Anybody pre order 2 phones from Samsung? Like maybe a plus and an ultra, a s24 and s24 plus or some other combination?

Then you will decide which you like best and return the other?

Is that a crazy idea?

Orange s24 Ultra delivered and all set up.
Samsung Switch seems to be 100% better then previous. Also loving how you no longer have to reset the Samsung watch to transfer it to a new phone.
So far, very happy!
What date did you order

I've seen some posts coming up about display issues, problems with charging, and that the promised day one update to fix the terrible camera was most likely a fake news.. I didn't pick up my unit yet, gonna wait a bit more.

No sign of any update

Dunno if it'd the fast display but the iPhone and pixel feels so much better in hand

No update is coming to fix it any time soon. It baffles me that Samsung released phone in this state. I cancelled my pre-order, will keep an eye out for S25U but for now keeping my 15PM.
I'm honestly shocked at the comments by people who got their units already, especially comments regarding dull display colors and quality of photos from all cameras. Sad.

And you know for sure that there's no camera tweaks coming soon?

Dull display - nope!

Charging issues - nope!

What phone is released 100% without issues on day one? I guess we are forgetting that Apple had to release a fix for overheating iPhone 15's shortly after launch. Can't believe they released a phone in that state 😳

Not saying the S24 ultra is perfect by any means but it's been out on public release for one day!

I wonder when the review embargo will end.

Probably when the new camera software update has been released 😂

I have taken a couple of pictures, I can see what some of the early reviews are saying, in certain pictures and especially when zooming, there is over processing. Samsung will probably fix it with an update soon.

I hope it will improve because it's not very good now :/

On a more positive note, I'm loving the circle to search feature. The AI picture adjustments are great too, they are fun. However I wouldn't pay for them in any upcoming subscription model.

How it is with the gestures? Did they really remove it because of the circle to search feature? Only buttons now?

They haven't removed gestures, I can still swipe up to access apps, swipe to the side of the screen and so on. I don't have buttons set on mine.

It's very informative, I haven't tricked it yet, in everything I've circled it's found it within seconds. AI wallpaper is good too, I would like them to expand it tho with more options to select. At the moment it feels limited to things like beach, waterfall and so on. I also would have liked a features similar to Googles Best Take.

So far I'm liking the phone, it's more the camera issues that I have a problem with. If Samsung can fix those in a software update then that would make the phone so much better. Battery life I can't really say because I only had the phone yesterday, today is my first full day with it.

Im really liking it. s23u was the first android I felt was as smooth as iphone with the advantages of speed/config etc. the s24u builds on that, it's ultra fast/smooth and nice. Simple little things like the wallpaper on the always on display, yeah I know some will say it's just an apple copy but it's nice. The ai ambient wallpaper is really nice too :) love that.

Camera matters the most to me though and I've only taken a few photos. So far I've been happy but I've read enough to know that I'll come across some nasties the more I test. I do have confidence that they'll update it regularly though.

Oh the S24 Ultra is very smooth, I've had no lag or stutter at all, even camera app is great. I just want them to sort out the picture quality.

I agree about the AI ambient wallpaper, it's really good :), in the preview when it shows rain it looks like it's on the screen, if you use a picture of a person it even shows the rain hitting that persons body. It's a great feature that I hope Apple copy 😂

Can anyone confirm whether the camera takes photos of red objects and doesn't change them into orange objects like all my previous Samsung cameras?

Also, is the in-screen fingerprint scanner still the same old inconsistent garbage it has been since the NOTE 10?

I've always had some sort of dynamic weather on my apple lock screen but I do think the samsung implementation is even better. Love the snow building up on an object, rain hitting the person and bouncing etc. brilliant :)

The translation stuff is cool too. Just tried a very quick chinese/english translation with a friend and it's very cool.

I was once a pixel only, native android person, back in the days when the samsung ui was icky, but I'm loving oneui and it's getting better with every revision

Has anyone tried fitting the free screen protector yet? If so how is it?

Might give it a go later.

It's ok, I got the free anti refection screen protector in my order (pre order bonus), it was simple to fit and works great.
