The new Mac mini is almost certainly coming

I'm still wondering how many Thunderbolt 4 controllers there will be in the M4 Pro. The M4 has 4 x Thunderbolt 4 controllers, and presumably the M4 Mac mini will have 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports.

What about the M4 Pro Mac mini? Will it be 3 x Thunderbolt 4 (back) plus 2 x USB4 (front)? That's what I'm predicting.

What I would prefer to see is an M4 Mac mini with 3 x TB4 + 2 x USB4 and an M4 Pro Mac mini with 5 x TB4 ports, but I'm not expecting that at all.

I'm also very curious as to memory configurations and memory upgrade pricing.

Hmm…. I’m thinking if there isn’t going to be an event (which I would find a little surprising if there is a new form factor), and if the release date is truly November 1st, it is possible a press release might not go out until next week. But I’ll say again… who knows with Apple these days? o_O

It would be odd to have no event with such a MAJOR redesign. But... I'll take it if that's what they give us. But for the love of all that is holy, please announce TODAY! I cannot take the pressure!

There have been hardware redesign or even new product that saw no event or video. The Intel MBP 16” and AirPods Max came to mind. With how low priority the mini is, and that it simply doesn’t need the ”normies” spotlight, I find it reasonable to not give an event to it at all.

That said, a recent Gurman tweet mentioned the chance of at least having a video this time.

I kinda thought they would wait until the day after the iPad mini release so they don't compete with each other.

I have my fingers crossed an event announcement today, with the event next Wednesday to coincide with the rumoured hands-on.

Do you guys have a preference in the color of the m4 mini ?
I’m hoping is not silver
I would like it to be black or space gray

And I hope is not like the mockup from years ago that looked flat like a pancake and a glass top , if you remember that

I’m a little surprised the redesign is coming in a few days and there’s been no leaks of the new Mac mini, how it looks

Unless it’s NOT coming in a few days. As far as I know, the new Mac Mini isn’t confirmed to be in next week’s announcements, just speculated (and widely hoped for!)

Being that the Mini is a redesign and the rest of the products are just refreshed… they could well do the Mini in a separate event or announcement at a later date.

I’m hoping that possibility turns out to be very wrong… as I’m one of the ones very anxiously awaiting!
