For those of you that did a band swap...did the band that shipped from apple come in a retail box?

Band Swap sounds cool

Since I got the Space Grey, there does not seem to be much hope in me swapping my band. At some point - I am thinking about buying the blue leather loop. But I want to wait until the price comes down. And also until the market has some third party bands available.

Check out my Unboxing of the Space Grey BSB.

You may be waiting a while then...

When I had my BSB replaced, it came in a nondescript white box. The only text on the box was on the bottom left-hand corner that indicated the size of the band (38mm or 42mm).

Thanks. How long did it take? I ask because my Classic Buckle is coming first...and I have a BLL that I was going to return to Apple...but may open it and then return the replacement in that box.

so the BF came out with some new info. There's been a change in plans regarding returns to get a different watch. Originally they were planning to just make you have to do a full return and reorder a new watch. But I guess someone pointed out that that they could end up burning a lot of functioning watches that way and that's a silly move.

So now they will let you exchange the band that came with your watch for another one. within rules.

1. has to be done via online if that's how you got the watch originally.

2. has to be for a combo that makes a full SKU. So like if you have a space grey sport and you don't want the black band you are screwed cause there are no other SGSport Skus. but if you have the silver and you got the white band but you want the blue, that's okay.

3. no band only swaps on the Edition.

What do you mean, "has to be done online?" Ordering a replacement band? How does that work if you're already in the store and just want to swap out the band?

I called in the first time to swap colors on my leather loop. Rep says that leather loops can't be exchanged. I ask again to confirm and still...no.

I call back and the second rep has no issues and swap is complete in 10 minutes. I can see the new order on my old order number.

I did a band swap last night. I had a 38 mm Sport PSB ordered. I had canceled that order and ordered the 38mm Sport BlueSB. Once it shipped and still in transit I opened a chat with Apple. Ordered the PSB. The experience was super easy.

Just went into my local apple store, today, and swapped my light brown leather for a bright blue one. In and out within five minutes. This should get really simple as they have more and more stock in store

Did you need to bring the original box for the band with you?

Apple refuses to swap my black sport band that came with my space grey 42mm, both in store and online. Has anyone else run into this problem? I've called like 4 different reps and got the same answer

Sorry should have specified, because I have the space grey sport edition, and the only band that can be purchased with that model is the black sport band.

You can only do a swap to a combination that you can actually purchase. So, because the black band is only available for the Space Grey you have no swap options available to you. If you had bought a Silver sport with white band you could swap the band for a green, blue or pink (salmon looking thing) band but not the black one.

Had no issues swapping out a black leather loop I purchased at the fifth Ave store yesterday in the bridgewater, NJ store today. Swapped from a 42mm large to a medium. No issues, 5 minute process. Brought the box and everything with me.

Tried to swap out a WSB for a BSB today while purchasing the Apple Watch Sport...they couldn't/wouldn't do it.

I bought my white band SS from CL. It's been over 24 days...anyway I can bring it to the store and swap it for Milanese and pay difference?

Just thought I would share my experience. I was thinking of buying a black sport band for my white Apple Watch Sport this weekend, so I figured I might as well try the band exchange. (I tried a couple days after I got the watch, with no luck).

I scheduled a call with Apple support, and the super helpful representative didn't hesitate. We set-up the exchange, and the black band is on its way. I was pretty surprised, because 1) this goes against the "no black band exchanges for aluminum watches" policy that many of us have heard, and 2) because i got my apple watch launch day, which means i've had it for nearly 2 months.

This definitely seems like the ultimate YMMV, but needless to say, I'm very happy.

You got super lucky. Super lucky.

I was told at the Apple Store that I can Swap my Band, what ever that entails I don't know.

Can I return the ML band after trying it a few days for full refund or does it have to be unopened
