I find it weird that Google has partnered with Samsung to bring their AI features to the S24 series worldwide, yet if I buy a Pixel here in the UK, I won't get all those features that are available on the S24 Ultra but made by Google. Make it make sense.
What features do you mean? Only one I know of is where assistant completely takes over the call.

You can still get it to do the call just not automatically

In terms of Al features I think all are the same

Magic compose
Automatic screen calling
Temperature sensor for human use (FDA approved it I believe for the US)
Webpage summarise feature

There may be more, they are just ones I know about.

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Ring, it got me thinking that maybe this is where the charging for Ai features will come in. With the ring Samsung can make a subscription model that involves Ai health features.

This advert kind of hints at it, "it runs on Ai now" and the bit at the end where it shows the sun in a circle, that was a big hint at the Galaxy Ring.

Also in this article from today, it mentions that the My Vitality score will be available within 2024 along with the Boost Card feature.

The S24 lineup was probably just the start for Ai features. I will admit the ring is an interesting concept, it looks like jewellery but also serves a purpose.

My feelings on smart rings are "meh." I almost bought an Oura ring but in the end felt it wasn't worth it, icing on the cake being the required monthly subscription. Will be interesting to see how the Galaxy Ring compares. But I'll still be "meh" on the whole ring concept.

There are a 2 or 3 features for summarising not bundled, but Apple still tops the list for short changing owners outside the US

At least with Android you have alternatives with Apple you just have to suck it up LOL

Little over one week with the S24+ Exynos variant.

I'm actually quite impressed by the chipset. It hasn't overheated at all in all this time, with the same regular usage as my previous S23+, which also didn't overheat but got slightly warm on some occasions. Here: 0 warm. It's also very fast. Not a single hiccup or stutter.

Today I was working outside and the extra brightness of this year's model came in handy. Screen was very visible outdoors, no problem.

I tried the QHD+ resolution for a day but seriously, it's so hard to notice a difference from FHD+...

I mean a ring? I want a smart pendant I wear around my neck or smart underwear.....I mean jewelry is going a bit far but people will buy it for sure.

The watch is even a stretch for me but I like it and it is useful. I am sure the ring will be useful too but I mean how many smart devices will we have on our bodies at one time. I could have the ring, my watch, phone, and ear buds all at the same time-crazy..

Exynos has improved a lot. I really like the S24 plus. It is a really great device. I tried 720p on my Ultra and only in certain situations could I tell the difference. Font rendering and such. So on these small screens 1080p is probably just fine but when I wear glasses which is all the time to see now I can see more details than I would have before I needed glasses and so I can notice the difference between quad hd and full had even on these tiny screens. I prefer quad hd but I agree it is not a huge difference.

I have the 224 ultra with SD and battery life doesn't seem to degrade much by using quad hd. If I were you I would try running quad hd for week. Let the device settle in with it and see if it makes any significant difference at all? I don;t think it will but if you don't care then you may as well do as you please!

I also just love the flat edge display and aluminum armor side rails. Looks amazing to me!

Damn Xiaomi's new 5x sensor is putting the one Samsung has in shame, the difference is insane..
Looking at the side by side shots is almost embarrassing.

Crazy how the Chinese phones have leveled up in the past few years. A lot of the shots look like they could have come from a DSLR.

So I put my SIM card back in my Pixel 8 Pro last night.

Just to really see the difference after having the S24 Ultra for a couple weeks now wanted to see how much I missed the Pixel.

I immediately set up the screens the same way and it was cool to be back on the pixel UI again but after about 5 minutes I just started to think about the big flat screen and just better quality phone in the S24U.

I made some phone calls did some texts serve the internet on the Pixel it was nice and pleasant but after a couple hours I put the SIM card back in the S24 Ultra and it's just a better phone. Period. The screen is just more vibrant more detailed nicer to look at.

The feel of the phone and hand the rectangular shape I thought I would hate cuz I do like the rounded corners on the pixel but I've gotten used to this size and shape The rectangular view looks like a home theater OLED TV in your hands.

The only drawback is still the camera the pixel camera isn't a little better it's significantly better.

Literally that's the only drawback the camera. Other than that the S24 Ultra is just an overall better built better designed better hardware better display better network better modem better Wi-Fi than the Pixel.

I think the biggest surprise to me is how shocking it is that I actually like One UI 6.1, I dare say both running Android 14. I like Samsung's UI more than a Pixel UI now.
Samsung have come a long way with their software, compared to the TouchWiz days they are leaps and bounds better. I'm just not sure Samsung have landed the launch of the S24 Ultra, from what I've seen online there are a lot of people complaining about the screen issue (grainy screens and the vividness issue) along with the camera quality not being as good. A lot of people were expecting the new update to fix the cameras and from a lot of peoples responses, it hasn't happened yet.

I just took a couple pictures of our foster Labrador and on the Pixel it just looks so much better and one shot looks great, where the S24 Ultra I need to take several photos to get and find the perfect one, but the Pixel one shot gets you one great picture.

Here's a couple I took on the pixel again. These were very quick. I had half a second to actually snap a picture with a squirrely dog.

They are really nice pictures 😍, nice dog too. The Pixel will probably be better than the S24 Ultra when it comes to pictures, it seems to be the best camera on a smartphone. However Samsung haven’t sent out a software update for the camera, I think it needs it.

How was your battery life on the S24 Ultra compared to your Pixel 8 Pro?

The P8P gave me pretty decent battery life, way better than the 7 Pro did, the S24U is even better then the 8 Pro but I can't say how much yet, I just know it's better. But not night and day better, no, just better.
