My swap is due for delivery tomorrow, after being requested yesterday. No idea if they'll bring an empty package to return the old one in, or if I have to call up support to get the address. I should know by tomorrow evening though!
I asked the chat about this and they had no idea. Is there a sign up form somewhere?
No problem. I initiated it yesterday. The Milanese is due "in May", whatever that turns out to mean. In the meantime, I am free to wear my watch with the classic buckle.
Am I a moron or just poorly skimming the thread? Is there a link to do this online?
Just chat online with an apple service person. You'll see the chat link on your apple order status webpage.
Has to be done my calling apple support via the phone. Online chat can't initiate an exchange as far as I can tell. Both specialists I spoke to directed me to the same phone number found on apple's website.
The phone team just ordered me a new band and set up a return for the old one, both of which showed up right away on my order status page.
Also, my classic buckle was showing as May shipping but got sent out the next day. exchanges seem to receive priority over single band orders.

Because there is no option to purchase an actual Sport Watch that's Silver Aluminum with a black band. Even if you had a Space Grey, you could not swap for any other colors besides a black since it's not a SKU.
Just like anyone with a Stainless cannot swap their black or white sport for a blue, pink, green sport, etc....but they can choose a milanese, classic, modern, so on

I think this is pretty petty to be honest with you. It shouldn't make any difference which combination you have.
I swapped my SS with BSB for a M Black LL last Friday, and it went to PFS last night. Still waiting for the actual shipment to go out.
I am trying to set one up online and the rep I am speaking to says I have to first send in my old band for the new one to come out. How did you get them to send you the new one first?
The chap I spoke to over the phone basically said we'll send you a new one, and you'll get charged full price for it, then when you send the old one back, you'll get a refund for that, thus evening out the cost.
So basically I have 2 bands now, and if I send the old one back I get a refund for its value, and if I don't I'll just be as if I bought 2 bands.
This is how my band swap is working as well. I may end up keeping my BSB in this case for workouts.

I bought a 42 mm stainless steel with leather black band.
I'm not a crazy about this band and I would like to swap it for a Milanese or BLUE LEATHER LOOP. Can anyone tell me how this works do I call or go to the store. Also I bought this watch from someone as I didn't want to wait till July. Would that be a problem? Thanks for the help

I've noticed that "Apple order status chat" has a lot of morons working in that department. If you ever come across Selina you'll see what I'm talking about. She wanted me to send my watch band first and be without a band until my replacement arrived. Lol
You'll return the old one in the same package they use to deliver the new one. There's no need to send an empty box as you'll already have one after you open it.
I set mine up through online chat and they had no problem doing it.
They are trying to reduce people doing a full watch return just to get a different color band, not giving you free reign to mix and match whatever colors you want. You can do that by buying another band at retail price.
Same here, except started with Milanese Loop and exchanging for Large Black Leather Loop. Started process on Saturday night, went to PFS this afternoon. Has not shipped yet, card charged.
Purchased ss with BCB and called cust service to arrange exchange last weekend. They added the new band to my original order and I received my new band ML today. I had to pay for new band and I can now return original for full refund or keep both. Love the Milanese....will be returning the BCB.
