..so.... what if MetroidPrime4 ends up being something like that abomination "Federation Force".... because Nintendo?
Federation Force? Don't say those words consecutively

Those with Best Buy membership, Mario Odyssey includes $10 bonus for preordering, that is in addition to the 20% off GCU. I don't recall any other big Nintendo titles qualifying for that $10 preorder bonus.. I just placed my order.

Haven't had time to watch Nintendo's presentation but knowing Mario Odyssey has an official release date at least alleviates the fear I had that it was going to get delayed into 2018.

But man, I'm hyped as hell for that Mario + Rabbids game, so that's gonna be two more games I'll get for my Switch before the end of 2017. If the new Yoshi game involves him being wooly again, I'm not sure I can stop myself from buying it (or any other new wooly Yoshi amiibos).

New Yoshi isn't wool but is like a diarama kids style and looks just as beguiling.

I loved the Nintendo showing.
I was only saying to a mate the other day that there was a bit of a lack of 2d side-scrollers seeing Nintendo's previous obsession with them.

I was a bit 2d platformered out with the Wii U, but I'm looking forward to these landing (Yoshi and Kirby).
To be totally honest though. I'd rather see Kirby take a back seat as him and Yoshi have both popped up a lot the last few years. I'd much rather a new Wario Land or even Super Princess Peach 2!!! The first was one of my favourite ever DS games!

Pokken is a purchase. Metroid is Metroid (hype!) Mario looks incredible and I LOVE that it is only 4 months away!!!
And the new 2ds is now becoming more and more tempting for the other Metroid and other games such as the Pikmin title.
Ahh I do worry about my PS4 and XBONE during this time!

Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Skyrim, Mario+Rabbids, Rocket League.... all in 2017. Not bad.

Yeah, I finally saw the trailer last night. Yoshi himself still looks wooly but the world around him has seemingly turned to cardboard. The whole perspective shifting seems pretty interesting so I definitely want to see more.

However, virtual console was NOT mentioned. This means they are looking to charge far out the ass for some gaming subscription B.S... How much returns do investors really need to be happy? 5+ cars, 5+ houses not enough?

Well, ARMS is out! I haven't picked it up yet though. Planning to buy it eventually but I'm still putting the hours into Zelda, Mario Kart, and Minecraft. Seems to be doing really well in reviews too so looks like another hit :)

Switch line up is great now.

Arms now
Splatoon 2 July
Mario + Rabbids August
Pokémon Sept
Mario Odyssey Oct

Seriously that's absolutely more than I expected and factor in 2d platformers like Sonic which I would rather play on switch over PS4 and the switch lineup for the rest of this year is very promising.

I know it won't be talked about much but my 5 year old is loving the Switch Cars 3 game.

Its open worldish and lots of unlockables for them to explore.

Its a nice break from MK8.

I played the preview and was pleasantly surprised at the play mechanics and environments...

Not my kind of game, but will definitely be a hit...

Got ARMS myself.

Good game, but the difficulty seems to be all over the place at the moment.
Finally able to get decent enough to finish it on difficulty 4!

Enjoying the challenge though to be honest!

Also picked up the incredible yellow joy-cons which just look amazing!
Nice change from my standard grey.

I'm worried over the longevity of arms. The fact it is only 10 characters seems quite a small pool of variety. As an arcade game it wouldn't be an issue but at €65 here, I think I will wait for a fall in price / sale before picking it up.

The yellow joycons look cool. What protector are you also using. ?

Yeah, I think the longevity would come from the online if I'm honest. Or that's what I think Nintendo would expect.
It's definitely not geared towards the single player, even though that's how I spend the majority of my time playing.
It's fantastic for multiplayer this game, no question.

Personally, I am having a lot of fun with it despite the difficulty spiking like I say.

The protector is a hard case that I got from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XP6JWZ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Does the job although you can't dock the Switch with it on so it needs clipping off to do that. But it's only the back plate out of the middle which just pulls off easily. The joy-con protectors are separate attachments so they can stay on when docked.
If you need to slide the joy cons off the screen / console though, you'd need to take the protectors off. :)

I have this case and just ended up using the center part as I didn't like the way it changed the feel of the joycons...

They are giving Arms the Splatoon treatment, i.e. going to have a steady stream of free DLC that adds new content to the game.

Where did you get the fluorescent yellow joy-cons?

I haven't seen them anywhere...

