Actually thinking about it all, a mini with 2 thunderbolt ports and up to 32GB RAM would do me. I don't care about dedicated GPU anymore - I'll keep my PC for gaming - I just want enough RAM for my VMware lab. My bulk storage is external so I can live with a small SSD for the OS and Apps.

Having said all that, and simply cos I am allowed to change my mind, if Apple offered a Mini with a good GPU I would prefer that.

Intel have made custom CPUs for Apple in the past. Maybe they could cobble something together that Apple would find acceptable?

Intel is in the process of releasing second gen Haswell processors and I would suppose Apple will have their own 2nd gen for the Macs fall releases.

Maybe the Mini will be released with the rest of the refreshed Macs.

I personally would like them to wait for Broadwell just because IGPU will be much better but their has been no proof that is true

If a new Mini isn't unveiled at WWDC this year I'm going to have to purchase one anyways.:mad::mad:

Soldered ram, pcie ssd, those new type fans in the retina macbook pro. thinner. the core i5 with intel 5100 and the quad core that dosent have the gt3 5200 but just 5100. 2 thunderbolt 2 ports "very good for me". 4 usb 3.0. no more firewire800. 1 audio in and 1 audio out. and wireless ac. if they wait for boradwell, well thats another story.

No thanks. For the same money I could buy a small PC with a faster processor, four RAM slots, six to ten USB ports and more. I love my 2012 mini but another downgrade in the ability to upgrade would put me out of the market.

Just curious, when is WWDC scheduled for this year..?
Still on 27" i7 iMac 2009 and afford to wait a little longer, but things may change if new iMac will be introduced earlier...

they have all been on the first or second week of june for a long time now

I would not plan on seeing a new Mini until the IMacs are refreshed. That's probably a September-October thing. They may release new Macbook Airs in June like they have before.

I had to go ahead and purchase some Mini's also, BestBuy Elite Plus has a 45day return policy.... so if anything is released in the next month and a half, upgrade.

Mac mini can also be updated when the MBA is updated. It has happened before.

Yes, that's true, but if it shows up with PCI and TB2 it could under cut IMac sales which Apple won't do. That's why I say they could be released with IMac refresh.
But it's Apple.......who knows.

I sure hope so! Ive been waiting for an update before I get one. Decent graphics would be nice to have on it, but I feel because they are using the "energy efficient" banner on the mac mini, it will always have lower end graphics :[ A thinner version would be amazing!

I think if it's not announced at WWDC then it won't be updated this year so you might as well just buy one. I'm sure you'd get plenty of use out of it. I bought a 2012 i7 a couple of months ago and have no regrets. Its' a great little machine.

ditto on this....
and this whole business about "paying the same for old tech" is kind of getting old... the fact remains that despite the old tech the mini is still a rather powerful little pony.... and realistically how much less do people actually think it should cost?

I'm going to wait till WWDC. It's only 2 months away.

Any chance SSD will be standard? And if not, perhaps a less pricey upgrade than currently?

I'd wait given it's only 2 months away. Hopefully SSD will become standard, but if not it's definitely worth the upgrade - personally I wouldn't consider a HDD as my boot/applications drive.

Would a new MM without a dedicated GPU , still be better than the 2010-320M ?

Thanks , :)

Excited for a brand new computer that is going to be at least 2 years old at launch! Can't wait for yet another overpriced niche product to be released. Let's hope they'll release it soon.
