I just picked that and Kamiko up yesterday. Started playing through the adventure/story mode of PPT, but haven't gotten very far yet.does anyone have interest in Puyo Puyo Tetris?

Exactly. I don't mind that games peak at 720 or 1080p with the Switch, the fact I can play it anywhere means I'm going to prefer buying multiplatform games on that than anywhere else. Recently I started playing The Last Guardian again and was bummed that I couldn't just take it with me on the Vita. That's what binge-playing multiple Switch games for a couple of months will do to ya.

Just bought MK8. First time I was really playing with the Switch undocked. I find it extremely uncomfortable to hold, got quite tiring after just one set of race. The Wii U gamepad was far more comfortable. Had to constantly reposition my grip during a race, and it was tricky to try to press X to look behind without letting go of the throttle. Using the Pro controller I had no problem pressing X while A is held down, which is quite strange since the Joycon's X and A buttons are closer together being a smaller controller. Really too bad since the game plays great and looks very nice.
Nintendo did it again, making me rebuy another title, though I did redeem for MK8 on my Wii U using the old Nintendo rewards program.
I actually do have rubber grips on the joycons. I'll play with it some more later, only half way done earning 3 stars on 150cc. When Nintendo added 200cc on the Wii U, I never got to trying getting 3 stars. Too bad your progress is not carried over..Rubber grip helps with handheld discomfort imo. The raised back adds umph

That would be good, and another $79 for Nintendo. And while they're at it put a proper d pad on the left side.Let Nintendo know about it.
The Joycons just slide onto the sides - so there's nothing to stop them from making slightly larger versions with the buttons larger...![]()

I discovered the auto accelerate function. Makes it slightly less awkward to hold not having to keep a button held down.
I scratched my head for a while why I couldnt take a shortcut, and saw that in the stats showed auto steer 100%. Stumbled onto the setting in the pause menu to disable it. Why was that the default..
Yeah, they'll get me to plunk down another $79 for sure. Really a great opportunity for Nintendo to start printing money again lol.I understand why they did 4-separate buttons on left joy con, for consistency of solo joy con play between left and right, but they should totally down the road release a 'Joycon Pro' model, with a proper d-pad, Imo
imagine that, with the same cool clear housing as Pro controller, AND flatter/bigger/more raised A/B/X/Y
All that said, I'm enjoying the joy cons more than I thought.

Yes! Been hoping for those too. I've been using an emulation app on my iMac (Retroarch) that has a mega comprehensive library of filters to emulate TVs of the time too. And since then it's become my standard for playing old games on new TVs.For the home-console VC games(NES/SNES/N64/GCN), i'm really hoping they implement the CRT "filters" as options. (I think NESc had it)
Cheers
I never said it wasn't a upgrade. However, an upgrade doesn't mean it's a new/next-gen box in the same way the Xbox One was to the Xbox 360, no matter how many numbers you quote. It's a system meant as an "incremental" update, albeit a larger one, to Xbox One in the same way that the PS4 Pro was an "incremental" update compared to the OG PS4, including being able to run old games better (aka their equivalent of Boost Mode, but possibly better implemented).PS3 GPU is around 0.4TFlops, while the PS4 GPU is around 1.8TFlops, leaving a 4.5x difference. The Xbox 360 was around 0.24 TFlops, and the Xbox One is around 1.3TFlops, a 6x markup. The Scorpio is around 6Tflops, or about a 5x markup over the One, so no, based on the GPU (And the CPU numbers are not far from these anyway) the Scorpio is indeed a "real" upgrade over the Xbox One, despite what you have made up in your mind about the console.
lol, iie.lol,no.

It's a mid-generation console released in what is traditionally the midway point in a console's lifespan. The hardware may not be as "in-between" as PS4 Pro, but it fills the same role. Regardless, you're free to make up your mind about what you think the console is.

They're (PS4/XBone) just PCs being incrementally upgraded at this point. The only way(at least for me) to tell if it's a new generation, is when they drop support and the requirement of backwards compatibility of new titles for the original PS4/XBone.
But make no mistake, they're just repackaged PCs(as far as hardware goes anyway).
@gkarris
I might be a little "old fashioned" but I like "special" hardware specifically tuned to gaming, in my consoles.![]()
Yeah, photo taken on payday at Nintendo HQI really hope thats how Shigeru gets paid out, through a Wii![]()
^ I have all the latest systems
Pro, Xbox one slim, switch obviously
I like specs but Not at all interested in Scorpio whatsoever until Microsoft can prove their worth
The Xbox as of recent feels like an abandoned platform by comparison.
The MPFPS is the only niche that they have and that will net you a 15 - 20m install base but that's all. In every other regard they're the proverbial one-trick pony. The only first or second-party IP they have that's of any value outside of that genre is from the triple-damned Rare acquisition and their legacy post-purchase has been Banjo Kazooie: Dude Bros Forza, a stack of Kinect games and an upcoming pirate MMO that will go over about as well as spicy curry before Easter Vigil Mass.
I would buy a Switch and every physical game put out for it if Nintendo would purchase Rare and release Banjo Threeie and a title equivalent to Rare Replay. Oh, and achievements, for the love of God. Surely, a few of the kool-aid drinkers here will admit that it's something they need for their online service.

And switch has absolutely been a massive success so far, carving out a market that was unexplored before (hybrid) and some fun games but it's a new system it needs time to get a broad library, even if that broad library becomes mostly 1st party and nindies, sounds great to me!
2017 may be the most epic gaming year in a LONG time. It certainly
Appears that way so far and we're not even half way through yet
