So he's not keeping both? I would love to stick to one phone but I like both android and iOS options

I may cut mine down to 3 this year though. I'm finding im using my fold less and my iPad more
I think he's just swapping SIM depending on the mood...that's it just 3 for me but I'm using the Fold and not neglecting haha

Damn, just tried out Samsung Internet wow this is great.
It sure is. And like a Mac on your PC or tablet (Samsung branded) you can pick up from where you left off on your phone. Share files like air drop, and a lot more. Samsung Internet can have the address bar on the bottom like iPhone which on a big phone like the s24 Ultra can be a life saver. It also syncs to Samsung cloud and Samsung Pass.

It is speedy because only Samsung is collecting your data and that is minimal compared to Google.

I really like Samsung Internet.

Put my SIM back into my Pixel 8 Pro this morning, was nice being back on stock Android, and the curved rounded shape feels so much better in the hand.

Just now this afternoon, pulled the SIM out and put back in the S24U, man there's just something about this Ultra [H]ardware that's hard to give up, the deep black blacks in dark mode. The matte non-glossy screen. The AoD has more options and looks better. And I can't believe it, but the S24U is a smoother more fluid feeling phone than the Pixel 8 Pro.
Yup. I can't put the darn s24 U down. I was setting up the pixel watch 2 and using the Pixel 8 Pro and thinking maybe I will switch over my sim to the 8Pro. Then a I picked up the s24 U and said, no way. LOL

There is something about the anti-reflective screen, the new color tone adjustment, and the slimmer bezels and flat screen. I just love the screen and the screen shape. The battery life is insane. Speakers are great, cameras are good enough to greatish, s pen, what is not to like.

I do wish Samsung would focus on gradients on their OLED screens as they have had issues for a while and that is my only complaint with this phone. But it is also present on my 8 Pro to a lesser degree and the s23U I traded in also to a lesser degree. If there is some sort of software update they could push to minimize the poor gradient reproduction then I would be happier.

Overall, it is just the best cell phone I have ever owned and reminds me of my Note 10......good memories!

Does anyone have the S24+? If I did decide to switch from the 15 Pro Max to the S24+, is that dumb? I've been thinking about maybe going back to Android for a while and I will have rebates from T Mobile that would allow me to do that. Part of it is I'm bored with Apple's software, but more importantly, Android Auto works in my car while Car Play does not. It seems like going back to Android might be a good idea but I don't know if I will hate myself for promising to keep the phone for 3 years only to change from Apple to Android in 6 months and having this by my second phone purchase in 20 months.

I think if you are coming from Pro max you need to go Ultra or it will feel like a downgrade while the Ultra might feel the opposite.

The plus is a great phone but compared to the 15 PM I would think you might miss the iPhone.

I'm glad I could recommend Samsung Browser to everyone. Didn't have the best reviews but it works great!

I did exactly this. Switched from the 15PM to S24+. Doesn't feel like a downgrade at all, quite the opposite. Butter smooth all the time. I feel like I'm one of 5 people in the world who has one considering how popular the Ultra is.

It isn't a dumb move at all, it's an upgrade from the 15PM. I quit cold turkey and left my iPhone in a drawer and eventually sold it so I didn't have a chance to go back to my safety net / comfort zone with iOS. After two months using the S24+ as my only phone I don't miss iOS or iPhone at all. I may have the itch to try the 16PM in September, but the itch is far weaker than ever before.

Good Lock is the best utility I've ever used on any phone. I am much quicker on this phone than iPhone, be it typing or interacting with apps, navigating between menus. The animation speed and responsiveness are much quicker. Notifications, Google news feed, convenience of swiping down to access all my settings. Extra dim mode like right now while trying to fall asleep and not burn my retinas out. It goes on and on re: all the great features.

I do have a Mac Mini at my office that is always on and functioning as a BlueBubbles server, so I have iMessage on the Galaxy, which has been flawless. Will suffice until Apple supports RCS but even that is an unknown considering Apple.

I'm enjoying experimenting with Samsung AI, Samsung Internet with summarize, circle to search, Gemini. I actually needed split screen multitasking for the 1st time over the weekend to call an airline and relay info from another account, it was fantastic.

Give it a shot, you can always return it if you don't like it.

Not dumb at all... S24+ has been great. I haven't used an iPhone since the 8 Plus so can't comment on how it compares the 15 Pro Max.

Of the S24-series, I like the 24+ the best as it is somewhat more compact than the Ultra and has the same performance characteristics and most of the features. Only things missing are additional camera lenses, slightly larger battery, the S-pen and anti-reflective display coating. Another $300 for the Ultra is also just too far over my threshold of how much I'm willing to pay for a mobile phone.

