 or M8.

Thought the UI was smooth, tiny stutters in the app drawer and when browsing widgets.

App launching speed seemed same as the others.

Over all nice device, but wasn't blown away to swap either of my others for it, but it was nice.

I would agree based on my 2 days with the phone. It's a nice phone but it didn't offer me anything more than I had with my note 3 and I felt that the s5 would offer me more. I also felt that the screen wasn't noticeably different to any of the 1080p screens I'd used. Having got the S5 I actually think that screen on the S5 is better than the LG G3 despite having a lower resolution. Perhaps it comes down to a preference for Amoled over LCD.

Why does Verizon feel the need to put their horrid logo not only on the back, but on the front as well? Severely detracts from an otherwise beautiful, minimalistic phone. It's especially irritating since they haven't done that to the GS5 or the M8.

But the G3 is currently my top choice.

I realize there have been some concerns over the screen. Is the color reproduction about on par with the M8, or noticeably worse? And the brightness thing.....can anyone who owns the phone say how often/easily it overheats?

Otherwise, the 3GB of RAM, Resolution, beautiful finish and removable battery cover have almost made me a buyer. Plus Verizon is offering a great deal on the phone currently, on or off-contract.

Does anyone notice the digitizer in the screen? I remember this drove me nuts with the LG Nexus 4 and there are a couple of complaints about the G3 having a similar issue in light/white backgrounds.

I must say my new G3 has pleasantly surprised me. It's fast smooth and feature laden. I bought it from AT&T Friday, release day so it's early. But every indication is this is one fantastic smartphone.

I can see the digitizer on HTC phones. I'm curious. About if it's visible on the G3 also.

Exactly my impressions when I tried it.

The screen looked just like any FHD to me. Was dimmer than my G2. No lag, but slower than my G2 in animations.

Good device, but nothing spectacular.

I actually really liked the G3. I've been using the unit for about a month now. Things that i like the most are the battery life and screen.. One thing that bugs me is that since I have the Korean version, I am unable to install BBM and Amazon on the G3 for some reason. It is showing that the app is not compatible with this smartphone. Sad. Gotta go back and use the 5S just for BBM.

I think that's an issue with all LG G3 models. I live in the UK, I got mine from my carrier, I also couldn't install BBM or the Amazon app.

Good device, but nothing spectacular.

From my perspective, it is all about one's needs and what doesn't bother them versus something else which they rather not tolerate.

Case in point to give for instances, some hate TW and bloatware on the Samsungs. Some hate the camera, the wasted space and weight of the M8.

Nowadays, one has to pick their lesser of evils so to speak. People will probably never see a perfect device from their perspective, just one they like and will tolerate the cons which the pros far outweigh those during their usage of the device.

I'm worried next year with the G4 LG will keep making the screen even bigger.

They'll feel tempted to do so, just like Samsung increases the screen size in the Galaxy line every year, and 5.5 is already too big, even though it's in the smallest body possible.

If LG increases the screen again then it'd be almost impossible to find a flagship that's not a phablet.

Got my G3 today and so far I'm very happy with it. The only sad part is there is no root for TMO yet but I believe there will be one soon. Just gotta be patient about it, I guess. Forces me to continue to use my Note 3 due to having Google Authenticator and using it for both google & work login. Reason is because Titantium Backup needs root.

Screen is gorgeous, very nice and bright. No yellow tint and and dead pixels so far (knocks on wood).

Just activated ART so I'll test to see how that is.

No lag & overheating so far when I was setting it up and messing around.

The buttons on back is growing on me, no more pressing by mistake as I tend to do on my Note 3 and on phones with side buttons.

Knock code is nice but it's something I need to get use to.

Not sure if it's an upgrade over my Note 3 but it sure fun to play with a new device. Will be installing my tempored glass SGP screen protector and case tomorrow when I get it.

Can't wait for root since I will be switching to the G3 full time when it is released.

