They'd better stay away from computers with soldered RAM then!

Old people are scared to death of soldered RAM. But they also hate things falling out of their computers, that really freaks them out because they are so old. Plus, being old, they would have no idea what those parts were all about. They would probably sh*t their pants (but I guess they are probably doing that all the time anyway, being old and all).

The last time something fell out of my Mac mini it turned out to be the dilithium crystal that powers the reality distorsion field, and suddenly I started to see the world more clearly. Now I'm happy with my PC with Windows 10...

So they've moved away from using the Flex-Capacitor that debuted with the G4 mini????

Guess they didn't want us going back to when it could be repaired with misc scrap laying around.

Spins fans up to 88.... :eek: nope... nothing :(

Tries throwing computer at 88 MPH... :D

No flames, didn't disappear and go through the wall. Just shattered to bits and dropped to the floor o_O

So disappointing :mad:

Remembers cracking the old Mini open with a putty knife and finding standard components inside. Memories.....

I hate when RAM just randomly falls out of my computer. That's why I switched to Apple. People complain, but soldering the RAM is actually a benefit for people like me.

I don't mind the soldered in RAM as much as I loath the non-upgradable storage. I won't buy a computer that has less than 16GB of RAM ( like using RAM disks for things like browser caches ). But storage is one of those things a person is going to want to upgrade down the road.

I detest both

Yes, which is kind of stupid to repost something so old. But it served its purpose. Reminded me that waiting pathetically for something to maybe happen is just pathetic. No more for me! Hello i7 NUC Optane!
I hear that loud and clear and I have walked away myself... I am beginning to feel like the poor battered wife who keeps coming back with the promise of change.
Sad I know :apple::(
