Now I see why GrumpyMom left this forum. I'm out too.

It's appalling and actually shocking some members here think I'm almost making my story up, or like I'm some dummy that doesn't know how to reboot or fix a phone. WTF? Why would I make up some stressful super aggravating situation? Like why would I do that? Makes zero sense.

How about I got a phone that had some serious hardware issue, but I also actually really like the phone a lot, but there was something wrong with it. And now it's fixed itself somehow.

People on XDA said sometimes a phone issue like mine needs to drain down to 0% on its own before I'd be able to charge and reboot it. And that seems to be what happened, it took from Friday evening to Monday to drain to 0, and then I was able to press the power button and see the animation it needs a charge. I have no idea how or why that happens, but it did.

Most of the people here are friendly nice helpful good people, I like the vast of majority of you guys and gals :). But a few are not, and they can go F themselves.
Brother you don't have to let a few peeps upset interaction on the forums ..I truly believe @rhinosrcool meant his apology..we don't always have the best days just like in any environment we can say a few things we don't mean or might come out looking worse by written words ...let's just stay with the phone testing and hopefully you keep enjoying it but if not you have a great idea now how far along Samsung has come now ... We enjoy your contribution to the place ...

I agree. Sometimes the internet is not a great place in terms of nice people.

I had someone post something negative on thread I wrote and I looked at his name. It was an aggressive name which seemed to indicate they like to start trouble in threads so I looked at their post history and sure enough almost all of them were negative. So I understood what they were doing and why and responded appropriately. Then I just moved on. If they continue, no problem because I know there is no legitimacy to their claims and they are baiting the thread to see what bites. There are a lot of people out there like that. They get a power trip off of it.

But a lot of people are just passionate about a certain thing/s and might be a bit harsh. As long as they are not flat out insulting you then just move on is what I would do.

If I let every conflict on the internet get to me I would be hiding in my basement if I had one. Take things to certain point then if they are just unreasonable, non apologetic, and aggressive then press ignore. Why let someone else modify your behavior and censor your fun. I would stand firm, make my points as objective as I could and walk away if there is no more to really add. Some people just love to argue. I tend to really get annoyed by bully type behavior. But it is rampant all over forums and social media. Group think to the extreme.

However, mental health is important and if something like visiting a thread on a forum is causing more stress then it makes sense to distance yourself and I respect any decisions you make.

Please don't go. You have so much to offer. We are all different but we can really get the most out of our devices, if we stick together. Unfortunately, you had a bad experience and I and some others weren't very nice about it. It's over. Stay here and give us your thoughts.

Stop apologizing for providing your views here on a topic. This is just a forum. Stick by your guns....
Normally, I would agree with you. However, I went too far and really regret my response. It really sucks to have his experience and then someone doubts it. Not cool.

Waiting is wise advice... the main motivation for me was $650 trade-in on S23+.

I'm getting roughed up a bit on issues with 6.1 (mostly due to my personal and employer combined use case) that are borderline show stoppers if I can't resolve them.

I may request an extended trade-in window.

Oooo!

I'm very curious to know what on the work side via MDM profile has caused issues and how did you engage or how if at all dis your employer resolve?!

I've supported devices on multiple different mdm platforms and even worked on the profiles themselves, so I'm keenly interested. Thx.

Well, I've had my S24 U for about two weeks. Honestly, it's the best phone for me. The screen is great, the pics are nice, and the size is cool. Also, I'm an spen fanatic, too. The battery lasts very long. One ui is excellent. Personally, I prefer it over vanilla android (I know many who don't). For those who want updated software, I believe it's coming soon.

Ok I'm a little confused, am I right in thinking that Google own and let Samsung use the AI features that are currently in the S24 Ultra?

If that is indeed the case, why are the same features that are available on the S24 Ultra, not available on the Pixel 8 Pro here in the UK? for example the summarise feature is available on the S24 Ultra, but not on the Pixel. This is disappointing when thinking about buying a Pixel, yes the Pixel is cheaper but why should those of us in the UK pay for less features.

