... P.S. There are now over 20000 posts in this thread!

I was hoping to be here for this momentous occasion, I even hoped @GabrieleR would be the one to make the 20,000th post. Alas I'm 76 posts late, but it's heartwarming to know this thread has lasted so long.

I look forward to the new Mac mini that's almost certainly coming in another 10,000 posts time.

When is the NEW Mac mini coming? I know it is almost certainly coming, but when????

Rumors are that it will come out in fall 2026. It will have the same case, but a more powerful chip starting with the letter M. It will ship with a minimum of 16 GB ram. It will not run macOS Sequoia, but something newer with unannounced features.

Is safe to assume there won’t be a m5 Mac mini ?
No. Even though some of us believe Apple may skip M5 in the Mac mini, we are just guessing.

Looking historically, while several Intel chip generations have been skipped, so far in Apple Silicon, only M3 was skipped, and that was a chip generation built on a TSMC process that TSMC discourages companies from using.

I’m finally going to make the switch. I currently use a mid-2020 27 inch intel iMac. I’ll be ordering the M4 Mac Mini. What are the biggest changes going from intel to apple silico?

Apple sends the M4 Pro variant to the reviewers for a reason. It’s funny how they all tend to praise Apple for the value offered in the base model without actually having used the base model…
? Not all reviewers got the M4 Pro.

I find it a bit frustrating that all the reviews I’ve watched in YoutTube so far, are from the M4 Pro variant…
This is print, rather than video (sorry!) but The Verge and sixcolour reviewers have been given by Apple, the standard mini with 16GB/512GB models.

Many thanks! I’ll take a look at them!

I almost want to convince myself of how much better the M4 is compared to previous iterations. And just the single core score is quite higher. It also has a 10 core CPU instead of the usual 8, but the performance cores remain being 4.

Where the gains are more modest are in the GPU department, compared to the M2 & M3, sadly. And I’m not sure that I’ll take advantage of the M4 Pro GPU, because I don’t plan to game a lot on my Mac.

Our new dishwasher arrived today and we're both super excited to have it installed. It got even better reviews than the M4 Mini and can do things the M4 Mini can't.
And the best of it, is that you probably don’t have to lift it up to press the power button /s
Strangely enough, on my dishwasher, you open its door to press the power button. Well, like the Mac mini, there is a small space that you can stick your finger in to turn it on, but it's hard to see and really awkward, so it's easier to open it to turn it on. Plus, they're capacitive buttons so you can accidentally press the wrong buttons if you don't open the door first. However, it has a 4 second timer, allowing you time to close the door before it starts. Why? For the sake of aesthetics.

The first pic shows that there are no buttons visible.
The second pic shows the row of capacitive buttons that would be underneath the counter top when the door is closed.
