It'll come Tueaday 3/25.

I know this because that's when the SSD I ordered for my wife's 2012 base model mini will arrive lol!

Been attempting to hold off on this upgrade until a refresh as there may be potential for an SSD/flash base model with improved gpu over 2012 model, but couldn't wait any longer.

The current model would be fine for my needs but I feel a bit ripped off paying that for a nearly two year old machine. I don't mind if there's no redesign. I'm hoping they keep the 2.5 HDD and modular RAM.

Once again, 8 Mac Mini's now in the refurb section of apple.ie

Tempting.... there is one that refuses to move and has been around for some time now, weighing in at €1399, spec: 2.6GHz 256SSD 16GB model, which doesn't represent much better value than new. €1669 (refurb €270 less).

Even the refurbs command top dollar/euro.

Still waiting.......

Like Janitor, I am not tempted by the increasing number of refurbished Minis available at the Apple Store. Sure, the prices are a bit lower now but it has been around 500 days since the last refresh.

I've waited out Apple in the past and I'll do it again:D

If and when they release a 22nm Haswell chipset based Mini this year it still be two year old technology. Except for the design enhancements to improve power savings for battery dependent portables it will be very similar to the current Mini's 22nm Ivy Bridge chipsets. Since you are into the waiting game you might as well wait until mid to late 2015 for the what will likely be completely redesigned Mini with 14nm technology based on Broadwell along with probable design changes of non-upgradeable internal proprietary SSD, removed ports and soldered RAM. I'll probably also get one of those too and I will still hold on to my upgradeable late-2012 model i7 Minis. :D

Innovative Intel i3, no dedicated graphics, 5400 rpm HDs and 100$ more expensive Mac Minis are coming soon! Can't wait!

Just a question, but an important one:

If you "remove" the ports, how in heck is one going to attach stuff?

Does that mean buying an external dock, such as a thunderbolt dock (generally around $225 or so) is going to be mandatory when buying a Mini?

What is doing this going to do for the "server market" that currently buys a lot of Minis for server duties?

One doesn't. Remember it's all about style. Crazy Ive loves slabs of aluminum without very many holes in them. As long as the Mac is fairly powerful and minimally connectable then style takes precedent.

Look at the current mini with four USB ports. Similarly priced PCs often have six or eight ports. With four USB3 and four USB2 ports users can attach a lot of stuff. On my mini I have stuff that has to be unplugged before I can plug in other stuff.

If you follow Apple's philosophy, you only have two connections -- power cord and Thunderbolt to an Apple Thunderbolt Display. You use the wireless keyboard and mouse and Time Capsule for backup and Internet access.

What is doing this going to do for the "server market" that currently buys a lot of Minis for server duties?

That's a real fear -- perhaps Apple doesn't really care? I'm ready to make a "last time purchase" if this happens.

So what would you folks find to be the most important "upgrade" in the line -

CPU
GPU on board (Intel Iris?)
GPU ATI
GPU NVidia
Thunderbolt 1 or 2 and how many physical ports
Increase RAM capacity from 16 to 32
or....

I am hoping for a mini refresh soon like everyone else. I would also like to see apple make it easy to connect 3 monitors not just two like the current mini. I wonder if you can connect 2 monitors through thunderbolt daisy chaining ? And then the 3rd through HDMI port.

Any kind of GPU powerful enough to drive a single 4K display (and therefore also TB2)!

So I got my brand new i5 from B&H...

After a bunch of troubleshooting on my part it turns out the ethernet port is DOA.

I'm obviously a bit upset but I figure it's better that it happened on arrival rather than it failing once the warranty is up. I'm thinking since B&H (who is awesome) already gave me a return label and it's going back today for a replacement it affords me 1 more Tuesday on a possible upgrade :) When the world gives you lemons...

I'll go with the "or...." which for me is "lower price." The performance of my existing minis are just fine!