Obviously Google and Samsung have some sort of agreement. Samsung might be paying Google or have to pay for the features they are implementing in their phones which is possibly why they are saying they will charge at some point.

As for why Google is limiting features in their phones they can implement in Samsung phones outside US is anyone's guess.

And yes they seem to literally be Google Pixel AI features ported over to One UI.

I agree it doesn't make sense on Googles and does seem unfair to customers in the UK.

The only thing I can come up with is Google is more focused on the American market and is willing to sacrifice some market share if they can charge Samsung to use the AI features in all markets and they will potentially make more money since Samsung sells so many devices?? But who knows??

Good point, I didn't think of it like that. Seems a shame if they are willing to lose market share just to focus on the US market tho.
If Samsung can implement the features here in the UK, then Google can. They can't even use things like battery life as an excuse either, the S24 Ultra has great battery life even with all of those features being used.

After finding all of this out, I'm disappointed and glad I didn't buy the Pixel, come to try certain things like summarise (which works really well on Samsung), Magic compose and other software features that don't work here would not of been good.

If Samsung are going to charge for the AI, I think they will face a lot of backlash. While the AI features currently on the S24 Ultra are great, they are not worth paying for in my opinion.

I have a MagSafe 3in1 charger from Cubenest, does anyone know if I can charge s24U on it? I’m guessing it would not stick but should still charge no?
How will it stay up to charge ? It should charge but will it stay in place ? Previously I've added a ring to my cases

I doubt Samsung will be the only one charging for AI features, Google will follow suit.

We can see that from the subscription package Google announced with Gemini, I think as time goes on… Some AI features under the Pixel umbrella will be placed beneath a paywall subscription.

I don't think Google sees it as letting a rival steal market share. Samsung called out that this was Googles technology and they partnered with Google.
I think google sees it as the more Android phones they sell the more services they can make money from.
i think it is the bottom line that motivates them. I think more Android users consume more Google services than IOS users do....

Nothing changed on the MDM admin side AFIK. The two peeps who manage it (for a couple hundred users) had no other similar reports (on Pixel 8/Pro's or S23's and prior models).

On S23+ (running One UI 5.1 at the time), once I hit the Company Profile "Intune setup" the Work folder and MS apps appeared within a few hours or less.

When I did the same on S24+ it took 12+ hours for the Work folder to appear! During that time, I could download and execute the MS apps with lock icons. They just parked themselves in the main apps folder temporarily.

Not sure if it is a OneUI 6 / 6.1 anomaly or what exactly.

Yup, Google gets a piece of the analytics harvesting action from Samsung's AI among other wider market penetration "benefits", etc.

Sort of like two Foxes in the same hen house! LOL

I'm curious to see how good the Samsung AI is compared to the Pixel phone ... Hopefully I get to test it someday down the road..

Samsung AI as some good features. The summarise, AI generated wallpapers and note's Ai features, are all really good. The picture editing is also good don't get me wrong, but there is only so much it can do. When moving people or objects from pictures, filling in the space were the object or person was is very hit and miss. Hopefully Samsung can release updates over time and make it better.

One thing that Google has that Samsung doesn't, is the Best Take feature that swaps peoples faces who are blinking or looking away in photos.

@Ludatyk @Dave245 oh yes the best take is a great feature ..all these features on Pixels is one of the reasons I stay with them haha ..for my usage it's all baked in and useful.. dictation and call screening among other things ..can't we just have a Samsung Google edition ? I'm dreaming I know ...so many useful features on Samsung phones too in a different way

12hrs?!

That sounds like a VERY OLD default infrastructure sync timeline (active directory, azure AD, and Intune).

Some corporations still use AD SG memberships on user accounts to invoke mdm, though I've found Intune to be manually added, and thus very slow to sync. Especially for more than one of the device.

A good test is to remove both device from intune, ensure no local policy exists on each. No workspace remains. Have one of the 2 admins confirm you're not in Intune for any device. Then in 24hrs just ad the S24+

PS I'm not a fan of Intune it's still unpolished, slow, and frankly terrible - think of Microsoft Exchange Push v1-3 way back when BB was king and iPhone 3G was still around. Thereafter its was much better.
