I love that it's USB-c also
Agreed. Especially being it's compatible with the MacBook.

I interpreted that to mean it's good since we already have usbc since we already have usbc MacBooks and MacBook pros.
also feels good to have all platforms this go round, for once! never have before, not even more than 1 platform for a longgggg time.
bring on any and all exclusives, my body is ready

Looking forward to always keeping Joycons attached to switch (when I get my repaired left one back) unless playing 2 player. Will be so convenient!
Even tho I've had switch for one day glad to nip this in the bud (the joy conn wireless hiccup). If I haven't by Mario kart8 I might be regretting procrastinating

also glad pro controller comes with usbc to usba, so I can charge my switch with iPad cube on the go
no way ill be repeatedly ripping the included Nintendo ac adapter to usb-c power cord the device comes with, hardly convenient.

Absolutely. The one last hurdle is for everyine to follow the USB-C PD specs so that everything actually works with everything. I bought a Targus 45W C charger. Nice compact design with the fold in prongs like the iPad charger. Guess work, it didn't work with either my 2016 MBP or the Switch dockExactly. Which is convenient for having both the USB-C capabilties and the MacBook Pro/etc.
I find it incredibly portable to be honest, perfectly balanced size and fits easily in my bag with a caseWhat do you mean by "not all that portable"? I feel like if it was smaller the experience would suffer. Sure, won't fit in a normal sized pocket, but you can still take it anywhere you want, especially if you already carry a backpack or something like that.
Yeah i haven't used them off console either. I am thinking maybe i should just in case they are dodgy and need repairing also."Small number" hehSince he just bought the Switch, for sure it's not the initial launch batch, so they still haven't corrected this issue during manufacturing..
Why can't these companies just own up to these problems. I haven't experienced the issue myself, only because I haven't used the joycons off the console. I probably will tonight - bought Binding of Isaac, will be a blast playing 2P with my son. And then I'll toss that left joycon right at my TV when it disconnects
A "joy con" by Nintendohow fitting

Should have bought an NES mini instead ...
Indeed with Switch retail games costing as much as they do, even if we did have VC on the switch, the NES Classic Mini would still be a better buy for those old games.
Anyone else tried Splatoon 2 yet? It's pretty much identical to the Wii U with a few new weapons.
720p docked with very visible aliasing does detract though ... Not sure why they have not bumped up the red for docked or at least added anti-aliasing post process.
It looks fine on the handheld as it's the native resolution of its screen and small screen masks a lot of the jagged rough edges, but blown up on a big TV it looks rough.
Docked should have more power so there's no reason to run at same 720p.
Hopefully this is addressed before its launch in Summer otherwise essentially feels like all we will have is a Wii U port with a few extra weapons.
What does the Wii U version run at?
720p may be the point - it just being a Wii U port.
If Nintendo is going to go down the Wii U port path, hope they come out with Starfox (with real controls) and the Pikmin and Metroid Prime series ports as well as new games.

I'm just disappointed we aren't seeing improvement res wise over Wii U. I'm fine with 720p on the handheld but do expect if when docked the machine has more power, we should see a tangible improvement over the handheld experience.I'm not disappointed in specs.
It's Nintendo.
As long as we get a handful of first party stellar titles, I can deal.
If I need more horsepower I have PS4 Pro. Multiplatform games I will always opt for other systems unless portability and flexibility is a priority

That being said worse game resolution wise on the Switch especially in handheld mode is Skylanders Imaginators. It's running with GUI overlay at 640p, but the actual game behind the GUI is running at 480p .... Makes it look ridiculously soft and blurry. When docked it's 640p ... I love Skylanders, but the benefits of handheld gaming the Imaginators are seriously being taxed by the muddy and poor resolution.
Especially as both are below the Wii U Res and have graphical elements missing (more in game objects / scenery on Wii U).
Honestly if we could get 720p standard handheld and 900p minimum docked, i would be more tempted to pick up switch versions of multi-platform titles despite the lower resolution, simply for the benefit of portability and docked ... But if the pattern of games continue to offer only 720p or less docked then I will buy on another format which is a pity ...
