Nothing new? Funny. I've discovered plenty of new things I like/dislike about the One.

I'll start my own thread soon enough so it'll be easier to ignore me ;)

Couch - how does the camera compare with the Nexus 4 camera? Curious as that's my benchmark for bad :p

So far not very good. Hard to tell. :T Going to restore tonight and try again. That might help.

I really hope so. Will update when I start my own thread.

Do the home button and back buttons suppose to light up? Mine never do.
And how do I make the pictures in email to turn on automatically? I have to click display image every email. I set the email size to maximum and no change.

Gotcha - camera isn't as big a deal for me as I'll be using my iPhone 5 for picture taking anyways. Would be nice though to take advantage of the Zoe features - I've heard they are pretty legit.

Now that you bring that up, mine doesn't seem to light up either.

Another downside of not having 4.2?

Expandable notifications require two fingers. This was a mistake even on 4.1 Android stock, which GOogle saw to rectify right away in 4.2.

HTC... anytime you ready to give us 4.2.

The buttons should light up in darker situations. I think it's a little buggy, but for the most part mine light up at the right time.

Just got this phone yesterday and it is definitely a looker. I'm having trouble rooting it (clockworkmod refuses to boot after countless tries and retried), but all in all a worthy upgrade from my Nexus 4! I showed it to my coworker with an iPhone 5 and he was in awe of the screen resolution. Definitely a nicely sized phone with just the right amount of heft.

Yes, please!

HTC One gets camera update, improves HDR images and audio recording

Gimme gimme.

My pictures at 100% size (Actual size) looks sharp and in focus. Although, I did notice if you use the digital zoom to zoom in to take the picture then it is not good b/c you are probably looking at it much larger than actual size maybe 200%.

Does everyone who is having problems with soft images perhaps using the zoom feature? Not to mention that the technic plays a great role in the outcome.

Does anyone think the Nexus 5 might be made by HTC?

Imagine a Nexus 5 with the build quality of the One.

Hi Guys i've had the htc one for a few days im on rogers in canada.

You guys are misinterpreting on how to read the firmware. 1.29 is the base the numbers in between are regional and carrier specific, and the number at the end is the version number which is important. so my original firmware was 1.29.601.xxx.7 i dont really remember the regional and carrier specific bits. And the new firmware release for europe is 1.29.401.xxx.13 which is newer than the one that comes with rogers or att or any north american carrier.

I've actually unlocked my bootloader, installed CWM and installed AR 7.0 ROM with firmware 1.29.401.13, and its a huge leap in terms of camera performance compared to the stock north american firmwares. Im getting excellent battery life around 4 hrs of screen on time with about 2 and half hours of phone calls, it usually lasts me around 14-18 hrs.

Also i'm now using the back button as the menu button by long pressing it, so i dont have the menu soft key in some apps.

Can you tell me where is the firmware located? I must be needing a brain transplant, for the life of me I can't see it.

The home and back buttons only light up when it's dark. If you want, put your thumb over the light sensor to the left of the top speaker, within a couple of seconds the home and back button will light up.

Here's my first picture with my device...its not great but it's not bad. I need to run the update and learn how to use the camera better.

Hmmm not very optimistic with battery life. I haven't used much of the phone, installing apps check some emails and it's already 36% left with LTE. A lot worse than my two year old iPhone 4S. Hopefully it gets better as I charge it more.

as others have said...it takesa couple of days for the battery to settle down. Give it some time. Yesturday i spent 2 hours on Pandora at the gym another hour playing music through bluetooth on my truck and 30 texts and about 30 minutes of emails. Took it off the charger at 5Am and at 7Pm it was at 42% so that is not too bad. Plus the phone is new so I am spednig a lot of time goign through the menus and getting aquainted with it! :)
Plus showing it off to friends and co workers and taking 15 pictures to demo the camera.....not bad!

If you need a battery boost, I've noticed that turning off mobile data when I'm not using (I have access to wifi most of the day) it has worked wonders for my Droid DNA.battery life (toggle widget on home screen). I'm sure the same thing applies to the One.
