So after a weeks trail unfortunately I just can't get on with the S24. I've really tried but it just is not for me.
So I have gifted it to my partner and she has given me her S21 ultra to sell.

Back to the 15 Pro Max for me.

This is by no means anything about the phone itself as it is an amazing feeling phone with great software. But it just isn't for me. I can see that One Ui has come on leaps and bounds since I last used a Samsung.
Do you mind explaining a bit more why it isnt for you? Im in the same boat. A bit bored with iOS. Doubting if my next phone will be a samsung s25U or iphone 16 PM. When watching clips of the S24U, i sometimes like the options. But, am i really gonna use them after 5 days and the new car smell wears off?
I dont like all the ugly box shaped popup menus of oneUI but do like that samsung at least provides more options and also pushes these to older phones. The 7 year upgrade is a good thing, i might not use it for 7 years but then it has more resell value or i can give it to someone that can still use it.

What i really am gonna miss are the live photos on iOS. Nothing beats those. And long term, those are more important than a new feature that i mostly will use twice.

Still have some time to doubt.

One week isn't enough to truly get a feel for the phone, or the switch from iOS to Android. At least for me it wasn't. Have to do what makes you comfortable, 15 PM is a beast.

You can have live photos on Samsung phones, it is a toggle on the main screen of the camera app:

Here is a screenshot from my phone.

I'm still liking my Ultra 4 months into it. The only thing I don't like is I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to Icon Packs or any kind of customization or wallpaper. Basically all the basic stuff I see other people have I wish I knew how to do it. For example, I would love a cool Star Trek or 49ers type wallpaper and I don't know where to look. Also, when I do the Icon Packs, not all Icons change. I guess I will figure it out eventually, but watching youtube videos and the like and still feeling like I don't get it is kind of frustrating.

I did replace my Apple Airpod Pros with the Earfun Pro 3's though. I think it is much better sound and a much better listening experience. I know when I moved from the Iphone I would lose the Airpod Pro features and the Earfuns weren't that much all things considered.

I am considering buying the Watch 7. Unfortunately, Samsung's quality control is suspect and I'm not sure if I should get one now or wait several months until things settle down.

Zedge has some good wallpapers.

I like to get my icon packs from the Google Play store I just find a better selection..I also like to ditch the stock launcher for Nova for better customization and icons set up easier

I'm still on the main One UI but there were times I was thinking about Nova. It sucks to have nearly everyone laid off though. Also people have been warning me about Nova being sold to an outside company maybe. Year or 2 ago and it wasn't the same. One UI dies feel the closest to IOS for people who do transfer from IPhone to Android.

Have been using Nova for as long as I can remember. Always find stock launchers to lack on things I find useful as applying icon packs or total freedom to resize and arrange widgets. Have to look for a new launcher then.

So I've just made this move today...

Decided to go with the S24U and the Watch Ultra to replace my 15PM and AWU2

I've spent more time recently using my Pixel Fold and just prefer Android for what I need from smart devices currently

Still have my Mac Mini and MBA (that's soon to be upgraded) and just bought my wife a new M4 iPad Air as she's given her MacBook back today with her starting a new job in the next few weeks

I've gone for the Titanium Orange S24U, 512GB directly from Samsung with a trade in for an old Samsung A5 I had spugged away in my bottom drawer, 5% for using the app and I've qualified for the £150 off here in the UK (could be upped to £300) when I put the claim in :)

That offer ends today, so glad I've got it in and sorted

Will update with pics when it all lands

Ordered a few magsafe UAG cases for now and the Spigen EZ fit screen protector and a Samsung wireless charging stand for my desk

The Watch Ultra isn't in stock currently, so will get that ordered ASAP when they're back in. Will have to use a manual watch for now haha 🤣

Good luck with the double cashback, I luckily won it. Bought an S24 for my wife and S24 Ultra for myself.

Care to elaborate on that? Apple Intelligence is on the verge of coming (I know it’s US based, but seen if settings were altered it can be used outside of the US)… why the move now?

I'm not interested in the AI side of things; just prefer Android for my mobile OS etc - hence why I'm on my Pixel Fold more (prefer the layout, customisation etc etc)

I've enough Apple gadgets to keep me occupied ;)
