So I've had my SIN back in the Pixel 8 Pro all weekend, and did that very minimal looking homescreen, and it felt so good, the device itself with the rounded corners, and more narrow candybar shape is very comfortable to hold, and UI just moves so fluid and all the little bounces and sweet little animations is pleasant.

This afternoon I put my SIM back in the S24U, and what a beast of a device, it really does feels like a pocket Desktop PC shrunk down to a smartphone size, if that makes sense.

Have to say between the two phones, I'm torn, I like them equally for different reasons, both I think are the top dog Android phones this year. The display with the vibrant colors and deep blacks and non glossy matte finish is a winner as far as the screen goes. Other than that, both phones are super fast, very smooth, maybe the S24U is just a tiny bit smoother and faster than the Pixel, which totally shocks me in a good way.

So I will ask again...do you have an S24U or any Samsung phone? Or are one of those iPhone guys that come into this section to point out flaws in Android phones...while ignoring all the flaws in iPhones?
To answer your question : I had S24U - amazing phone.
Do you not read my other comments on purpose or you just cherry pick the ones where I "dis" on Android?
I might not have and android phone now, but I wish I did.

i just see where someone that does not own the phone cherry picks negative unsubstantiated things and posts them on a forum for a phone they do not own.......Heck the S25 is a year away!

I'm just adding to a conversation, it's not like I made those articles right? I'm actually heavily into 24U just can't afford it now

Not trying to downplay your reasons.

But from your signature… those devices you have are high valued (definitely expensive compared to other models), seems odd that you can afford those and not a S24U.

sorry if it seemed like i was singling you out so to speak.
We have had so many iPhone users come into this sub forum over the years...just to post negative things about Android phones. Telling us how trash they were and so on. Especially saying negative things about Samsung phones.

If you look at the at link you listed...it is pure speculation about a phone coming out in about a year.
Most of the time theses are just pure click bait articles meant to drive traffic to the sites.

then if we are honest there are a TON of sites out there for the upcoming iPhone 16 that paints them in positive and negative light so to speak. These sites are just rumor mills designed to generate AD revenue and traffic for those sites.

I am really getting the itch to get the S24 Ultra.

Such a small thing that is putting me off is the password manager. I have never used the Google password manager before. Does it work the same as apples passwords where it works on all apps?

I guess I'm so used to iOS now i'm reluctant to move over to something that I'm now really out of touch with.

Buy it and try it is my advice, if you have a return window in your country (sorry I’m not sure where you’re from) you have nothing to lose. The S4 Ultra is worth a try, it’s a great phone with a lot to offer.

I’m not sure about Google password manager on the Ultra.

But I do use Samsung password manager (previously called Samsung Pass, but moved to Samsung Wallet) on my Galaxy Fold and it’s the same method you do with Apple devices. Any app I go to… there’s an option to log in using Samsung Wallet.

I'll have to give Samsung a try. Supposedly works on a laptop too. Google Password Manager seems to need improvement like knowing the login on a credit card app and transferring that to desktop login site.

My advice is to use 1password so you are not dependent on OS password manager, I exported all my iOS passwords into 1password vault and use it on s24 ultra, if I ever get itch to go back to iOS my passwords will be synced, on my mac I switched to 1password as well.

Do you have to manually copy and paste each password or is there a simpler way? cos that would be brilliant for those of us that hop back and forth

New Mac Os update makes it very easy to export all passwords as CSV file from keychain, then you simply import them into 1password.

Here's how I managed to successfully transition out of the Apple ecosystem to avoid being tied to it:

**Notes:** I switched from Apple Notes to Google Keep

**iCloud Photos:** I moved all my photos from iCloud Photos to Google Photo

**Fitness Data:** I exported all my fitness data from Apple Health to Google Fit using Fitness Synce

**iCloud Contacts:** I transferred all my contacts from iCloud to Gmail Contact

**Airdrop Alternative:** I use LocalSend as an alternative to Airdrop

I currently have both an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The only downside is that I can't easily transfer my WhatsApp messages from my S24 ultra to my iphone without setting up the phone as new, which is a hassle.

I'm really enjoying my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and haven't used my iPhone 15 Pro Max since I got it.

PS: Galaxy AI writing style used 😀