I'm on the fence with the Quick Circle case. It isn't in stock anywhere in my parts so I have time to decide. Guess I can try it and return it if I don't care for it though. $50 though isn't what I would want to spend but I'll probably cave anyway instead of waiting for a price drop.

Will it replace my S5? Time will tell but if I like the new iPhone I think the S5 will be sold. :)

And I best think about the Gear Fit I bought for $99 because it will not work without a Samsung smartphone. Their other devices would not be optimal for me in its use.

Just picked up an LG G3!

Played with it this morning. It's a strange beast but I think I really like it.

Initial impressions:

- Feels great in hand
- Screen is lovely
- Very responsive
- Some of the stock features are actually quite cool
- Camera is so quick I didn't realise it was taking photos
- Wireless charging is useful for me

Super busy for the next few days but will start a proper trial next week and report back.

Really wanting this device.

But man, does Verizon screw with their stuff. And the G3 more than others, it looks like.

Of course they're the only carrier to put their logo on the FRONT of the screen along with the back.

And they got rid of that beautiful gray finish! The black is nice, but doesn't look as uniform on the back as the gray did.

Anyone have the black verizon G3? Does it look good, or should I opt for the white?

Mine is grey but it matters most on the back - for which you can get different covers, really.

The front is just screen, screen, a tiny bit of bezel and then more screen.

I will not return it, no way no how.

It isn't groundbreaking but something just draws me to it, maybe everything about it. :)

Root is easy but I do not feel the need. Installed Nova and enabled ART not that I needed to but this is an android smartphone. :)

I just picked up the black Verizon version of the G3 yesterday. I have been doing the Verizon Edge plan so I was able to upgrade early. It was a hard decision because I currently had a Motorola Droid Maxx so I knew I'd be taking a hit on battery life, but I also really wanted to try something new after being with Moto since the original Droid came out in 2009.

I think the Verizon black looks good. The back is actually more of a dark gray then black and it has a brushed metal look to it. It looks much nicer in person then it does in pictures. I was disappointed that they had to put a Verizon logo on the front of the phone, but it is small and doesn't totally mess up the design. I'm sure Verizon was worried if it was only on the back cover someone would change the cover and then there would be no logo! Man that company loves itself...:)

With that said, I haven't had enough time with it to really give a review, but it is a nice looking, light phone with a beautiful 5.5" display on it. It's not a whole lot larger then my 5" Droid Maxx, but it is a little thinner and lighter. It's a plastic phone, but it feels pretty solid. It's not built like the tank like Maxx, but I'm happy with it.

Anyhow I'll give more of a review after a few days. I'm sure enjoying the larger screen so far and the Optimus UI seems to be a big improvement from what LG has had in the past. Think of this skin as somewhere between Touchwiz and stock Android. The Droid Maxx is almost stock Android so I'm still in the learning phase, but I'm excited to see and try some new things.

I tried the G3 today again and liked it more than the last time.

Compared brightness against my G2 and both seemed very similar. I thought it was dimmer but maybe they're not that different after all.

Problem was that after only two minutes playing with the device the brightness went down from 100% to 90% and I got that overheating message.

The phone was warm, but not that much really.

Still felt slower than my G2 on animations.

Thanks! The local Verizon store doesn't have the G3 in stock yet, so I'll wait to see it in person before deciding to buy or not.

Glad to know the black isn't hideous though. Saw a video of it, and it is better than I first thought.

I have not taken many pictures yet, but it seems like a very good camera. Hopefully I can get a few more taken this weekend and give you more feedback.

It's not hideous at all. It's a very attractive phone even in Verizon trim. I got mine from a smaller authorized retailer in town so they did not have any accessories. Today I stopped by a corporate AT&T store in another town just to see what they had for accessories. Anyhow I ended up buying the LG Quick Circle Case for it. It is pretty expensive, but after I tried it on the phone I just had to buy it. It's a very nice case IMHO. Really looks nice and I love the circle clock and functionality. Also since it replaces the stock back cover it gives the corners some protection, but is not bulky and it protects the screen when you put it in your pocket.
