My total swap time was 4 days from initiation to in hand. Then again, I swapped fairly common sport bands (blue for white). Best decision I've made. I love my new white sport band :apple:

I just wanted to vent here because I just got off the phone with a supervisor from the online store. So I'll start off by saying what happened. I ordered a medium pink modern buckle watch. Since the store only has a small to try on I had to go by the measurements from my tape measure and what it states online. The medium should fit perfectly. I ordered the medium and just received it yesterday.

It is too snug. I called to initiate a band swap immediately. Apparently, it is not available for this band. They told me I had to return it and exchange it, but the representative told me she would expedite my order.

I received an email today stating an advanced replacement was being sent to me. I WAS thrilled...until I looked at the email which stated I would just be receiving another medium.

I called again to check if my eyes were just going bad. No, the representative is sending me another medium watch. That 30 minutes I spent on the phone with her yesterday was a total waste of my time. They told me I just have to return the watch and just order it on my own. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT. I asked to be transferred to customer relations which the new agent refused and said I'll just get you to a supervisor.

The supervisor was no help at all. Basically empty promises and the only resolution they can give me is to just return and reorder it with the expected ship date of July. I stayed up all night to order this. I ordered 4 minutes after the site went live. I got my watch yesterday and can't even enjoy it. Now they want me to just return it and possibly wait another month and a half?

I am really disappointed.

Call again but go through supportprofile.apple.com to get the number. They have different options for what types of issues you need. I don't see why they can't swap a M for a L since these 2 bands are both available for the 38mm.

----------

I have a question so I initiated the swap from my ss 38mm sport band to a milanese band does anyone know how long it will take to process and ship ?

When I did it for trading in my ML for a LL, the shipping estimate was based on the current estimate of the Apple online store. But I got it 2 weeks before the estimated date.

Wait, the medium is too small for you? Have you adjusted it properly?

If so, are you a weightlifter?

I just did a chat to swap my classic buckle with the leather loop. It went very smooth and was all done via chat. I didn't have to call in.

I have a question about band exchange. I have a 42mm SS with SWB and would like to get a Milanese loop band. If I wait to buy one, it will arrive in 6-7 weeks. If that's the case, I will have a new band with a fancy box for the band itself. However, if I do a band swapping, would Apple send me a box to keep too and I can just return the white sport band?

Any insight info would be helpful. I actually have another sport band shipped to me yesterday so I now have two sport bands. If exchanging the band with the watch I purchase can get me a Milanese loop faster (with a box of course), I would do it.

Thank you so much!

Honestly I had no idea what the best way to share this would be...hopefully this works for everyone fine.

That is all the information under the "Steps" tab of our Band Exchange Process Doc from Applepedia.

There you go, all the information Apple employees have on this process.

Based on the link above, you can ship the band in a different box and keep the one that comes with the replacement:

Advise the customer that they can return the original band in the box that the new band arrives in or any other sturdy packaging they have available.

New Bands

I wasn't interested in switching my band out until I wore it s while. It's a Classic Black Buckle. I went into my local apple store and they actually had sports bands in stock. They come with both size lengths so you don't have to choose large or small.
I got a black and a white. I wanted a pink but they didn't carry it. I called apple to check the stock of other stores near me and the big one in Delaware had all the colors of the sport 38 and 42mm and I was just checking what else they had and the guy initially said that was it then he asked what else I may want and I said the Milanese and he went in the back and brought me out one!!!!
SCORE!!!
I wouldn't have ordered it because if the wait but since it was there I went for it!!
Now I have the extra bands for my SS and i will probably wear it more. I was going to sell it since I got my SSSB.
You can't check the stock online or through the app you have to call the store directly.

I ordered the same band 7 weeks ago after my try on - still processing and delivery window of 22 to 29 June

You think you're mad, when I was at the Apple Store they were talking about selling the watches in the store in June... Can you imagine the revolt? I know that that was not a definite but can you see people who ordered on April 10th not getting a watch but some one walking in off the street getting one???

I did swap my band in store, but I kind of had to talk them into it. It seems like they only want you to do it online. I just happened to get an awesome Apple employee that really seemed to want to work it out for me. I talked to other ones at other stores and they told me I had to do it online, so I guess it just depends on who you get.

Switch full bands 38mm

Anyone who wants to switch my white sport band 38mm for your black sport 38mm please PM me.

I bought the white sport for my wife and she decided it was too much for her so I'm going to keep it. I could take it back for the SG, but I like the idea of the silver sport with the black band. She only wore it for 2 days and it's sitting at home.

BTW, I'm in the Phoenix AZ area.

My husband bought me the 38mm soft pink modern buckle apple watch in a size small. I'm looking to see if anyone would want to swap for a medium. The small is just a tiny bit snug. Would rather swap bc there aren't any available at apple right now. I only want to swap the band not the watch.

Has anyone had any luck exchanging bands after the 14 day return period? I tried to do it in store and they told me to come back later when they had bands in stock. Now that they finally do, I'm outside of my return window. Kind of frustrating.

I've not yet gone back to the store to ask, but wanted to check here first. I just would prefer to swap my classic buckle for the milanese loop.

I called online support and they said I can't swap the green band for a black because it only goes with the space gray watch. After reading the comments here I find it odd they didn't do it.

I ended up going to a mall where there was an Apple store and they did it for me there. Very happy with the way the black compliments the silver aluminum band!

I had a similar experience yesterday. I ordered my wife a 38mm SS with soft pink modern buckle medium. I also ordered her a white sport band. When the watch arrived, the medium band was too small, so I swapped out to the sport band, proceeded with the band exchange to a large... They don't offer the band exchange for the soft pink modern buckle due to it not being in stock - WTF? backorder is not an option - again, WTF? the only option to return the entire watch and reorder it with a large band - again, WTF??? My fanboy status is fading fast.

Sorry if this has already been addressed but could anyone clarify the in-store band swap procedure?

Do you need to make a Genius appointment? Do you need to bring the whole box or just the watch?

Thanks for the help.

I just went to the Apple store and they directed me to the "accessory guy" and he did the swap. He said he was new at doing it. I exchanged my Blue Sport Band for a Black Sport Band (which they are not really allowed to do but I lucked out I guess). What he did was took off the shelf both a blue one and black one. He scanned the blue on as a no receipt return and then scanned the black one. He took my name and email address, took my 3 pieces of the blue band, opened ip the black band box and put my blue one in there and gave me the three black band pieces. That was it. All I needed was the 3 pieces. I don't want to say for you to do it that way just in case your store may do it different but that's how it worked for me.

I am so much happier with the black sport band instead of the blue one. I don't know why they did not have the option for a black band on a silver sport to begin with.
