SC4 was a great game, just not on mac.

I still want to play this but I'm losing interest fast. I followed the PC release closely and was still keen to play after it stumbled there, but now waiting until August when the PC version has been out so long? What on earth is happening inside EA that they've managed to make so many mistakes at each step in this process.

I agree I to am sick of waiting, what annoys me is that they did not tell us in due time that the June release was to be delayed. The game is getting old fast and I bet EA will charge us full price come August, also given the time, they should make more downloadable options available like on the AppStore.

This is really disappointing, and am setting sights on Empire Total War Napolean and Tropica 4.

For all intents and purposes, this game has been a disaster for EA, which is a shame because past Sim City's were good games. Even SC4 seemed like a great game in comparison.

I don't know that I'd go as far to say the "game" has been a disaster... it's actually pretty nice and enjoyable to play (now). They're deployment on the other hand, has been a disaster!

The game is no disaster however the timing is and it seems day by day I am losing interest in a game which is long overdue.

I'm really waiting for the Mac version because I'm playing it on a "you kinda barely meet the bare minimum" Windows notebook. It has a Celeron processor, folks. That also means I'm playing it on a 15" display with the display quality you expect on a $250 PC. Plus trackpads are not the greatest for this game.

It really does seem kind of fun except for a lot of little annoyances. I still can never figure out how the hell to use rail effectively. People will bitch about no places to shop across the street from a huge commercial district. The services buildings -- fire and police -- are hella expensive when you get to needing a Hazmat fire truck in a city with not too many people in it yet.

I also wish there were better ways to figure out correlations. I mean how do I directly get computer chip makers to set up in industrial instead of Joe's Soot Shop? Some sort of micro-zoning would be great instead of just RCI.

And some news keep coming, hope this is all true and we finally have a game with no ******** in!

‘Classic Mode’ is explained as follows, “In offline or online mode, play a single functioning city using cheats and unlocks allowing you to create the perfect city.”

Yea hopefully they release this soon, as I have been watching so many youtube videos. This game looks like its going to be slightly addictive. Perfect before as Autumn and Winter comes in....

That's based on wealth. To get high tech you need high wealth.

If you can't wait, or the date gets pushed back, I recommend SimCity 4 Deluxe, either in bootcamp or wine. With the NAM mod (and even without it) it's a much better game anyway.

Lets hope the gameplay is flawless and that they stick with the new release date this time. despite the cynicism against E.A and the Sim City franchise. I for one am looking forward to giving it a try. I had Sim City societies on PC lets not forget the bad ratings that got.

I saw a review for this on Gamespot, the PC version, and apparently there is a focus on social interaction with other players. There seems to be some interdependence on others which sounds good in theory but with anonymous internet players I doubt always goes smoothly in practice. That put me off right there.

Personally, I don't want "social everything." I would prefer a single player experience for a game like this. Maybe I am in the minority there. I think it would have been far better if you didn't need to be online at all with this, even though I do have a constant connection. As we've seen, having a constant connection on our own end isn't much help if the game company cannot provide the same on their end.

I also read they were not going to go this route with The Sims 4 now after the experience they just had with Simcity. I am glad to hear that.

You can make a private region and invite only friends, or control all the cities yourself. Social interaction isn't a requirement.

But yes, it shouldn't have been online-only.

You can start the download of the game on the 25th. And the game will unlock on the 29th.

I am not pre ordering sim city, I was about to preorder in june. But now I do not trust E.A so I will just wait for the 29.

I bought it during a sale on Gamefly a few months back. Played a little with Parrells but would much rather have OSX version.

So who here is stoked on getting sim city on launch day, I for one am a I sucker for city sims. The last Sim City i played was Sim City Societies on my old Dell XPS. I have been anxiously waiting and hoping that all the bugs have been fine tuned for the Mac platform.

Also has anyone pre ordered yet on origin? As i said previously I am tempted too to pre order now the deluxe edition, but I am hesitant that this title is going to turn into vapourware. How good are E.A on refunds should I purchase the game now and the game be delayed again.

Get it on Amazon, it's much cheaper there. It just says PC but it'll work.

EA doesn't do refunds. Neither does Amazon, but they were granting them as a special case back in March due to launch issues.
