Yeah pretty much. My wife and the rest of my family and friends are all shocked that I've used just a 5s for the past 2-3 months. I told my wife last night that I wanted to get the G3. Her response was to laugh and ask why it took me so long to get another phone.
Which phones? The only phones I have now are the OnePlus and HTC M8.
Thinking of getting the G3 but have to see it in person first.
As far as pictures...the OnePlus camera is better than the M8 hands down......

I've had this discussion every month since Jan .....
I'm on my 6th phone since the new year ... Were all hopeless here.
In just the short amount I spent reading on xda, there is so much goings on again lag and overheating and sharpening and the display type itself amongst other things that I don't know what to think. Many rather stick with the G2 instead.
Not sure why US variants would really be any different to tell the truth. Guess it is going to be hard to be objective, maybe I should stop reading before I try a demo for myself in the future.

I have read the same things at XDA....the feedback seems to be all over the map on this phone. Some give glowing reviews while others say it overheats and lags.........don't know what to think at this point.....
I'll hit up a few more AT&T stores tomorrow in the area but if one doesn't have it, the others probably will not. BB's website shows availability for Friday so I will also go to a mobile store and see if by chance they have one to try.
Some muttering on XDA says people aren't happy with the brightness so if one has to crank it up for their pleasure, bye bye battery!

Brightness may be a deal breaker for me :/ ...
The US versions should run a bit smoother because of the extra GB of ram but I doubt that will help screen issues.
Not sure anyone knows...it has been pretty quiet so far. I was at my local AT&T store last night. They did not have a display model out but the manager had a G3 as HIS phone.
He let me mess with it a while. It is very nice....small form factor compared to my OnePlus with the same size screen. It didn't seem bigger than the G2. He said he had it for 24 hours. I asked him about the screen and overheating at full brightness. His first response was "Who runs their phone at full brightness?". He said he has not had any overheating issue or lag. The model AT&T is going to have is the 32GB w/3GB of ram.
From what I've seen the four major carriers will launch the G3 in stores (preorders earlier) in the next week or so.

Verizon - July 17
Sprint - July 18

The AT&T store manager i spoke to said they would have the G3 for sale on the 11th......
On my way now to a few phone centers. If worse comes to worse, I'll have to just wait another day. I have three locations within 10 miles from me and maybe a manager will have one to show me if it is not displayed.
The G2 never really thrilled me but maybe a larger display and great resolution just might.

Just watched a review from Phonedog comparing the phone to the Z2 and the guy said that the optical image stabilization on the G3 only works for pictures.
Is this true?
Should work mainly on videos IMO.

Maybe early today was too soon to find at at an AT&T location. BUT I know they had the S5 as much as a week early on display.
If they are officially on sale tomorrow then they must get them delivered sometime today, right??
