So glad I'm not the only one excited by this news. I say that because this game received a lot of undeserved bad press. It truely is one of (if not the) my all time favorite platform game. I actually just watched some Youtube videos last week analyzing and praising the level designs in DKC Tropical Freeze.

I look forward to completing it 200% again on the Switch, it hurt so good doing it the first time on the Wii U :D It looks like with the addition of Funky Kong it'll make it quite a bit easier (relatively speaking).
Nice, what does 200% mean?
I only rented the Wii U game so I'm happy to buy it this time around.

Looking forward most to Bayonetta 1/2 (beat 2, still need to play 1). I might give DKC:TF a try too.

Will probably buy Dark Souls just to have a version I can play on the go, but am more likely to play it on PS4 Pro if I decide to do another play through (4k/60FPS!). Personally I would have preferred a PS4 Remaster of Demon Souls, since I haven't played that one yet, but I'm still happy with a Dark Souls remaster, that game is a masterpiece.

Completing it the first time with all Kong letters and puzzle pieces is 100%. You’re then challenged to beat hard mode. In hard mode you only get one heart so any hit is instant death. There’s also no Kong buddy, and to top it all off there’s no check point. Those K levels on hard mode is quite a cardio workout lol. It took me months of on and off play to get that 200%.

DS is a masterpiece with problems. I hope this fixes Blight Town once and for all, among other weird glitches.

Could you explain more about how Dark Souls works? I've never played anything in the series.
From what I used to hear, it sounded like a hard single-player game with a lot of levels to beat.
Now, looking into it more, it sounds more like an open-world game where you're playing online with other people.
How will you be able to take this game on the go if you have to be connected?

it's a single player game with occasional PVP or co-op if you're online. it's sort of a gated open world. It's not super linear.

You don't HAVE to be connected, but I'm curious how it'll work if you are. You're unable to actually pause the game's action in the original series. You just pull up menus but you can be killed during that time.

Does anyone's joycon wobble a little bit in handheld mode?

This happens on both in mine, but very little. Might be wear and tear, don't know. I'm worried it can get worse in time.

This does look pretty cool. I think this will be really great for kids and introductions to STEM. Only Nintendo.

Rayman Legends is $19.99 and $15.99 with gamers club at Best Buy right now

pretty great, I decided to buy it even tho I owned it a few years ago on xbox

I bought one of these last week, the Labo announcement finally tipped me over the edge. That and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, since the original was the only game I really liked on Wii.

What a lovely little machine! Well, maybe not that little - it's hardly what I'd consider portable - but it's so nicely designed as a play-anywhere (at home) console.

Xenoblade is fantastic and I also got Mario Kart 8, which I'd never played before since I avoided the Wii U. I've ordered a copy of Odyssey, it's good to see Nintendo back on form after the granny-chasing Wii years.

I got Mario Odyssey today, played a little bit... It's not exactly what I thought it would be.

They've stuck those damned waggle controls in there! So annoying! Even with the controllers connected to the console, which is my most common mode of play, there are loads of moves you can only do by shaking. None of the 'best game ever' reviews I read mentioned this. There are constant instructional videos in the corner of the screen telling me how to waggle like an idiot, even though the console knows the controllers are attached to it.

I absolutely despise motion controls - they're the worst idea Nintendo ever had. Switch games don't seem to use the touch screen because that would rule them out for TV play, but this one, the biggest Switch game of the lot, has controls that can't be used properly if you're holding the console.

Nintendo, I hate you right now (but least Xenoblade is still great). Odyssey might have to return from whence it came (eBay).

Yeah, I got it on Tuesday - the BB I was at happen to have a couple of copies left.

I had it on Xbox One but sold it when it became part of the Gold subscription - but never really played it. Had it also on the Wii U and didn't really like use of the Touchpad - you had to take your eyes off the screen to get past levels - annoying.

The Switch version is not as bad as people were saying. The load times (now at least) are fine. The use of the touchscreen is interesting - there are separate levels for those, and elsewhere you can use the touchscreen instead (like for those scratch and win screens :) ).

You don't really have to shake the controllers that much. Sometimes, shaking the controller makes you jump a little higher or climb a little faster. Its nothing that big.

Yeah I forget what you had to do

Non issue

I haven't played it since I beat it tho but I hear post game content is fantastic

Well the post game stuff just seems to go on forever. There are tons of moons to get and you can open up at least one new world (maybe more, I'm not nearly done.).

Apparently there are a few moons you can't get without using the special moves that can only be accessed via waggle. Climbing faster seems like a big deal to me. Climbing poles is really slow, of course I want to make those bits go faster.

The Switch controllers are festooned with buttons, but instead of using them to access special moves they decided to duplicate jump and throw across four buttons.

Surely nobody actually misses the old Wii control method. It was a short-lived fad - Wii is dead, Kinect is dead, Sixaxis is dead, it seems odd to have that nonsense resurface in such a high-profile game and in this kind of half-baked, bolted-on form. Buttons are always better than imprecise gestures, and having some of Mario's moves locked off if you're playing the console in its default configuration is a bizarre design decision.

Anyone have any experience with Doom? How is the multiplayer lobbies, games start quick? Looking at picking Doom up on switch.

I think I'm going to be done with pixel platformers after this batch. :p
