Any way of bringing back the customization options of AOD? After the 6.1 update it has disappeared, unfortunately. I want to have it in landscape, for example.

Any long-term cold turkey switchers (leaving all things Apple)? I recently switched to the S24U and HP Spectre. I really like what Android has to offer; Windows, not so much.

I get along just fine, but fomo rears its ugly head when family and friends talk about their iPhone allegiance. Funnily enough, I started with Android, but once I went Apple in 2010 I haven't been able to fully switch back since.

Cold turkey from iPhone 8 Plus to Android switcher since Pixel 4a. Could not stand what iTunes morphed into and despise Apple Mu$ic.

Having used Linux since the 1990's, I still vastly prefer macOS CLI "Unix-ishness", GUI niceties and commercial app support compared to more rudimentary desktop OSes. I have 5+ Linux servers at home... no contest on that front.

I've used iPad's since v2 (won a v1 and sold it on eBay to score a brand new v2) and still keep a 9.7" Pro around.

How come you don’t like Apple Music? Other Apple services are questionable, like Apple Arcade it’s just not worth it. But I think Apple Music is one of the best music streaming services out there.

Even on an Android phone I still download and use Apple Music 😬

Not wanting to jump the gun here, I could be wrong and this is just based on the rumour/leak.

I thought Apple were working on their own AI, am I the only one who finds this hypocritical (if it's true) that Apple could be teaming up with Google to use their AI Gemini in IOS 18 (potentially). For years Apple have been talking about privacy, are they really going to throw all of that out of the window.

If true, would Google be giving Apple the same AI features as what's currently on the S24 Ultra 🤔 if so it's not looking very exclusive to Samsung.

yeah...what would be different than we already have on the S24 and Pixel line ups? Apple is just behind the curve with AI. They have lost the technology edge and know they have to partner with someone else that does AI better. So the Google partnership makes sense.
I don't very much Samsung had a exclusivity to Google's AI except for the S24 launch period.

So today I’ve had 2 situations where circle to search would have been perfect. If Apple are really in talks with Google, it’s one feature I hope they bring over to iPhone.

Yeah, it sounds like iOS 18 is going to be a game changer with AI. I'm just hoping it's not all exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro because I kind of want to try to not upgrade every year.

Apple will make it 100% about the 16 Pros.

Let's face it, they limited the ability to charge to 80% purely for the 15 series, which hardly requires any AI .

Plus Timmy Cook can then call it the most Pro phone ever!

I'll wait and see because if Siri is any indication of Apple's best AI efforts then hmmmm. If they really are thinking of partnering with google, it kinda says they've woken up to being very behind.

The thing they do have going for them is they normally integrate features really well... they usually don't just throw something in with a menu option.

Still can't see them catching up this fast but we'll see

All it says to me is apple won't be better than Google or Samsung on this area. On par at best so was expecting a bigger or different approach

Seems maybe not the case yet at least

yep...they should just scrap siri at this point and go with Google's digital assistant. I don't think they will be better than Google or Samsung's AI to be honest. So as you said...the most we can hope for is to be on par.....

Keep in mind that all of the digital assistant analytics minutae will be foisted back upon those who check the "invasion of privacy" box.

A little sound calibration can definitely improve quality!

I don't have an Ultra but found this thread useful for modding EQ speaker settings as Samsung hasn't done a very good job of calibrating sound.

I use the following settings with Buds 2 Pro:

Dolby off
ANC on buds EQ off
Custom EQ
2 notches down in the 4K
1 notch down in 8k range

Not a fan of 360 sound

Edit: Nice graphic comparison from this GSMarena article:
