It's actually already returned -- just hold down the option key.
And if that seems like to much effort use this patch to bring it back permanently…

In a Terminal window enter

defaults write -globalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents -dict-add 'Save As...' '@$S'

As cool looking as that would be, Apple sells a lot of Mac Minis to companies who buy a ton of them and rack mount them for batch processing/rendering etc. Buttttt I suppose that's never stopped Apple before.
Yes, something like this one in Las Vegas.

You know what I mean. The reason I am working on W8.1.1 right now (on my 2012 mini) is that Windows is so much easier to do certain kinds of work in. Save As, , Ctrl-, End, Ctrl-End and the red X to close an application are smoother and faster too me than the Mac equivalents.

I am always hoping that Apple will join the rest of humanity by making the above available in Mac like they did with windows that are adjustable from all sides and all corners.

Not sure what you're saying. Is it that you prefer the hot-key sequences in Windows to the equivalent ones in OSX, or that you think they're not available in OSX?

Good summary if you're not familiar with the OSX sequences: http://forums.applenova.com/showpost.php?p=178896&postcount=17

BTW, if there's no Home or End (they're on extended keyboards, not on smaller ones) use Fn+LeftArrow or Fn+RightArrow. Fn+delete is the equivalent of Backspace. Yeah, more keystrokes. Price of fewer keys available; if it's an issue the Logitech K750 Mac is a decent wireless solution.

Command-Q quits and application and closes all windows. Personal preference, but I prefer the Command-W / Command-Q differentiation as compared to the Windows "red-X" where you don't know if you're just killing extra windows or the rest of the app.

If I missed something, please clarify.

I have said this about 20 times the past 3 days on here but I need a new desktop badly and the Mac Mini is perfect for what I do and my needs.

I'm praying for an update tomorrow but if it doesn't happen (or they discontinue it) I might just have to grab a refurb ASAP

I would imagine that if they don't announce a new Mini tomorrow, the refurb store is going to get drained of Mini's quickly. I hope we see a new Mac Mini tomorrow, or a $999 iMac that isn't too low end.

I do like some of those key options. But...

I wish I could turn off the adjustable windows from all sides. All too often I am trying to drag something in the app, and end up dragging the window instead. It is especially a problem in a few apps where I drag the scroll bars a lot.

Has anyone noticed when this long thread started? If there's no need to make any big changes and have a "new" mac mini, then not much will happen but RAM bumps and speed bumps. Yes, we may get storage increases, too. I like the current form factor and any major changes is just window dressing.

I like that iPhone and iPad have basically remained pretty consistent from beginning to now with only smallish changes to form factor over the years.

The current casing cannot be improved on and Apple should leave it well alone, unless they want to add a double/treble height Mini Maxi with expansion slots. Which they don't. Obviously.

I would actually buy one of those. I think a max mini would be really cool, but still keep the small, thin one we still have, too.

I guess we all still live in a dream world.

Jan 9, 2007: Apple drops 'Computer' from name.

Now it's all about phones, tv stuff and a modern etch-a-sketch.

I don't know... if I don't see a new Mini come this Monday, I'm gunna slit my wrists, hang myself, THEN jump off a bridge...and it will ALL be their fault.
