I had never heard of World of Tanks before this post. There went 3 hours. Thanks. :D

I was the same as you, only found out about World of Tanks last week, burned many hours on YouTube watching replays. I may pick up a cheap xBox 360 to play it, as it is free on xBox Live Arcade for Gold members. :D

I have the integrated graphics, and it runs great on my iMac. Give it a shot if you have Windows/Bootcamp.

I've been holding out since October for the new Mini. Like many of you I spend WAY to much time trying to read the tea leaves. My (current) reason for optimism for a release soon is that it makes sense to wait for the next release of OS X that supports 4K @ 60Hz. As that release is in beta, I'm hoping the Mini will come along shortly after 10.9.3 comes out. Hey, it's as good as any other theory!

Can someone tell me when migrating from Windows PC to a Mac Mini using the Migration Assistant. Can I do this with using 1 monitor. I am using the same monitor from my PC for the new mac mini so I don't have 2 monitors. When I run migration assistance on the PC and then on the Mac can I do this with 1 monitor?

I will have the PC and the Mac connected by ethernet wire to my router so both will be connected to the net but I only have 1 monitor.

Depends on the ports on the monitor. You can have the mini plugged into the monitor using a HDMI cable, and the PC using the DVI input. Then push the source button on the monitor to switch between the two. You'll still need a separate keyboard and mouse for each.

My monitor doesn't have a HDMI connection, it looks like I may have to just export all the files I want to migrate onto a external HD and then connect the external HD to the Mac to transfer all my files (music, photos etc). I wanted to use migration assistant to make it easy especially with email settings and stuff.

FWIW. I just got my Mac Mini and had to import from an older G5. I found the process easy enough (albeit with some work) MA would not work as I was coming over to Intel chips. I just made a checklist of what I needed to move and worked from there. I moved key folders that I needed and then followed Support from Apple on how to move iTunes & iPhoto. Everything worked well and I am very happy with the move over. I think if you break it down into small steps, it doesn't seem to be overwhelming. I'm very pleased with the change. I knew I didn't need a MacPro and the Mini is satisfying my needs. Based on what my budget was (as I needed some other software), I bought one Crucial 8 gb ram and now have 10 gb of ram. So far, everything is good, but I will eventually replace the other 2 gb to bring it 16. As far as a new mini update...I couldn't wait any longer to upgrade. I'm also enjoying my new TB 27"(yeah, could be updated..)....Once again, I feel I've moved very forward from my G5 and 20" Cinema Display (I'm still using as a utility system for apps that I couldn't move over. My 2 cents.

New mini next week, because I just bought an i5. The more I thought about it waiting for a magical GPU update that is never apple's focus didn't make much sense for me since even when I had a stronger PC GPU I didn't use it much. I already ordered a 480GB M500 SSD and 16GB of RAM as well. Guessing I'll be set for quite some time.

The purchase curse half worked. The M550 just came out!

That was my thought process. I bought almost a year ago. My 2012 Mini replaced an early 2009 model. Skipping the half step, that's three generations, which by my assessment was just enough to make the upgrade worth it. I realize there are people that want to squeeze every last bit out of the technology they can, but shouldn't they be buying a MP? My previous desktop before the 2009 Mini was a P3 733Mhz Dell if that gives you an idea what I think of being on the cutting edge.

Nice call with the SSD and ram.

Not everybody is into the whole GPU thing though. I really just want them to put in the 802.11 ac support. Also, I tend to use my computer for a very long time (I think my iMac 2007 is on its last leg with the 10.9 update, so I can run the apple server app), so I would prefer not to be excluded from the software refresh cycle for as long as possible.

Same here. My 2009 mini was about as nice as it could be, 2.66GHz, 8GB RAM, 7200 RPM 750GB Scorpio Black HD.

My new 2012 i7 2.3GHz with 16GB RAM and an SSD is so stupidly faster than the old one it constantly puts a smile on my face.

Macworld today....

"Why Apple might ditch the Mac mini, and it would be a big mistake"

http://www.macworld.co.uk/opinion/mac/apple-shouldnt-ignore-mac-mini-3507896/

the mac mini sells a lot of units.

the article is missing the one simple reason's why the machine has not been upgraded .

Most people use 1x 1080p screen with it the mini will do everything you want but game well on a 1080p

screen.

The best small form machine for all but looks and os it the zotac right here

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/zotac-zbox-sff-i7-4770t/255522557.html?listingId=-1

it cost ------------ 516
you need a ssd ---- 240
you need an os ---- 100
you need ram-------- 160

total _________________1016

this is better then any mini cpu wise and graphics wise and it is ugly runs windows 7 or 8 and cost a lot.

but this is better then the quad core.

Apple is simply waiting because there is not a lot of need for better then the 4000hd quad core mini until .

I have been saying this since oct 2013 just browse the thread

4k screens get a much bigger share

I think we're looking at the Core i5-4310M for the lower model. Can the HD 4600 drive a 4K screen though?
