I've been craving the S24U for well over 2 months now, it just does not go away, I am really tempted to buy it, and so I think I will. It is the only phone I would consider apart from iPhone, which is super reliable, but insanely boring phone. I can't just try it and then return it, not possible in the country I live in, so I have to pay cash and then sell my iPhone, it's a hassle, but I don't think I'll have peace of mind until I get the Ultra..

Which color do you recommend? I was slightly underwhelmed by natural titanium when I seen it in the store so I am thinking about the black one, not a fan of the violet one, and the online exclusive colors are not available here..
Perhaps get a used S23 Ultra? The experience is very similar.

Black imo is the nicest colour this year

I should probably mention I say that every year 🤣

I have the black S24+ and I actually prefer the violet one. It's not perfect but it's the most colorful one. I had the S23+ in black before and that one was much nicer. This year it's like greyish in some light conditions. Not bad, but not as nice as the black S23+.

I wish I got the violet one, but was completely sold when I bought mine.

The s24 plus cobalt violet and the s24 Ultra purple are different and the plus looks a lot better with color matched aluminum rails. The S24 ultra has natural Ti and a darker Purple and I don't like the combo either. The Natural Ti is boring but okay. Black I feel is boring and like any device ever made in the last 15 years plus... but that is my persoanl opinion.

I would go with the yellow color out of the 4 regular colors. It is bright and unique and with a case you can tone it down but yellow is a fun color and you won't lose your phone!

I got the blue and I also like the green and orange but these are Samsung exclusive colors.

Everybody here has a case and screen protector ?
Just a case. I originally purchased an Otterbox but that case is too big for my cars wireless charger. I bought a Spine case instead and that works fine. I stopped using screen protectors many years ago. All they will do is protect your screen from scratches and not from breaking.

Back on the S24U after finally setting up blue bubbles with the private API. Works like a charm. Been using the 15PM the last two weeks and it's refreshing to be back on this device. Thinking I'll give my 15PM to my daughter and roll with S24U, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Fold. I'll just have to stalk and track my family on Life 360 since I won't have Find My. Until swapping esims becomes easier I see myself gravitating away from the iPhone more and more. I love the Apple ecosystem and do love some things about iOS. The iPhone camera is really what draws me to it. It's definitely surpassed in some areas by the Pixel and S24U but it's just so consistent on photos and video. But the S24U is just an all around beast. Traveling to Maui from Dallas yesterday I used the S24U all day on the plane using WiFi to follow sports, browse, stream some movies, catch up on work emails. Still at the end of the day had nearly 50% battery life.

Now to get out and take some nice pics with this beast. Purposely left my Pixel 8 Pro at home so I would force myself to use the S24U for all my pics.

Yeah, I have no battery anxiety with this phone.

Before iOS 16 my iPhone 13 pro max was the battery king and this phone is giving me deja vu.

For an Android phone, a Samsung phone to get this type of battery and performance is pretty great.

Surprising. 8 gen 2 was good but 8 gen 3 is even better for battery.

Why not do the two lines approach? Keep one tied to the 15PM and the other to swap between Android phones.

I don't really care to have multiple lines to be honest. I already have a work line which the Pixel Fold stays on. It's my workhorse. Multiple personal lines just to satisfy my tech addiction is just pissing away more money than I already am 😁

With e-sim it is a giant pain (in the U.S.). Last time I swapped between phones I had to wait an hour at the T-Mobile store because the support rep over the phone couldn't do it.
I message @tmobilehelp on Twitter and they swap it for me. Simple and usually takes 20 min or less. Just a pain compared to swapping a SIM card

I don't

I would never walk out of my front door with just my IP15PM in my pocket
For me depends where im going. If it's a place for photo opportunities then I tend to take a few. If I'm going shops or just the pub then I don't see a need to take more than one phone

Since I've been SIM swapping for the past week, a few things stand out between the S24U and P8P

-Battery life on the S24U is SIGNIFICANTLY better

-Network connection and Bluetooth is also noticablly better. Areas that used to be poor signal, I get great on the S24U, and Bluetooth connects wirelessly perfect on on the S24U, where the Bluetooth on the P8P was so so not reliable connected to my car.

-AoD I'm a big always on display user since Google first started doing it years ago. But I really like Samsung's version better now, more options, widgets, customization, plus it's brighter and more bold looking.

-Non-glossy, matte display on the S24U is so great, this needs to become the new standard on all smartphones.

I've swapped e-sims with Verizon multiple times and never had an issue.

You guys and your constant phone dilemmas. ☺️
I went from iPhone to Android and stayed there. The secret is not being reliant on iMessages and not keeping an iPhone around to constantly swap back to.

Also if you're massively set in your ways and do certain things in a particular manner then you're probably best off just sticking with what you know.

You're welcome.🤓
Agree...im a one phone guy. Dont feel the need to have multiples. Cheaper that way as well.

I also used Beeper mini for a short while til they got shut down and then you needed to jump thru hoops to use it,...so i deleted it. I didnt see the big deal with iMessage. Worked the same except the other end of me got a blue bubble. Didnt change a thing for me as far as getting messages.

It depends on the rep. When I called into T-Mobile to do it the rep completely disconnected my line and I had no service for a couple hours until it got resolved. Not only that, in the store they could not remove the E-SIM profile (off of my Pixel 8) for some reason and they had me wait 40 minutes while a physial SIM registered. At which point they could swap service from the physical SIM to the E-SIM (iPhone). It was the most ridiculous experience I've had with a carrier.