Well I'm in the U.K. so it might be different here. But they're pretty readily available from game website, Nintendo store and even some high street shops like Argos, where I got mine from. :)

You mean the back protector, right? (obviously the screen protector you shouldn't ever need to take off).
Snap with getting the yellow joy-cons! (Mine just arrived this morning, so was really pleased!) I managed to get hold of the all red set and also the all blue set aswell (but had to import those as they only do the half red half blue set from the uk amazon site, but the usa site had them both as the all one color sets)

All Red JoyCon set...
www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Red/dp/B01MT8RT5I

All Blue JoyCon set...
www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Blue/dp/B01MT8USZN

All Yellow JoyCon set...
www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Controller-Pair/dp/B06ZY7K5N4
(I actually got my yellow ones from Amazon Spain, as that was the first country to list them, but all the amazons have these now, so doesn't really matter)

Now that I have all three sets of colored joycons aswell as the grey ones that came with my switch, I just did an experiment to see if all sets would fit in any of my switch cases simultaneously (and also what I would have to take out in order to do so)

The good news is that all sets of joy-con fit inside the Orzly case beautifully, and I still got to fit in the smaller cartridge case (which you can see just poking out from behind the red joycon in the attached photo) and a USB TypeC cable (which you can just about see poking out above the blue joycon behind the cases's cartridge flap in the attached photo)
ALL My JoyCons Fit.jpg

This is the case it was tested on...
www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62

On top of that, I also tried it with the Zelda joy-con guards on (the ones that came with this set https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y1VH7Q2 ), and those fit too! (sitting on the grey joy-cons that are attached to the switch). Looks quite smart I reckon!

I can also confirm that they fit inside the zelda case aswell (but obviously not with the extra joycons) but I'm well happy that the guards do.
JoyCon Guards and Stand Case fit in Zelda Case aswell.jpg

(the zelda sheikah eye case is the one on the left, which is basically this one..)

The other thing that fits in either of those cases is the screen cover stand case (which is the big black thing that you could see covering the screen in the above photo).
To see the stand case better up close on its own, this is the one...

That's my shopping spree done for a bit! (thank god amazon don't charge yet for all the pre-order stuff, as there were quite a few switch games that I want that they showed at the E3 event!

Hey guys, after months of trying to find a switch I happened to find one while vacationing in Florida.

Question is: I heard that there were problems with the docks stratching the screen at launch. Is this still a problem or something that I need to be worried about?

I bought mine at launch and mine had a few faint scratches from just undocking a handful of times. I've since put on a glass protector. Even if Nintendo has made some production changes to remedy this which I doubt, it'll make it easier to clean the screen. Wiping a plastic screen you'll no doubt put scratches on it. Plus the glass I bought has oleophobic coating which makes it feel smoother to the touch.

That does look great. I prefer symmetry, and I just can't have two different joycons from the neon version.

Is that a hard plastic shell? Be careful with those. I had one on a DSi and an early 3DS and they both caused scratches.

Yeah me too. That was my issue with the neon launch bundle, the 2 different colours.

And yeah it's a clear case. Thanks for the heads up. It only covers the back, doesn't seem like it would scratch anywhere but I'll keep an eye on it. :)

Yeah, totally swear by them myself. White I've heard many claims about its natural screen being quite resilient, and others saying that it does scratch in the dock, I personally would never wanna take that chance. Sure it'll be under warranty for the next year or so, but having to take it in to get repaired would mean being without my switch for too long, so for me prevention is always better than cure.

Good point about the scratching with solid cases. (hadn't thought of that!) In that case I will have to be careful with the Zelda Joy-Con guards I mentioned, as those are made of a transparent hard plastic aswell. (fortunately the way they clip onto the joy-cons isn't the kind that scrapes across anything so hopefully they will be okay).
They basically sort of come in two halves (a top and a bottom that clips into eachother, rather than relying on having to scrape over the actual Joy-Cons, if you know what I mean). So fingers crossed they will be okay! (don't wanna wreck my colored joy-cons though, as those things get expensive, so I'll just keep them on the grey ones for now until enough time has passed when I know for sure.
Pity though, as they do look kinda cool on the colored ones, as this guy showed on a YouTube video...
(if you want to skip to the best that show how they clip on and how they look on each color, skip to about 2:48 on the video, as the rest of the vid before that is more about the more useless accessories that come in this pack). Still a great watch though, regardless. (he actually does alot of really good vids about stuff for the switch, and I like the way he's quite impartial and points out the flaws aswell as the strengths) so I've subscribed to his channel to see what else new comes up, as he's usually pretty spot on with his recommendations.

Yeah please do. It's always good to speak to real people who have tried stuff. Speaking of the split colors, I wonder what they will do when the splatoon joycons come out? Do you reckon they will eventually do all pink and all green sets, or that we'll just be stick with half green half pink? (I really hope they have thought this one through, as my daughter definitely wants an all pink set, if and when it happens!)

Nintendo indicated that they have fixed/mitigated the issues, and for those with issues with the joy-con you can send it to NoA to fix. Havent had any issues with mine thus far (except for a slight warp of the unit).

Get a screen protector before putting it into the dock tho.

Cheers
