Oh my, THIS can't be real-

"First Nintendo Switch “chat headset” is a mess, and it’s all Nintendo’s fault"

splatoon2-hori-headset.png
Yep it really is a miss. I guarantee mid switch revision will see the switch supporting Bluetooth headsets. This nonsense it's just archaic especially for a portable console.

What?

Not enough computing power?

Why put out a near-launch game, Splatoon 2, with multi-player and voice-chat, if your system can't even handle it?

They didn't build it into the system during development?
You would have to use the Bluetooth headset connected to your mobile phone running the Nintendo Chat Application in conjunction with the Switch. However you'll only get chat via headset not game audio which you would either have to use TV speakers on top of the BT headset or revert to the convoluted wired headset adapter mess as in the diagram if you want audio & chat in one.

It's a mess, the switch which clearly does have bluetooth they decided to not build in the party chat to the device at all ....

It has Bluetooth, so I don't see why this can't be added with a software update.

Currently I'm the opposite. I'm seeing games on the PS4 new release list and just wanting them to come to Switch. I haven't bought any new PS4 games in months now because of the Switch, all with £50 waiting in my PSN wallet too (refund from that South Park game preorder mass cancelling Sony did). I'm enjoying the setup of the system with docked and portable that I'm buying lots of those ACA Neo Geo games that I only semi-wanted.

I know it won't be able to due to the specs required but I *really* want that Prey game... just on a system I'm going to play it on.
I suppose the games coming out on the Switch just aren't really standing out to me all that much, which is a bit of a shame. I really do want to use my Switch more but the library just isn't that compelling at the moment (to me). This may also play into the fact that I'm trying to be a bit more frugal when it comes to my purchases and wait on stuff to go on sale / buy them only when I intend to play them, which may factor into things a little.

I was actually quite interested in Puyo Puyo Tetris for a while but I tried the demo and while it may not be indicative of the final product, it was HARD. Even on the easiest setting, I got obliterated by every AI I played against whether I was in Puyo Puyo mode or Tetris mode. I mean, I just may suck at those games, but I didn't think I sucked THAT badly. So that game went from a purchase to a "We'll wait and see after a price drop maybe..." and it's starting to look like my next Switch game purchase will either be the Mario x Rabbids weirdness or Mario Odyssey whenever that comes out. :/

I am doing the same. I am waiting for DQH 1/2 to be ported to the rest fo the world for Switch. I know both are out for the PS4 but I'd rather paly it on the Switch. For me the PS4 is for games that will never come to the Switch only.

But would you rather play them on the switch when they are really bad ports such as DQH 2 is, especially in portable mode where FR hovers for the majority of play between 10 - 20fps ?

I'm happy to buy the Switch version over other versions but not at the expense of the overall gaming experience or when the game in question is so compromised badly that it verges on being unplayable.

Picked up Super street Fighter for the Switch late last week.
Really enjoying it. Oddly never played it before but glad temptation got the better of me and I nabbed it.

Had a voucher for GAME so only cost me a fiver but with the fun I'm having with it, I wouldn't have minded paying full price.

Currently going through the arcade mode with each character which I'm enjoying as I like the little stories at the end of each run.
I'm not that good at the game, but who cares when it's this much fun and looks this polished!?

Oh if the port is terrible I'll avoid for sure. But for now I'm just not buying any PC or PS4 games.

Reviews for ARMS seem to be coming online. Just realized that ARMS is the first native, first-party Switch title. Im not really interested in it myself tho.

Pretty consistently positive.

I as a single player driven type gamer, don't see much in it at its price point but will eventually grab it as most Nintendo first party titles are can't misses.

Zelda and 1-2 Switch?

Oh yeah, forgot about 1-2 Switch and Snipperclips (Can you blame me? :) ). IMHO Zelda is a WiiU game ported to the Switch.

Personally, I'm a single-player gamer so I find it interesting that Nintendo has been tending towards multi-player games.... MK8, Arms and Splatoon2. It seems like they're going after the eSports type crowd.

Picked up a Switch last week with Breath of the Wild and I've been really enjoying it so far. Probably the best game I've played in a couple of years.

Also got Mario Kart, which I love, but I had it on the Wii U so it's nothing special. Just needed something for multi-player at home.

I probably wouldn't have gotten one, but my Wii U Gamepad broke and those are just too expensive to replace for something with no new games coming. Looking forward to the new Mario game in December, not really much else, but I've heard people say it might be the new PS VITA in regards to getting visual novel games so that would be cool.

Well shiver me timbers !!!!!

Mario & Rabbids actually looks awesome mixing Mario & Luigi / 3D world with X-Com style turn based combat / strategy.

Total out of left field but now my most anticipated Switch game of 2017 so far.

And only a few months to wait too.

Awesome! Can't wait!

OMG - A Space Battle Game that uses small spaceship toys (like Skylanders)...

There goes my pocketbook...

Yes! Switch version in addition to PS4 and XBO!

(now we are starting to see Nintendo Switch games in addition to the other two...) :)

The Target I was just at has the carts (ha, ha, back to Atari terms) out...

Nintendo is letting retailers with them in sell early for E3?

Metroid Prime 4, Champion's Ballad (DLC 2 for Breath of the Wild) Pokémon Switch and Mario Odyssey! Hype is real!!

Disappointed at no Smash for Switch but on the other hand this is great news as we can expect a Fifth-gen Smash for Switch in about 5 years rather than a port.

Broken Dreams: This would've been a good time to show Final Fantasy VII remake for Switch, Resident Evil 7, etc.

Nintendo just wanted to highlight (just about all) only this year's releases.

I expect a Smash Brothers in 2018 - the momentum is high, and people who already have a PS4 or Xbox One may get a Switch over the holidays for $300 rather than a $400 PS4 Pro or a $500 Xbox One X (if they decide the simple upgrade to graphics isn't worth it)....

For me to upgrade my PS4 Slim ($100 in trade at GS) to a PS4 Pro used ($380 at GS) is $280 - almost the price of a new Switch system...

A friend mentioned that someone at NOA said in an interview that RetroStudio was not working on Metroid Prime 4...

...so.... what if MetroidPrime4 ends up being something like that abomination "Federation Force".... because Nintendo?

Ugh.. i feel queezy.
