the mac mini will come, probably at March event, or maybe sooner since Sierra update will come sooner ?! with mac mini will make more revenue than with the apple watch series 2

I agree with this but there's also a continuing thrust to simplify and dilute the involvement of the user on a technical level ... a "dumbing down" if you will

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing! One of the enormous achievements of Apple has been to bring the benefits of modern computing technology to the technologically illiterate. I have felt far safer in the past recommending Apple technology to my computer-wary relatives and friends, and those who have chosen Apple have, in general, been happier with their choice than those who went with Windows.

But yeah, Apple is losing track of the point of computing. They're squeezing electronics into ever smaller and more artistic cases; but, at the end of the day, just how much work are you planning to get done on your watch? I spend a few seconds every day looking at a watch; but I spend hours in front of a monitor.

It's fine to help those without a computing background to enjoy the latest advances in technology. But even these people want to do something during the day. Apple used to bridge the gap between you and the complex hardware you needed; but now they're just selling a bridge to nowhere...

until the monitor becomes as portable as the watch, they're going to focus on the watch. They want more eyes, not one set of eyes for a long period of time.
[doublepost=1481222481][/doublepost]I see Apple announcing (without a keynote) updated MM, MP, and iMac this upcoming quarter (I think Apple's fiscal year started this past October?) and it will be just spec bumps. TB3 replacing TB2, AMD Vega, and hopefully Intel Kaby Lake.

"Dear Mr Cook, just wanted to announce another 47 minis have been sold today, clearly indicating no need for any updates"
Hey I'm just fulfilling the customers specification!

You're crossing the picket line!
In the U.K. They would call me a scab. Not sure that translates.

Dear Navaira,

What is your problem with even numbers? Get back to me when it is 48.

It does.

"making us wonder about the possibility of Mac products someday being powered by an in-house Apple processor."

LOL, some very carefully chosen words. Not much "news" there... ;)
The emulator has been built for Windows 10 on Qualcomm Chips.

Apple probably has an emulator running on their ARM chips or they would be stupid not to.
Advantages cheap chips, there are no fans and they can use their own igpu.
As Trump would say Trust ME .....It Will Make Apple Great Again. lol

Windows 10 does not include Explorer unless you download it. Edge is MS new web browser and it fairly good.and secure.
I always use Chrome for OS X, Windows or Linux.

Eh, it was a joke? For people wanting ridiculous amounts of RAM in their systems that will never get fully used.

It's like buying an airplane hangar to store your newly bought quad-copter (baby steps to a Cessna.)

16gb is the new 640K? Really??…

What's wrong with 640K? You can do plenty with that amount of RAM; I've personally spent more than a decade of my life working on machines with that much RAM or less.

It is always the case that X amount of RAM is sufficient for anybody... Until it isn't. Show me why you don't think 640K is enough for anybody, and I will turn the mirror back on you and show you why 16 GB is not enough.

If all you want to do is run vi in a terminal, 640K is a luxurious amount of RAM. If you start wanting to, say, run a GUI with multiple windows, well, now you start wanting megabytes of RAM. If you start wanting to, say, run a game that simulates a large area in detailed 3-D graphics with multiple animated objects, well, maybe you now want gigabytes of RAM.

You always have enough RAM. Until suddenly you want to do something that uses more than your current amount. And then you don't. ;)