You have ~2 week window to evaluate and return if it is not to your liking.

I've been using Samsung browser for years, simply for the built in ad blocker and search bar at the bottom of the screen.
I'd been using Firefox as my default until a couple of days ago, switched to Samsung internet to give it a shot. So far it is perfect and has Samsung AI perks. Bitwarden is working so far, which is my main requirement of web browser. I do like dark mode using Dark Reader on Firefox better, the colors are more accurate in dark mode, but that's it. Firefox also has good ad blocker support.

So far I'm super happy with S24U, didn't sell my 15PM yet but definitely will. It's a breath of a fresh air to be out of Apple's walled Ecosystem and I can't wait for apple to release RCS support so I can use Google Messages full-time.

The screen on S24U is amazing, I also got the official Samsung screen protector which sits really well, and the vegan (uhhh) "leather" case is Slippery but feels very high quality. Battery life is also great, even slightly better than on 15PM I would say. I so started using Samsung Internet browser and omg I love it - it's fast, simple, no bull****.

So far love it, don't see any negative with it and hopefully I'll stick to it for 2-3 years (but I'll probably start drooling at S25U so...)

Harthag has summarize it perfectly. I have the S24+, coming from an S23+ and iPhone 15 before. I considered the 15 PM, but ultimately decided to buy Galaxy because it gave me much more bang for the buck. I wanted 120hz screen and all day battery life without spending 1345€ on a phone, and the S23+ gave me that. I liked it so much I upgraded to the S24+.

I've tried the 15 PM so many times I think I can compare both phones. The S24+ is a faster phone overall, just because animations are 2x faster, and scrolling is better also in Samsung phones. Just one scroll to go from the top of a webpage to the bottom. Can't do that on iOS.

For bigger screens, Samsung has great features like the gesture to pull down the notification panel on the homescreen. I can turn on and off WiFi or Bluetooth without opening the settings app (on iOS they don't turn off completely from the quick settings panel).

I think hardware-wise both phones are excellent. The S24+ has the huge benefit of being much more light in the hand, and has overall better dimensions. You get 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for the price of the 128GB iPhone 15 Pro. And battery life is excellent, all day no problem, even with heavy usage.

Google keyboard is miles ahead of Apple's iOS keyboard, and I'm sure Android will get much more useful AI features sooner than iOS. You even get 7 years of Android updates with the S24 lineup, so the iOS update benefit no longer exists.

Video quality is improved in my own experience compared to the S23+, so much so I'm impressed with just FHD quality and bokeh effect with people. Looks stunning.

You'll love the almost endless customization options Samsung provides, on top of Android. Features like screen mirroring to the TV work better than AirPlay. I can cast a soccer match to the TV (Samsung) and still use my phone for whatever I want. Couldn't do that on iPhone.

I think the S24+ is great if you don't want the gigantic S24 Ultra. Not everyone wants such a big phone. To me, the width made it uncomfortable to hold.

When I use AirPlay I can still use my iPhone or iPad just as usual or leave it with the screen off. And to quickly get to the bottom of a web page I just hold the scroll bar and drag it to the bottom (I think k sa song can do this too?).

The 24 and 24+ are tempting though. Sure, they look alot like the latest iPhones but even more sleek and modern. I'm pretty happy with the iPhone overall but the inconsistency in iOS can be a bit frustrating; Swipe right, down or use an arrow button to go back. Or selecting multiple items. Sometimes I can press and hold one item and chose to select others. In other places this option is missing and I have to press a "Select" button to be able to do the same. But what I really hate is that it's so terribly difficult do select text and move the cursor where I want it. Just writing this short text made me mad because of it.

It's the usual dilemma though. I'm comfortable overall and I like the integration with my other Apple stuff 🤔

I just got a 1 TB USB so I can backup photos locally instead of needing to rely on the cloud. why would I want anyone else having access to my photos/videos anyways.
256 GB on board was more than enough and 512 is over the top for me. I use the Smart Switch app to backup and archive S24+ photos to local USB-C storage.

I can (almost) officially say I've regained my faith in Exynos. Last saturday I was all day out, taking pictures and videos, was a hot day, 5G/4G on, and S24+ lasted me all day and then some, all without getting hot. This is a great chip. Well done Samsung.
About time they got their act together with exynos

Any long-term cold turkey switchers (leaving all things Apple)? I recently switched to the S24U and HP Spectre. I really like what Android has to offer; Windows, not so much.

I get along just fine, but fomo rears its ugly head when family and friends talk about their iPhone allegiance. Funnily enough, I started with Android, but once I went Apple in 2010 I haven't been able to fully switch back since.
