Too AAA games that tend to be remastered last gen titles![]()
DOOM is awesome, played it in my Xbone, waaayyy better thenDoom 3 and not a remaster if it either. Skyrim is cool too.

Some Doom impressions.....
Kindof disappointed. The resolution drops to the point where it looks too pixelated, and on top of that AA and DOF make it look super blurry, while the framerate tanks. When all those things happen at the same time pretty often, it really detracts from the experience.
It seems to me, like this is less of a technical marvel and more of just turning the settings down "lower than low(PC)" to get it to run.
I really wanted to like this port. :/
Which screen? I can't tell in mobile mode.
Reviewers are saying if you are going to play mainly docked, you should get a console/PC version. They have been creeping up in price, though. I bought a PS4 copy used on sale for $13. I see copies now go for $18.
I've been playing in handheld mode for the most part. I turned off the blur option in the settings. I've been "switching" between MarioOdyssey and Doom, so its possible that the difference in visual fidelity just become more pronounced.
Yeah - totally different game and aesthetics. Odyssey will look cleaner and crisper to the dark, blurry, DOOM.
For me, it is going from 30fps DOOM to 60fps Rocket League...![]()
Yeah I'm so jealous of that too. I'm Australian and here we didn't get any special edition of that game (Samus Returns). Not the great UK one. Not the smaller US one. Literally nothing, just the standard game. If I owned a 3DS I would have tried to import the UK special edition. Thanks for pointing that out, wasn't aware of the exclusivity.
But hey, UK got a really cool Samus Returns bundle that I was jealous of. =)
Wow, that's a huge collection.I got a Switch a few months ago and I already have 44 games! I love this thing. I have like 3 or 4 games that I regret buying but the majority of the games I got are great.
Wow, that's a huge collection.
Which ones are your favorite, and which do you regret? Which ones haven't you played yet?
Personally, I'm happy today that Capcom finally announced some Switch love, with a whole slew of Mega Man games.
I play a ton in handheld, and enjoy it.I personally find the Switch uncomfortable to hold and play on handheld mode. It's too wide and heavy, and the buttons are too small and the triggers don't feel too clicky.
Am I the only one? As a handheld I don't find it too useful.
Switch must have had the strongest first year release schedule of any console I reckon...and I do remember quite a lot of the critics were not convinced they get any momentum going too![]()
From what I’ve heard, the WiiU sold a total of about 16 million consoles!
The Switch has already sold around 10 million and a lot more interest is now being shown by third party devs. Bayonette being the latest one, the third game will be a Switch exclusive I think!
Again catering to a market that your competitor doesn't is such a winner - PS and Xbox are fairly interchangeable but nothing else on the market is like the Switch and having the best franchises / games helps especially when they are NEVER going to be on a Sony or MS machine. I also see some families probably having two switches or more which is never really going to happen with the other two consoles much plus taking my Switch on the train, what great free publicity for Nintendo. Seems almost weird now to have to go home to my TV to play on my Xbox.
A colleague of mine use his switch all the time. More often in portability instead of docked mode. Switch trump card is the ability of play on it even when the TV in the house is hogged by a family member. As a dad it would handy as we are not always in the lounge.
Even Xbox or PS fans who ended up getting a switch love it.
I ended up liking it more than I thought and even picked up Zelda (played the other games briefly and didn't like them) and like the whole "just explore" and mobile a lot.
DOOM was icing on the cake...
Everyone I know that picked one up liked it a whole lot more than they thought they would.
I wish I had these guys' enthusiasm at reveal...

Interesting. I am curious about it but worry I will miss out on COD, GT/Forza and other "hardcore" games. And there is no way I can justify buying two consoles right now.
I have never been in to Zelda or given it a proper go but love bomber man and Mariokart.
