Think they're all pretty good with that these days in the UK. Even Currys let's you do it now too!
Whereas for America I think some companies or stores charge a restock fee or something like that.
Ohh I did not know that, I'm not sure if it's law here in the UK. America do in a lot of states I believe. I'm not in the habit of returning a lot of things, I have returned most Samsung phones tho (except for my S22 Ultra). I like testing them, especially when it comes to the camera, however most the time the software lets things down on the One UI side, I can't speak for Google Pixel because I've never had one.

I've been predominantly iPhone since the 3GS, I've owned Apple products since my first iPod. The only problem I find is that I get bored, can't multitask on iPhone and just things like that. Still use a Mac because I think Windows is terrible, I owned Surface Pro and it was junk in my opinion battery life is nowhere near even what my iPad Pro gets. I just tend to get bored more with phones than I do with any other tech device.

Yea but it was a separate company ie Google, I'm not sure what they were like with returns. At least with Samsung once you've opened the device and used it, you can return it. I get your point tho.
I recently returned Pixel 8 Pro and received full credit within ~5 days.

Documented condition and packaging thoroughly as always to avoid any "discrepancies" after reading about both Pixel and Samsung mobile phone return and trade-in horror stories.

That's very much my situation. Apple is so boring that even new ios releases and phones don't excite me any more. I get each new iphone, for no reason other than want, and pop the sim in and that's that. I can't say that I get annoyed with iphone/ios it's just that as a techie I enjoy messing and the iPhone just comes working and well setup out of the box so there's nothing really left to do.

I really do like all the options with the samsung camera and gallery for example but when I think about how much time I spend messing configuring the samsung and then think about how many of those changes are to make it work more like an iphone.... UM! Very much my own stupidity but does perhaps say I should enjoy the iphone as my primary and enjoy the s24u as something to mess with and perhaps take out for photos :)

Still, all very much a 1st world problem isnt it <G>

Very much so, it sounds like we are very much in the same boat. I think i want all these features and customisation, but when it comes down to it, i dont. An example is that I’ve spent time looking through the camera app on my S24 Ultra, in the end I’ve left it the same as it was. All i want is to be able to open the camera and take the best quality shot available with the phone.
IOS does seem to be boring, BUT then it‘s simple and it works, i dont often need to multitask on my phone but somehow i convince myself that i do want all these features when really i don’t 😂

I’m primarily an Apple guy, have been for a long time but i think Apple and iPhone are the safe bet, they are the safety net at least in my experience.

The plus models of the Galaxy lineup have been the ones I’ve considered most seriously to replace my OnePlus 6, especially as they are closest in size to it. But to financially justify it these days it will have to be when my OnePlus 6 actually dies I replace it.
I really like the OnePlus 12. I think it is a beast of a phone. If did already too many phones I would get that ASAP.
I really like what they have done to the Android skin they have.

I'm having the same issue on the S24 as I have on the Pixel, with Bluetooth audio. With my earbud in and connected to the phone, phone calls and notifications play through both the earbuds and through the phone speaker. It is incredibly disruptive. I set up the S24 as new, did not restore any backup or settings from the Pixel. It seems as if I'm the only one experiencing this issue?

**Edit- Samsung Sound Assistant! Yes! Good Lock again FTW. You can expand and customize the volume / sound settings menu and route calls to only go to headphones when connected via Bluetooth. Tested many times even with ringtone set to max volume in the phone settings, phone stays silent! Finally :D.

yep.

I was on a weekend trip to London with some friends recently, they all had iphones but I took my s23u (much to their amusement).

We were all snapping away, nothing special done in settings, no special camera modes because well no time, it was just full auto snap done. Being honest, the iphones did a better job with backlit scenes, portraits and colours. I started to mess with pro mode on the s23u, turning off this and that AI option and after all that when we tried publishing to instagram theirs looked better.

Next day I took out the iphone 15pm. Totally boring, nothing for me to play with, all I did was use it for messaging and photos but yeah well it did boringly well.

The more I use the samsung though, the more I do find things that I miss when I go back to iphone. Camera options (although see above, do I need them?), numeric line on the keyboard, general snappiness, spen (dont use it much but when I need it well I need it!), object removal in photos and the proper filesystem. Do I NEED them day to day though? probably not but I really enjoy them being available.

Good post.

Well lets see what Apple bring with iOS 18, there's rumors it's the biggest iOS release in the history of the iPhone, lets of changes and revamp.

I would genuinely love iOS 18 to be a great release because wow, I feel like we all need it plus it's good for competition.

I know some will disagree, but for me, Siri has been a completely useless "feature". It was behind for years and now with googles/microsofts, LLMs etc. AI on the iphone is a bad joke. I really really really hope they get in the game with iOS18

That is very odd. I would call Samsung right away and figure out what is going on. It should have shipped by now.

I am not sure exactly but I think I ordered on the 23rd and my order shipped a few days ago? I would guess yours should at least have a shipping label generated.

I would get a hold of a live person to figure out what is going on. You need your new device ASAP!

Do you buy phone cases and screen protectors for your S24/s24+/s24ultra? Or you just use S24/s24+/s24ultra without case or screen protectors directly? If so, the phone is so strong that it doesn't need anything to protect it.😃
I've always used screen protectors and cases on every phone I've had. I'd never take the risk and love to look after my gadgets.

What phone? Is she moving from iPhone to Samsung or another Android device?
Have you deregistered iMessage completely from her account - is it photos she's not getting over SMS? Or is it photos taken on her previous phone?

If you can give us some more info I'm sure we can point in you in the right direction of where to go next.

What’s mad is the plus is very slightly smaller than my OnePlus6 in certain dimensions, it’s only taller. But my OnePlus has a lot of wasted space around the screen especially at the top.
