Like a do-bee ? :D

Every body seems a little cranky today.

Just because Apple keeps screwing us (literally) while they keep introducing more things like ghetto headphones and disposable watches that could easily be done simultaneously with a new mini and an up-to-date ACD? No cranky here.

I been running Ubuntu 14.04 in Parallels on mine and it does everything I need to do in it.

If it wasn't for ICloud, IPhone and the IPad, I known that Linux would work just as well as OSX.

My phone is old and my IPad is an IPad 2 and I'm really starting to debate the Apple tax in my head right now.

I'm waiting for Windows 9 to come out so I can run it in the VM and see if I can deal with it.

I may switch back to a regular PC for my next purchase.
Ubuntu it's OK as 2nd OS for "just on case", I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 on an i5 desktop with 8gb and it's run smooth, few quirks, excellent for Web related activities using Firefox and for media playing thru xbmc or videolan, also good with iOS devices and of course android but to be honest Ubuntu still seems an amateur rebuild of OSX.

Where have I seen those words before .. :p:p

I think the positive spirit of the headline has played a big part in making this thread so enormously popular. I don't think it would have stayed alive this long if it was "will we never see a new mac mini?" or something like that. :)

Just reserved an open box I5 Mini at Microcenter for $498. Been waiting for them to have one and finally got lucky.

I feel much better going this route then craigslist.

So the iphone event has passed... Mac mini to be refreshed along with release of Yosemite? What say you prognosticators?

The one thing we can say about the Prognosticators is that their record is rather dismal. Their predictions usually look pretty good until the magic date passes without the magical prediction coming true.

I would really be disappointed if it appeared in October.
It doesn't make sense to offer a new Haswell system at this point.
Broadwell is very close (at least in MacMini release interval time scale) and will offer a much better upgrade to the 2012 Mini than Haswell would ever do.

It's really difficult to imagine Apple updating a Haswell-Mini again when Broadwell appears.

Predictions are always almost certainly true. Thats what this thread is all about.

I dont know if the mini is coming in october but i really want and need it.

Apple should ditch the mini with an another trio of new Macs, one based on the now available Broadwell M with iris pro 5300 ssd only and 100% fanless, and on the other end an slightly bigger than current mini based on Haswell update, maybe Haswell-E maybe looking as an smaller Mac Pro, also available with optional discrete gpu, and finally replace the mini server with one ARM based appliance running osx server on ARM headless but remotely manageable as NASes from Synology.
